Sorry for the stuttery video at parts, OBS and Tekken 8 just do NOT want to cooperate 😂 still working on a consistent fix, i may have found it! Thanks for watching!
Pretty useful video. 9:43 just a note, the airborne state here is juggle state, which can still be hit by lows. There are 2 airborne states in tekken, one avoids all lows, and is indicated by the blue color. The other is juggle state, which can be hit by lows, and is indicated by having no color (white text).
B1+2 can be a good move to throw out once in a while, not for keepout but as a panic move or even a hard read to evade mid/high attacks. It teleports you back a huge distance instantly and also pushes you forward after. I've dodged many mids using that move
Just got to high end of purple ranks using your videos and I think Raven just might be my favorite character so far. Thanks so much for the guides it gives me great insight
Your guides has allowed me to peak at Bushin rank with Raven even though I never played him in previous games. Keep these guides coming. They're amazing!
I reach it Tekken King Rank with Raven in Tekken 8 yesterday, I'm satisfied enough for now, as always your tips with Raven has always help it me to improve it even more... ☯️✌️
I didn't think to use crd-ws 2 for keep out. I just used it to counter hit over aggressive players all day. I used 3,3 and f2,3 for keep out. Nice strategy I will use jack-knife for my keep out play as well now.
Another great vid man! Quick question: is forward 1+2 applicable for whiff punishment/ counter pressure at higher levels of play? I'm in purple ranks rn.
I’m so glad I played some Maven on the side in T7 or I would be getting handled. As a Yoshi main (side Raven/Bears), tryna condition someone is hard af w/Raven compared to Yoshi. Ppl always having to look out for Flash helps me push offense easily.
it’s not a good move anymore. you can’t hit confirm the follow up anymore and the clone jails which means you can always take your turn back if he does qcf1 SZ. (don’t tell) lol - Pinya using it i feel is just old muscle memory from 7 because it was so strong in that game
Excellent video per usual brotha 🔥🥷🏾‼️ I can certainly attest to Aqua Spider aka FC df3 being Raven’s best keepout low too! In T7 I’ve gotten sooo many CH launches off of placing it on people aggressively charging me in neutral. Also, I’ve found use for B3 being somewhat of a decent keepout option in the past with T7. Til this day I still will throw in a b3 in neutral when I have a life lead and I’ve been back dashing away. Especially when time is winding down; the opps have no choice but to approach with a Hail Mary move in times like that.
My problem is im still a new player so I haven't really figured out exactly what other chars do. I'm kinda still blocking from guessing. I know a few things but alot of what their moves do still elude me.
It's gonna come with time and experience playing the game and reviewing your replays to see what each character is doing against you so you know how to counter or interact it next time. There's 32 characters at launch minus 1 of the bears since they both play the same outside of heat mode. Don't be discouraged.
Hi mate, great content and info regarding all things Raven as always, I'm having trouble pulling off quicksand from soul zone teleport is there a consistent way of doing this? every time I teleport it seems like I have to go into full crouch then DF 3+4 and it takes ages...most of the time my opponent block my mix-ups because they can see my full crouch animation, I've seen this done much quicker by yourself and other top players.......... some advice would be much appreciated.
I know you did a video about Heat, but you didn’t go over the heat engagers usage outside of combos. Could you do one about them, all of your other videos have been so helpful.
Heat engagers are covered in my beginner and advanced guides! I don’t think it’s worth doing a video on them. Only one that doesn’t launch is the power crush in which case b3 is the follow up 😂😂😂 the rest of the heat engagers follow the same combo routes too
There's also the up forward 3+4, 4 which is safe on block but if you catch them ducking or pressing it goes into a full combo... its airborne as well if you read a low wake up attack you can get a full combo out of that as well. you should check that out soul.
It’s not safe on block (-11) 😭 It’s pretty useless in this game, they took away the ch low launcher, all the tricky options from it… only mix is the low and the launch on block mid lmaoooo trash move
It's simple but I use ff2 when I'm playing footsies. It pushes them back so I'm controlling more space, I can back dash and punish if they try to retaliate, and if it hits them I get a knockdown. I also use f2 to intimidate in neutral once I've established the f23 string or the f2 delayed 3 string. If either of these start to make my opponent freeze then I go to a throw.
I think one of best keep out tool is heat burst (of course its not only keepout toll) - this push back oponent on range 2.5+ mid/safe/power crush/stronkkkkk
I am soaking up all this knolwedge thanks bro. Also I would like to know ravens moves you shouldn't use because I get punished alot and its only because my frames are slower. Any advice?
stop using moves that you’re getting punished for, depends on the match up too. If a character can launch a specific low that’s seeable, stop using it in general
@@imortalXsoul Awesome. I guess it has alot of the rock paper scissors guessing game. I just didn't know if there were certain moves you should never do simply because the frames are just to long.
It's hard for me to do movement like yours. Me on pad, often do qcf insted of d, df only like what u do. Is there any alternative gameplay other than doing wavedash?
It’s not a raven specific thing, that just sounds like matchup unfamiliarity. There are 3 things to deal with hwoarang… stepping his generally linear flamingo/RFF pressure or ducking high gaps… or just escape parry everything 😂😂😂
@@imortalXsoul btw, could you maybe make some kind of a "scrub killer" mini-guide? like, with Drag I have b4,2 variations, 1+2 throw into df2 launch if they mash on oki; I'm sure Raven has these cheap cheese options but I just can't figure them out myself as a newcomer
I thought Raven sucked on release because I was still playing tekken 7 Raven. But I got to blue rank on an 18 win streak by mashing power crush to enter heat, using the while running move during the heat forced 50/50, then doing chip damage and dumping the heat smash. I just killed everyone for blocking. If players don’t know that they can input buffer during the forced 50/50 dash animation (after landing heat engager), Raven can escape with parry.

Try disabling Nvidia Frameview, if you have an Nvidia GPU. It's what makes GeForce Overlay work, but it can cause stutters with some games.

Can you also do a video on fc df3?
I feel like this move has so much potential but I cant utilize it fully yet.
I feel like a video dedicated to one move is a bit pointless but i may do a video on his lows
fantastic content brother!

His cartwheel nerf is still pretty sad but this is an excellent video as always ty for the succint breakdowns!

Great video. Any thought on u/f 3+4,4 as a whiff punish? I have been using that alot cause of the range and it gives a combo on normal hit.

hmmm, i feel like i always cover raven's neutral. i cover it in depth in the advanced guide

Not strictly for keepout but qcf1 can have use as well for keepout? I watch Pinya a lot and he likes to use it

have u already done a guide for instant ws moves? or is that what the wave dashing tutorial is for?
it’s within the wave dash but i’ll probably do a wave dash video in general, it won’t cover the technique as i’ve already done it three times 💀💀

you need to teleport using d not u
@imortalXsoul omg and all this time I was pressing up hahaha 😆 thank you so so much, can't wait for the next vid!!!!!
I honestly don't mind F,4 as a good keep out move sometimes. Its good for checking people who have running attacks or airbourne moves like azucena.

no, unfortunately thats why i dont use the cd
