To this day, "'Tis but a scratch!" and "It's just a flesh wound!" are shorthand for someone who is in deep, deep denial about how much trouble they're in. 😄
Similar to the joke at the end when they cross the lake in the dragon headed boat with dramatic music playing, only to wade through the same knee deep lake when returning to shore to muster up King Arthur's army.
One of my favorite notes is from a documentary noting that Elvis Presely (Yes, that Elvis) was a Monty Python fan and actually joked, quoting "it's only a flesh wound" after breaking his finger during a family football match. As they noted upon relaying this: "Elvis Presly. Quoting Monty Python. I think we've hit the pop culture singularity right there."
People unfamiliar with history miss that the black knights sigil is a boar's head an animal famous for it's tenacity often ignoring mortal wounds to continue attacking its enemy.
How does no one mention the fact that this "bridge" is spanning what is essentially a ditch lol? Like, walk 50 ft down, and walk through the water. Boom. You've "passed" the black knight.
We call A draw???? How in the hell do you call THAT A draw. No arms No legs and the Black Knight Armor he can't bite him. It's one of the funny things in the whole film.

It takes more than dis-arming the Black Knight to stop him. You have to de-feet him as well!
And the winner of best dad Joke is….
I LOVE how when the first arm gets chopped off you don’t hear screaming, just a simple “oop” as if he just dropped something.
The Black Knight is so petty for kicking King Arthur while he is kneeling and praying.
One of the most "can do" characters in all of cinema - nothing gets him down.
(except when he loses his legs)
While this whole scene is funny, the kick to the head while hes praying gets me every time 😂😂
Hard to believe this film is almost 50 years old
Anyone else notice just how small the bridge actually is 😂
“Not the point, it’s the principle of the thing.” xD
A small bridge, over a small ditch, which could be simply stepped over anywhere away from the bridge. One of the funniest scenes ever made.
Similar to the joke at the end when they cross the lake in the dragon headed boat with dramatic music playing, only to wade through the same knee deep lake when returning to shore to muster up King Arthur's army.
The area would later become known as Smallbridge.
You could mildly twist your ankle going down that ditch. Why take the chance?

Such an iconic comedy movie from the Legendary Monty Python.
Can't beat a classic Monty Python.
People unfamiliar with history miss that the black knights sigil is a boar's head an animal famous for it's tenacity often ignoring mortal wounds to continue attacking its enemy.
For me, this is the funniest comedy film ever made.

There is a black line between "Never Give Up, Never Surrendur" and "You're a looney"
BK: I move, for no man.
KA: I am no man.
BK: Wuh... Yes you are.
KA: No I'm not.
BK: Look!
KA: NOT THIS DAY!!!
One of the greatest comedic scenes of all time.
This never gets old.
this entire fight scene is still my favorite part of this movie (besides the Legendary Black Beast of AAAAHHHHH!)
This channel puts out a lot of new videos every day 👍
may tis but a scratch and only a flesh wound never die
Do the French taunting next if you’re gonna stick with this movie!
Most. Iconic. Line. EVER. Who else agrees?
He is very single-minded, this is how a real knight should be
We call A draw???? How in the hell do you call THAT A draw. No arms No legs and the Black Knight Armor he can't bite him. It's one of the funny things in the whole film.

Black humor at its finest.
