    Considering most mag fed paintball guns only come with one or two mags, I would think the first thing on your "must have" list would be more mags. Seems like a little more "must have" to me than a coupler lol

    Remote Line and air tank best things ever when it comes to magfed

    • @alxdpo6471
      @alxdpo6471 5 років тому +14

      Nah airstock is much better, you dont have that remote line with you that makes it difficult to move through woodland environment

    • @rhogantier8844
      @rhogantier8844 5 років тому +1

      @@alxdpo6471 I dont know which remotes do you use, but they dont make your movement difficult, it allows you to use diferent stocks or not use them, especially in CQB. In CQB some stocks make you slow.
      Maybe you use very new remotes, that are kinda hard to bend, but with time and use they are more easy to manage.
      With Airstocks you need to care about your air, 5 mags and refill. Sometimes you just spend 2 mags in a game, then you start a new game and you didn't refill ...and ups!..that time you needed 1 or 2 extra mags, but u didnt had enough air.
      In some fields you can refill every time you respawn or go to the safety zone, but in woodland enviroment is not quite often.
      Especially in big games. In CQB areas is more often to have a refill zone, but this Airsotcks are usually longer than a normal one, and in CQB they really make it really difficult to move in Urban zones.
      Even more, try to change a 13ci/3000 psi for other one on the fly is not hard but not the best option when you are under "Enemy Paint".
      Airstocks are cool. VEry cool. But In Paintball your principal energy Source is air. And you cant run out of air in some situations. Sometimes..the worst situations.
      Best option. Slide check remote. You can leave your marker if you need to , and run for the objetive to win da game!

    I agree with 4 out of 5 of these items with the exception being mag couplers. I don't feel that couplers are, while handy, not necessarily a must have.

    • @matthewwain9958
      @matthewwain9958 7 років тому +3

      Mag couplers can be a pain to get the pouches you want for them. This is often overlooked when trying them out. If I am in a situation where I need quick changes, I just dump the mag on the floor and pick it up later.
      Things like this are totally personal preference.

  • @PolisKshatriya
    @PolisKshatriya 5 років тому +1

    Only item on this list I agree with is the dump pouch. Contrary to popular belief, it is so much faster and a better habit to get into to just reload your primary. Sights get in the way and aren't needed unless you're trying to make some long shots, in which case you probably want to be using a Supremacy and FSR. For the most part, anything on your upper receiver is just another hit zone. Mag couplers are a gimmick and for most mags, leaves paint exposed, allow dirt, splatter and debris to get in -- Same reason you put your mags upside down in your carrier is the reason why couplers are usually bad.

  • @upickpaintball7780
    @upickpaintball7780 8 років тому

    Dude. As a relatively well experienced Magfed player that has been in multiple situation I agree that almost ALL of these items are MUST haves. I agree you totally need optics on your gun and what you said is my argument for using them exactly.

    • @abalrog42
      @abalrog42 7 років тому

      My thoughts exactly :) Optics are sadly very frowned upon by those (mostly experienced speedballers) who think they're just eye candy. Training yourself to use optics in a firefight really saves you from wasting over %40 of your ammo and you learn to actually range your targets effectively. In my opinion, there's no greater rush than nailing someone with one shot because of a scope :)

    • @matthewwain9958
      @matthewwain9958 7 років тому

      Optics are ace, especially if using FSR with them, although with my clean Lapco smoothbore .684 round ball are deadly accurate as well. I don't run an option on my Etha however as I don't run a stock, so it's quicker on target to use without it.

  • @matthewwain9958
    @matthewwain9958 8 років тому +7

    I would say from your list: red-dot (or raised iron sights), riser and dump pouch are the essential items. The others are not necessary, especially the side arm.

    • @abalrog42
      @abalrog42 7 років тому

      Sidearms are very important in mag fed paintball bro. Mag fed rifles are more accurate, but having a sidearm is vital if you plan on surviving as long as someone with a hopper.

    • @matthewwain9958
      @matthewwain9958 7 років тому +1

      So.... you are saying that I couldn't just carry more magazines for my primary weapon? A sidearm is NOT critical. It is cheaper and lighter to carry spare mags. The advantage a sidearm can give is in tight situations, where you want to minimize your profile or where speed/target acquisition time is king. It has nothing to do with staying in the game longer. The one time it might matter is if you run out of air because your bottle to magazine count does not match up, but that is a CHOICE to have that happen, and would mean that you either don't want to carry a spare air bottle on you; don't want to have a bigger tank ; don't want to go remote line.
      Let's be honest here, pistols are for the cool factor or for the 'oh sh*t!' moments where swapping to a pistol is faster or necessary due to space.
      I COMPLETELY disagree that it is an important item.
      CONS: Pistols can increase your profile (Meaning you get hit more), make your load out harder to manage and make running and movement harder if you don't have it set up right.
      (I would like to run a sidearm myself purely as an emergency marker on the field, but not with the current sized pistols. it definitely is not important to have one though).

    • @abalrog42
      @abalrog42 7 років тому +1

      Just because I choose not to use a remote line doesn't mean that I am setting myself up for failure. Remote lines can get in the way if you need a vest to carry your magazines and carrying even more like you have suggested. Switching hands with a rifle while using a remote line is something I avoid like the plague.
      Also, no shit. Of course I COULD use a larger tank or carry more 13 ci's... If I really wanted to abandon the entire milsim scenario altogether. The entire point of mag fed play is to tactically pick your shots and understand that teamwork is of the utmost importance to hold positions and stay in the fight. I wish a 13 ci gave me more shots, but that's a part of simply working with what you have.
      Also if you really think that carrying a sidearm weighs you down too much and makes it easier for someone to hit you...but having like ten magazines, a remote line, and a 68/4500 tank doesn't...I really don't know what to tell you...that makes like no fucking sense at all...

    • @matthewwain9958
      @matthewwain9958 7 років тому

      And you make no sense claiming a pistol is an important item :-P

    I disagree with the sidearm being faster than a reload.
    Im usually dilligent about knowing when my mag is coming close to empty, at which point I'll draw a replacement in my off hand.
    When I hear the blank shot go off, I drop the current mag, snap the new one in and continue firing in less than a second. Worry about picking up dropped mag after bad man puts his head behind cover.

      It's not just mags, it's also air. You can carry all the mags you want but if you're using a 13ci tank, you're only going to be able to fire 4 to 6/7, depending on your marker.
      Having a smaller sidearm has other advantages too, like if you move into close quarters and need something really small to peek through a tight corner.

    • @ashravenpb
      @ashravenpb 7 років тому +1

      it will work, but theres really no point in using it. By the time you have the dot on your target you will have been shot out. Its best to learn how to point and shoot without the need for optics.

    • @cbb6278
      @cbb6278 6 років тому +1

      The optic will work, but don't listen to the "by the time you have the dot on your target you will be shot" crap. He is clearly thinking if someone is already aiming at you, but not if you get an angle on someone, find someone that is distracted, or has their back to you. The biggest thing to remember is paintballs don't fly true all the time. So just because you have the red dot one someone doesn't mean the ball isn't going to curve, drop, or bust on a twig or something.
      I used to run a cheap 4x15 bb gun scope on my old pro-lite. This was back when balls were actually good. I used the scope mainly for spotting. When I first started playing everyone was real sneaky and wouldn't shot until they had a good shot. I caught myself sometimes shooting a tree root because it looked like a leg at a distance. The scope helped me identify if it was something worth shooting at. As far as aiming goes I was very surprised at how many times i would be looking through the scope and spot a hopper or arm or leg and shoot one ball and it actually fly true and hit it.

      When I hear the blank go off, its as easy as dropping, inserting, and firing again.
      Dont try to avoid magazine pouch fumbling, just do it when its safe.

      Because the original reason paintball guns were invited, at least the story I heard, was for farmers and ranchers to “Mark” their land and sometimes their livestock quickly from a distance. Also by calling them “markers” it distances them linguistically from guns and firearms, which have a bad reputation amount some segments of the population. And tournament style markers don’t look anything like real guns.
