So many cooking shows the cooks dont get everything out of the bowl or pot. Paula will scrape the paint off to not waste any of the ingredients. I like that about her. That says a lot about her up bringing. Waste not want not. We come from the same neck of the woods.
Why do people worry about such little things? There is not that much left that makes a difference. I am sure if we look hard enough we can find a lot to complain about.
@williecunnings...as she said, in her peanut butter bar with Q...if you get a 9" baking dish and divide it into thirds...1/3 is for the price of the ingredients, 1/3 is for your pay check, and 1/3 is for the profit for the restaurant...wasting anything is taking a 1/3 away from the equation. That's what she came up with for not wasting food with her cooking staff...but I think it's a sign of not having food once, I heard (from her) she struggled so when Jamie ad Bobbie were babies and even slept in a restaurant she worked at so she's going to relish every crumb. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with her upbringing.
If you ever return to tv, it should be like this, cooking with friends and family, having a good time. Watching these videos makes me feel at home, like I’m hanging out and having a good time with my family.
The food network kicked her off...which is why I get after Bobby so for wearing that stupid food network Wine Beach apron...like he doesn't have any other apron. It's to rub her face in things. That guy, if you ask me, is not a supporting, kind son. I hope she cuts him out of the will.
Hey Paula Happy to see that you are as particular at scraping the bowl and not leaving any behind!!! I do the same thing, and felt like I was a bit of a nutcase!!
I am with you the recipe is just the bonus I feel like I get to visit a friend with her. Hearing her dog in the background playing with a toy is just so adorable too.
Good Sunday morning from Woodstock Ga. I haven’t ever made an onion casserole and I look forward to trying this one out. I have my okra to make your hoecakes today and green tomatoes both recipes you have recently uploaded on your Quarantine recipes! Thanks
I have that "Butter Y'all " spatula. Bought it a few years back at Paula's restaurant in Pigeon Forge, TN. That day we also got 2 Meow Y'all bowls for our kitties. Such a memorable vacation for my family.
Wow! I am blown away at how beautiful and delicious that looked right out of the oven! What is to go wrong with those ingredients? Have y’all ever served that in any of the restaurants? I buy up Vidalia onions and freeze them because of ya’ll! I live in Dallas, TX! So we have the TX Sweet of course but nothin like the Vidalia! It is the variety of onion that makes them good but what makes them gold is the very low amounts of sulfur in the soil where they are grown in Vidalia, GA is what I have learned! In college I worked at a very swanky market (kind of a grocery store) in college and kind of rotated in different departments and worked in the produce some! I also grew up on a ranch and I love growing any kind of plants from edible to ornamental and roses were my strength! We always had a big vegetable garden and an orchard as well as other fruits always. My uncle grew a big field of watermelons that were delicious. My family is from south Louisiana so good food is always what my family was about. Many times growing up our meals where 100% from the garden except for some ingredients of course then we would have more meats in the cooler months that were from the ranch as well.
I always put my melted butter and cracker crumbs in a ziplock bag and squish them around...perfectly buttered cracker crumbs that are quick, easy, and no mess at all
Paula I can’t wait to share this with friends the next time we grill steaks! I’m from Texas and we prefer Noonday (Texas) sweet onions. When we can’t get those, we like Vidalia! You are the first thing I look forward to when I wake up each morning. Thank you for sharing your home with us and stay safe. This too shall pass!
Tara Welch - My husband & I we’re just out at Villages resort near Noonday this past week! We also love Noonday onions best of all. We are from the Pineywoods of East Texas, and we’ll be making this dish with Noonday onions too.
I grew up hearing my Dad talk about Noonday onions. For a while we even saw them in our local grocery stores (Houston area). Unfortunately I haven't seen them in quite a while but we do get the Vidalia's regularly.
I have a recipe from my grandma that is a onion pie! They had a farm in Canada during the late 30's early 40's. She wrote it on the back of a calendar for me. She didn't waste anything!!
That's a danish dough whisk Miss Paula. It's used to mix (example) dough (blueberry scones are just one example) that way it incorporates without overworking or breaking up (blueberries for example) or getting caught in. First time I saw one was about 6 months or so ago when I was learning to make blueberry scones via UA-cam. Your friend sent you a pretty one! Thank you for continuing to teach me how to cook the way I've watched you for years! Love the time spent in Miss paula's kitchen! Love and best dishes ❤️
I cannot wait to make this dish. It looks so yummy. I love to watch you, Paula. You are one real girl and a hoot to watch. Thank you for doing all these quarantine dishes. I have made several and they are all so good!
Paula, I just love the way your kitchen is set up! so much room yet you don't walk yourself to death cooking!!! and those copper sinks! you and the boys can be cooking and two people can be washing up all not bumping into each other. a great plan. please can you give us a full tour of that working paradise?
You make me so happy 😊 i love watching you and learning. Please don't ever stop ❤ I've had a horrific past 2 years losing my mom, my dad, grandma, and special uncle. The grief is destroying me and your videos are my go to happy place. Thank you sooooo much 😘
Oh sweet Paula!!!! I absolutely love you...your recipes...your accent...your laugh...you really are a joy. This onion dish....I def will make this since I love steak and onions...having vidalia onions is a grand idea...I love the hint of sweetness. With this recipe...its already headed to be one of our favorite side dish to make with anything!!!! Thank you very much for sharing. Stay safe....you and your beautiful family I keep in my daily prayers. Much love! Agatha
We just got some Texas onions a few days ago that we’ll use to make this recipe with. Noonday, Texas produces some of the best, sweetest onions I’ve ever had, and is less than a hundred miles from where we live in East Texas. Can’t wait to try this casserole! Thanks, Paula, for sharing this recipe. ⚡️💖⚡️
We ate at your Branson restaurant a 2 weeks ago and WE LOVED it! Not only was the food perfectly delicious and the exterior & interior of your place there is gorgeous! Thank you for adding one close enough for us to visit from the Kansas City area once in a while.....that being said, we think one here on the KANSAS or Missouri side of the state line would go over wonderfully! Love this Vidalia Onion Bake sounds delicious ....thank you again❣️🤗🇺🇸🙏🏻
Just popped a smaller version, for two, in the oven to go along with Prime Rib for Sunday evening dinner. Love the show. Thank you, Paula, Eddie and Teresa.
I have made this and it's amazing!! Thank you Paula!! We do the foil wrapped onions when we grill too. I use butter and A-1 steak sauce in the foil onion. It's delicious!!☺
The way I do my vidalia onions on the grill is, take a piece of foil and place vidalia on it. Cut dime size hole in top. Place a beef bouillon cube and butter in hole. Wrap in the foil and place on grill. You have to be careful when removing from foil, the juice just wants to run.
Looks delicious. My husband loves onions. He was trying to tell me just yellow onions are the same as Vidalia. Not, Absolutely Not. I used to love a vidalia onion salad dressing. Haven't had that in awhile. Definitely will make this soon.
I remember watching this video in 2020. I search it out again to get the recipe in hopes to make it soon. I think my family would love to try it and add it to one of their favorite dishes!! Thanks.
Whoever does your Closed Captions does a great job! *I know..weird comment* So many just don't make sense (on other folk's videos) . These even capture the correct words for the sounds in the kitchen. Good job. Great Casserole.
Paula... you're braking my heart! We get Vidalias for only about 2 (?) months in Wisconsin. Ugh! The most wonderful onion ever! Love Georgia! Can't wait to visit Savannah again!
The pig baking dish is wonderful. Perfect for serving pulled pork barbeque. The recipe I use for that couldn't be easier. Boston butt roast with dry rub and vinegar, cooked overnight in a crockpot. Then shred, coat with BBQ sauce, and crisp in a skillet on top of the stove. This onion casserole looks delicious. I bet leftovers would make a great filling for omelettes the next day for breakfast or a light supper. Thanks, Paula, Theresa, and Eddie.
Good Sunday morning and I have made the Vidalia Onion dip for my Football Game Day and it's so delicious. I will definitely have to try it too and thank you for sharing. Be blessed and be safe, love you all ♥️!
Hey Paula, thinking about the new name for the program since you’re ready to retire “Quarantine Cooking “. The show has been a blessing to so many of us during that time...and beyond. I have found it to be comforting as we navigate life during this pandemic and as I’m dealing with some health issues. Therefore, thought perhaps you would like the new title of the show to be “Paula’s Comfort Cooking”. My best friend said it first and I thought it was perfect!
I love it..I'm from Arkansas I need to find me a pig dish like that so adorable Just love onions cant wait to try this Sending love from Arkansas Miss jackie
Dang, you always look so cute when you cook! Love this outfit! I bought a huge bag of vidalia onions from the Shrine Club as their fund raiser and this is going to be on our menu this week. YUM!
Thanks again Paula. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but thank you so very much for all of these WONDERFUL recipes and videos during difficult and challenging times. Love that we can all gather in your kitchen for comfort and “best dishes!” 😀
Saw this in the morning and made it for lunch, to die for delicious!!!! We used it as a main course with some veg on the side, plenty of cheese and egg in it for protein. This recipe is a keeper for sure!
Wow, this onion casserole looks so, so delish! When you pulled the piggy outta the oven and those crumbs on top were golden and bubbly, my mouth watered! I will definitely be trying this. I think I may thickly slice the onions into rings, though. Seems like they would be incorporated more throughout the dish! Yummy! 😋🎃💕🐾
@@annem119 I made a half recipe yesterday n it was so incredibly delish. You will love it! The rings incorporate throughout the dish as I thought...rather than just quartering them. Enjoy!
Wow! My Mom would have loved this. I think I might try it. Then make it again and put some Broccoli & Cauliflower in it (so I wont have to call it onion casserole - family members wont even try it if it's called that) Thank you Paula! I'm making it your way first, just like you say to do ❤
I am an onion freak!! I'm definitely adding this to my Christmas dinner list! But I think I may need to test it before then lol Paula, do you have any different recipes for mushrooms? I adore them as well!
thumbs up from Texas! yes texas has 1015 yellow sweet onions. recipe looks yummy. I would add a few cloves of garlic. Thank all of you for the entertainment( the three of you) love the chit chat. xoxo
Thank you for taking the few seconds to scrape out all the goody from the pan and bowls. And I always butter my cracker/bread crumbs like you just did, this business of “dotting” the butter around just don’t cut it.
Hay Paula Your casserole looks out of this world, I heard You mention You like grilled onions .what we do is buy what are called Mexican onions they're like scallions but with a bigger onion part salt and butter them wrapped in foil and just throw them in the pit . Yummy no need yo watch them when foil turns black they era done.😍👍

Yes i cringe when they don't, but i can always count on Paula
Same as Martha Stewart (Not from the same neck of the woods.)
I agree totally 😁😃
Why do people worry about such little things? There is not that much left that makes a difference. I am sure if we look hard enough we can find a lot to complain about.

Love onions in anyway they are fixed. We grew the Texas sweet onions this year and had a good harvest. Yummy

Hi there Paula, I love onions but first time I've ever seen a casserole made with them. Looks delicious, something I 'll have to make ! Thank you
Paula, thank you for being you!!!
Not a big onion fan, but when I saute them until they're good and caramelized, then I'm on top of the world (well, you know what I mean. )
I think it would be really good if the onions were a little caramelized first.
That looks very good I love onions..
I really enjoy watching you..your so sweet..😊
I make a caramelized onion quiche that is yummy
Thanks again Paula. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but thank you so very much for all of these WONDERFUL recipes and videos during difficult and challenging times. Love that we can all gather in your kitchen for comfort and “best dishes!” 😀
Wish I could have just one of Paula’s casserole dishes. I’m working with one 9x13 and one 9x9 and they’re just plain Jane. Hers are always so cool.
Saw this in the morning and made it for lunch, to die for delicious!!!! We used it as a main course with some veg on the side, plenty of cheese and egg in it for protein. This recipe is a keeper for sure!

I bought your awesome salt and pepper container. Love it!
LOVE that pig dish!! Going to try this for sure. And now I want to see the deviled ham dip! I’ll buy the magazine, but please demo it for us here!
Your new “wisk” is actually a Scandinavian designed wet dough wisk for baking pastries. Thus the longer handle.
Paula, I love you so much!! This onion side dish will make it into my mouth SOON! You are such a blessing!
I just love you in your natural element without all of the fluff and puff. So enjoy it and this recipe looks oh so good! ❤
Yummy! Yes, I would take Paula's recommendation and personally slice them in half moon shaped. Probably easier to serve. Looks divine! xoxo
Definitely should have "Best Dishes" somewhere in the new name for the show.
This casserole looks incredible!
Please keep doing these videos. There's so much negativity out in the world this is my happy escape :-)
Agree, agree, agree!!! 😁😁😁
Going to have to make this. I love onions and especially French onion soup. Love you're piggy dish.
This is a delicious dish! Company is always impressed when I serve it! 👌
Ms Paula do you ever use those pretty pots on the wall?😃
I did see in another video that she used one. I think it’s pretty rare. :)
This really looks amazing and so so simple! So excited to try this!
