My mom doesn’t usually watch horror movies, with rare exceptions. This is one of them. She was grossed out, but at the same time, she was laughing her head off. 😊
My dad doesn't either, he's very old school westerns. But him watching this movie is the hardest I have ever seen him laugh at something in my life, so much that he started hyper ventilating.
I would have loved to have been a the pitch for this movie. "So, let me get this straight. You're going to drop a live person into a wood chipper where they'll scream and thrash around until dead. And this is a comedy?" "Yep, it'll be damn hilarious!"
I'd argue they don't make movies like this before this movie. I don't recall a slasher movie where the "killer" is just the victims accidentally killing themselves in different ways.
TBH, headfirst into a wood chipper is pretty quick. I mean, it ain't ideal, but most things I've seen are a good bit slower and more painful. Also, you'd make some pretty good mulch. Maybe cremation is overrated?
