There’s something particularly mesmerizing about this instrumental for me... I can’t quite put a finger on it, but at the beginning, I feel as though I’ve just jumped into an immensely deep and cool swimming pool in the middle of a humid summer night, and those gorgeous synths are the pool lights shifting the water around me from one dazzling color to another with every measure. Memories of old flames and friends I’ve fallen apart from over the years and family members who have long passed flood into my mind and overwhelm me, enveloping each of my senses and blaring through me with the power of those impossibly big saxophones in the chorus. Perhaps I’m just over analyzing the instrumental track to a cheesy dance pop song, but Real Love is a starry-eyed musical encounter like no other I’ve ever heard.
