This is the beginning of a journey and a collaboration between Trevor Green and me, Mike Tracz of MCT Guitars. In the end, a lap steel for Trevor and a killer story for me.
Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with documenting this build. This first installment includes preparing the headstock from curly cherry that fell during a storm and rescued by Rustbelt Reclamation in Cleveland OH.

Kelly Joe has one of my guitars. Well I hope he still has it and is playing again! He is one of my guitar hero’s and after chatting with him one of the greatest guys I’ve met.
Yes he is a fine player. He has played here in Perth On and once with Corrine West nearby. I do hope he recovers to play again. His last CD was excellent. I enjoy his Christian roots material in particular. I am looking forward to more. Hows the build going. I am just starting my first Venetian cutaway. 12th fret OOO. A Weissenborn may be next, so show me how!?!? Kathy Matsushita documented her build of one, which is helpful.
