    i have a 2016 f150 with the 2.7 and mine has 43k on it currently. its been in the shop since september. took the truck into the dealer for this same problem and was told the cylinder walls were scored and badly damaged. dealer replaced the engine and turbos under warranty. pick up the truck up on a friday after the new engine was installed and end up returning it back to the dealer the very next day after less than 100 miles because the new engine spun a cam on the driver side cylinder head. now ive been in a dealership rental since october waiting on an engine. i love my truck and this is a great video i just wish this was my problem instead of the engine dying at 43k.

    I have a 2016 f150 and smokes on startup so I will be taking it to ford to be fixed as I have a extended warranty, in my younger years I would of tackled this repair as it doesn't seem to be that hard just alot of taking stuff off that's in the way. You make it look easy and very instructive. I only have 101k on my truck and it looks like new inside and out my last driver is a 1994 f150 with 225k on it and have had hardly any issues with the 5.8 and the truck itself. • @swrvtech

      I would suggest cleaning them for sure at least it will give you piece of mind. I would spray some purple power or degreaser in them and let them air dry and maybe even blow air through it to make sure all water and moisture is out.

    • @swrvtech
      @swrvtech  2 місяці тому +1

      No need to, also no way to do so since the oil pump is belt driven off of the crank shaft. Just make sure to put a dab of oil on fittings before going in so the oil rings don’t tear.
