Thanks for sharing your knowledge and time to help us to learn about mixing the colours and all the painting lessons, a big thank you to both of you ❤️ 🎉🎉. All the best for your health and life.
This is soooooo deep and informative 👏. I have watched this almost 3 times and what I think is good FOR ANYONE WATCHING THIS the 1st time or more... TAKE NOTES as if you are in a classroom.
This has been the most important video of the series in the Beginner’s series this far. I have a book with swathes of my different paint sets with notes and my Harmonies grouped that I prefer. Call me crazy 😛
This is very helpful, something to watch more than once, great lesson ❤❤❤great job John! Breastfeeding the first month was a nightmare 😫 Painting the first time was too! Still learning!Thank you all❤❤❤❤
Thanks for this lesson. I paint with your mom a lot, and she touches on all these techniques mixed in throughout her tutorials, but this is a great primer, all in one place, to remind me how to do things correctly & waste less paint. Great job ❤️
This class was incredible!! There is a wealth of knowledge in this one class thank you so much!! I am so excited about this mini book. Thank you to everyone involved in making this brilliant video. I can't wait to dive deeper with you into color theory you explain it so well and demonstrate it so well.
Let me just say you are the only art teacher I've been able to listen to that doesn't sound like a crazy person 😎 and I have unrealistic standards, so cheers to you... Seriously, you are awesome, thank you 😍
It took me a few days to sit down and get through this video and take notes, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to start my first painting tomorrow. Thank you for taking the time to create this course. ❤
Thank you Ms cinnamon and Mr John, I used to be so confused about why my colors were not giving me the shades or tints I wanted and your explanation provides a much needed relief for the mindset. See you all tomorrow. Thank you.
Awesome! Ok now I've watched all 7 courses, I'm gonna go back through with my supplies and practice along with you and then paint the paintings again. I learned how to paint in a way different way, so I'm excited to see what happens when I marry what I know and have done so far with what I am learning now. Thank you!
Your amazing Cinnamon. You know your stuff and how to simplify this course. I learned so much about color mixing in this course. It’s just a matter of practice now. Thank you 🙏
What an amazing overview of color theory. Beautifully done. I have always had intuitive color sense so I never know how to explain why I choose the colors I do and why they work. Now I can point to this video. Thank you again.
Hi! I am so thankful for these classes. It has taught me how to mix colors, and how to use the paint brushes. I have watched these once so far and I plan to re-watch them again then paint along with you. There is so much info that its hard to absorb all at once. Taking up art in HS and majored in college, painting was one art class I didn't take now I wish that I did. I love to paint! Thank you so much, Cinnamon and John! ❤❤
You really are a teacher at heart. Thank you so so much. And thanks for keeping these courses posted. You taught me how to blend colors for gradients. I still struggle with that skill, and when I finally master it, my practice canvas boards will probably be 1 inch in thickness from all the paint I've been applying, lol! This one came up in my feed, so I decided to watch and enjoy it. More tools for my painting toolbox!
This makes so much sense. Thank you very much for all you do for new students. I have been following this course and have learnt so much. Thank you is not enough 😃
I'm enjoying your course. I just found a large notebook with canvas that I used so many years ago to create my own color wheel with all the harmonies, tones, tints and shades. That time I did it in watercolor and took it a step further by creating a step-wise pyramid laying on it's side - kind of like a stair case with each block a different color with the primary colors, with ult blue, per rose, and lemon yellow. The blocks on the inside were combinations of those 6 - down and across. It was fun to do and taught me alot about mixing colors. Your course is such a great refresher.
Wow! You really know your shXX! I was already impressed by your painting talent, but I have a whole new appreciation for all the knowledge you posess. Oh how I wish I was painting years ago so all this learning would be behind me! lol Thank you for sharing with us. I think you are amazing!
I really needed this course, it was not taught in my high school art class pleased do the same tutorial for water colour because we can't use black or white to change tint, knock it back or lighten the colours. Do we use contraststing colours for knocking back thecolours and water to tint them? Help please? I am confused.
Thanks Cinnamon and John. Love ❤️ this video. How to add colours to each other for tone and shade. I didn’t know. I can’t wait for the cats so cute 🥰. Big Art hugs. 👍💜🎨🧑🎨🇨🇦
these ones I ordered now from Sennelier abstract Acrylics primary blue, primary yellow primary red, and with my black and white Ihope I can mix all colours to my delight!Thank you so much for the playful way of teaching, it does not get boring!
I have watched all seven videos and I have learned so much. Thank you for all the work you put into your videos and for providing this information for free. You two are delightful. :)
Cinnamon, you are just a super fantastic teacher, and I have so far not missed a lesson here. I do see the bias in my acrylics in comparison with yours and I am glad to know just why...and most of all I thank you for teaching me just exactly what you do when mixing on the palette, I see why it is so important, and even though I knew how to tint, tone and shade, I realize I only half knew how...I am excited to put this into practice! Again, thank you is not enough!
Excellent absolutely excellent video. You explained everything so well you made color mixing a lot easier to understand and now not so scary. THANK YOU 😊
@@TheArtSherpa I think you both do a great job. I’m in Australia and I teach at 2 Community centres as a volunteer. I really find your insights helpful. Thanks
Just an idea... When explaining the harmonies you should cut the shapes so the points touch your colors... Then you can just turn your shape on the wheel to show which ones go together .. ie...a triangle that the points touch blue, red, and yellow..and then you can turn to next color harmony.... And then switch to a rectangle.... And then a square.... instead of trying to hold your fingers on them as you explain.. might make it easier and more visual. Thank you so much for these classes..it has helped so much with my crafting and profession.
I am so thrilled that I found your beginning class series! You have given me so much information and skill that I feel like I can really PAINT!!! :) Thank you so much!

I have a bunch of inks from Stampin up. Can they be used to tint acrylic paint? It says they are water based Dye inks.
Pigment based stamp pad ink can but it’s chancy since they are very concentrated and very liquid. I would say yes but be very careful.

Hi Cinnamon. When you are talking triadic, it looked like you went 3 then the 4th color is your color. Is that right? Or did i just see that wrong?
