loving the no-BS, no-intro jump right in style of the video! It actually took me by surprise but the content is front and center as it should be and I feel 'respected' while watching this. So thorough, so wholesome. Keep it up!
@@watchncarry9593 at 18:00 you mention there's 3 layers. The bottom layer is a matte finish. Do you know if that layer is necessary for the watch to function or if it's only for contrast? Also, do you know if I could replace this back layer with a different color or material?
Nice video. Casio should have updated this product by now. There are many, many complaints about the negative display AND that the watch has no backlight. They obviously don't care about customer complaints.
Is it possible to install an illuminating layer behind the screen of this watch without causing the watch to malfunction afterwards? I saw it been done to different models, not sure if it’s possible here.. would love to hear your opinion mate
On my White Casio CA53 Calculator watch, I changed the clock module with one from a positive polarity CA53 calculator watch that had a broken case. The Negative is so much harder to read.
what would you charge to change a pro trek PRW-3510Y from negative to positive? :) its a round display. I would accept the risk with no risk to you (you could use it in a video for round displays). My eyes arent as good as they use to be and hands aren't as steady as they use to be....
Yeah he should do a video of that watch too because most of these video are done in cheap casio model. I would love to see negative to positive display on PRW 3510y
Thank you for this tutorial. Isn’t it easier to leave the original filter and just put the new one rotated, the way it changes the negative to positive?
@@Bernie_Boernsn thanks. Good question, but no...you have to remove the original polarizing film before putting on the new polarizing film. 2 polarizing films placed on top of each other wont change the display from negative to positive and vice versa
I don't know if you will respond but i was wondering if i can peel off the back polarizer "matte or shiny part" hypothesizing that the numbers inclusively will show the pcb background (while the negative foreground of the front polarizer is untouched therefore leaving the shape of the numbers showing the pcb background) i can put a luminescent film that charges with surrounding light which will illuminate the numbers (and other displays) will only light up (or the other digits and functions) thank you for the reply
Thats a good question. I dont know unfortunately. One of my buddies on Instsgram has done that I think. Great modder too. Id ask him. His IG is @customwatchesworld 👍
What I did was spend $19 on another original black calculator watch that already had the inverted screen and just disassembled and swapped the whole inner unit. Took like 5 minutes.
The "foam" is called a Zebra strip because it is essentially a sandwich if foam and conductors to allow the LCD elements to be excited... up REAL close it resembles a Zebra's stripes...
sweet! this got you a subscriber:) QUESTION: in your opinion, how difficult would it be to do this conversion on ana-digital watches, with these tiny digital screens?
Great video! I did have a question on this upgrade. Where did you purchase the "zero degree film"? I am not able to find any on amazon, just some " Educational Physics" stuff. Not sure if this is the right stuff, I bought some of this and I can now see the motherboard in the background.. Any links on where you got this film or does it even matter?
Followed the tutorial exactly, the display can be seen working lightly under direct light, I've rotated the foam, did the ac reset, yet nothing. Any suggestions?
skin has some natural substances and oils that are corrosive to sensitive eletronic circuits such as LCD displays, even after a wash, your body wants to produce those substances and the only way to avoid them is with physical barriers such as gloves or tweezers ;)

I wish they made this colour bezel and band in more models. The lack of a backlight is deal killer for me :(
Awesome detailed video! You definitely improved the look of the watch my friend!!!
Appreciate it. Cheers👊
9:43 that spring is for the beeping sound of the watch. That is what makes the beep. It's like a small sound amplifier
Pezio spring

Perfect video explanation, I follow this procedure and the result is real unbelievable , many thanks !
This is art and you are the artist.
Great video. It´s a pitty because the black display looks so well but so difficult to read. I will follow your tutorial. Thanks!
Thanks. If it just had a backlight the original negative display would be better
@@watchncarry9593 yes, the backlight is a big lack in this watch, but it´s so cool anyway
Hello, thanks for the video, what product is used to remove the glue? thanks per advance!
Moral of story…buy a positive display. Plastic razor blade would work well vs guitar pick.
Nice video :)

I bought this watch to replace my classic Casio calculator, but was so bummed with the negative display. It was impossible to read in most lighting.
I enjoyed watching this informative video, learned a lot from this. Thank you so much. Al Monfort

Good suggestion for those that don't mind spending a little bit more.
@@watchncarry9593 it was just the easiest way for me. I love your video and appreciate how in depth you go. Quality content! Subscribing :)
Can I just remove the negative film and put back without using the other film
I think it would help to heatup a little bit with like hair dryer. Good vid I plan on doing this as well.
What is the cost from changing the negative display to a positive display
For this particular watch, it would be $35 + return shipping to change the display drom negative to positive 👍
Buy the all black version with the positive display and swap modules?
Heh,!
If u dont mind paying for the watch twice, then yes, u could and get the same result.
@@watchncarry9593 True. You get two of the same kind of watches but different colors.

Im not surex as ana-digi watch construction can vary from model to model and brand to brand
The screen band is made of rubber not foam... and it has conductive lines.. Good video !
Good to know. Thanks
Great video!

If you could do this with tissot prx digital, you'll be making quite a lot of bucks. But just a disclaimer, Swiss lcd is kind of easily crack.
Followed the tutorial exactly, the display can be seen working lightly under direct light, I've rotated the foam, did the ac reset, yet nothing. Any suggestions?
Maybe try a new battery?
Messaage me on my Instagram so u can send me pictures. Ill do what i can to help you.

why the rubber gloves ?

To remove the front polarized film you didn't have to disassemble the watch
its hard to red and it has no light
Amazing 👏👏👏👏🥇🙌🏆🇧🇷
Thanks 👍
Do you do mods for hire on this watch or others?

Yes i do.

Doing surgery on a watch is a bit intimidating to me, even if it's a cheap one : )
Yo compré dos y simplemente cambié los módulos
That also works if you dont mind buying 2 watches. It's easy and cheap enough for me to change it on my own
Watch doctor 😁
Doctor who forgot to push the buttons out in the end and ended up damaging the frame holding the module?? Sure
I WILL SWAP MY POSITIVE DISPLAY WITH ANYONES NEGATIVE DISPLAY I LOVE THE DISPLAY!!!!
