It's an eye opener to most people who are hesitant to buy EV Cars. Being an Electrical Engineer, I know Standalone Domestic Solar Power Supply, independently cannot support EV car Charging. However connection to the State Grid, is a boon, as your charging current which is high , comes directly from the Grid. Now I understand the advantage of your Solar Power System, in charging your EV car. I am glad to hear all the advantages and the minimal maintenance cost of the vehicle. I think it may be useful to install ( electronic) sound of a car , like in Revolt Motorcycle, for sake of pedestrians and general traffic. Wish you safe & trouble free motoring ! 👍

I travel to Tirupathi with full 4 people load from ongole. its given me 254km range from home with speed of 60km. I found hotel in near Tirupathi where charging is available. Now most of hotels allow normal ev charging like other facilities(ac, wifi and parking) in hotal.
Great initiative about EV cars , especially Tata brand , people should start shifting to EV cars , and also govt should provide incentives for People who purchase EV cars .

Initially I used to have many doubts about EV vehicles and mostly cars. I got clarified all the doubts after watching multiple videos on this channel and mainly Dr. Kishore's detailed and elaborated video. Even though I have an XL6 2019 model Alpha AT car (12kmps in city and 13 to 14kmps in highway), I want to purchase the Tata Nexon EV vehicle because I'm regular traveler and the other reason as fuel rates rapidly increasing.

Main drawback is time consumption for charging when we plan for long trip. We can't wait for hours for charging which is not a problem with fuel cars which takes hardly 10-15 min to fill the tank. Ev cars are best for daily travel less than 200km daily & have another non ev car for long trips

Straight to the point without deviating and give utmost clarity from basics. you are a charm !! One question: If Maharastra Govt is giving subsidy for the vehicle, can't we buy there and brought here? What are the problems with it ??
Actually some points are missed in this explanation. Firstly initial investment is 600000 more than the petrol variant. So assuming an interest rate of 10 percent per annum, you get a return of 60000 per annum on that amount. So literally 60000 worth of petrol is free per year for petrol car to start with. And over a period of time battery capacity depletes and liion battery are too costly, As he said in video 30% repkacement of battery is not possible and entire battery needs to be changed. So assuming he has to change battery after 8 years he again has to invest Rs4 lakhs to replace the battery which would all increase the cost of EV. Yes EV’s are the future but that would take some time so that battery costs will reduce with more consumers and when the vehicle price reaches same level as petrol EV makes sense.
Why would you assume a battery change is required at the end of 8 year warranty period? . End of the warranty doesn't mean the battery stops functioning right away. As pessimistic as any company would be, Tata itself is confident enough to replace the battery for free for 8 years. However, the battery may degrade slightly over the years, even let's say 30%, there is still enough range left to be used normally after the warranty period. Also, a functioning battery can be used as stationary storage. Adding to your calculations, you can need to account for increasing petrol prices (imagine how much petro price would be after 8 years) and decreasing battery replacement cost. Also, 1.5 lakh income tax benefit per year on the interest of a car loan cannot be ignored if you are a tax-paying citizen.
@@NELLOREABBAI Battery prices going down is an assumption. There is no proof for the same. Yes electrical components have reduced prices over time. But same cannot be said for batteries as 80 % of worlds lithium reserves are in 2 countries and we have to import the same(atleast raw material). Take for example cars, car prices have always increased compared to past. So battery prices going down is an assumption not a certainity atleast as on today. It can go either way. only time can answer that

Bro, Can you please provide details of incentives/subsidy announced by government particularly in Telangana/Andhra Pradesh for purchasing EV Cars? It really helps us to do cost analysis
First of all, a big thanks to Dr. Kishore for adopting electric cars so early and inspiring others to do so. However, he was wrong about his statement on the pollution of electric cars. An EV produces zero tailpipe emissions, period. Yes, a coal plant produces emissions but it is usually located outside of residential areas. Its emission effect on human health is low (of course it is bad for climate change which is a different thing). On average, our grid in India is powered by 69% from coal and the rest from renewable sources. Even if the car is charged with 100% coal power, it is still 50% greener, as the efficiency of the coal power plant (~90%) is significantly higher than the efficiency of the combustion engine (~30%). Also, we need to account for exploration, refinement, transportation, pumping of petrol/diesel to the ICE cars. The important thing to note is that our grid is getting cleaner every year.
Thanks for sharing this video. It is very informative.. I have one doubt as I heard this in many of the EV reviews on the suspension part ad it is quite disappointed when compared to petrol and diesel. Can you please clarify on this?

And over a period of time battery capacity depletes and liion battery are too costly, As he said in video 30% repkacement of battery is not possible and entire battery needs to be changed. So assuming he has to change battery after 8 years he again has to invest Rs4 lakhs to replace the battery which would all increase the cost of EV. Yes EV’s are the future but that would take some time so that battery costs will reduce with more consumers and when the vehicle price reaches same level as petrol EV makes sense.

Why would you assume a battery change is required at the end of 8 year warranty period? . End of the warranty doesn't mean the battery stops functioning right away. As pessimistic as any company would be, Tata itself is confident enough to replace the battery for free for 8 years. However, the battery may degrade slightly over the years, even let's say 30%, there is still enough range left to be used normally after the warranty period. Also, a functioning battery can be used as stationary storage. Adding to your calculations, you can need to account for increasing petrol prices (imagine how much petro price would be after 8 years) and decreasing battery replacement cost. Also, 1.5 lakh income tax benefit per year on the interest of a car loan cannot be ignored if you are a tax-paying citizen.
@@NELLOREABBAI Battery prices going down is an assumption. There is no proof for the same. Yes electrical components have reduced prices over time. But same cannot be said for batteries as 80 % of worlds lithium reserves are in 2 countries and we have to import the same(atleast raw material). Take for example cars, car prices have always increased compared to past. So battery prices going down is an assumption not a certainity atleast as on today. It can go either way. only time can answer that

First of all, a big thanks to Dr. Kishore for adopting electric cars so early and inspiring others to do so. However, he was wrong about his statement on the pollution of electric cars. An EV produces zero tailpipe emissions, period. Yes, a coal plant produces emissions but it is usually located outside of residential areas. Its emission effect on human health is low (of course it is bad for climate change which is a different thing). On average, our grid in India is powered by 69% from coal and the rest from renewable sources. Even if the car is charged with 100% coal power, it is still 50% greener, as the efficiency of the coal power plant (~90%) is significantly higher than the efficiency of the combustion engine (~30%). Also, we need to account for exploration, refinement, transportation, pumping of petrol/diesel to the ICE cars. The important thing to note is that our grid is getting cleaner every year.
