I am a dental hygienist, and for years I have recommended to people to brush and floss after dinner NOT right before bed. My reasoning is because most people get too tired and skip night time oral hygiene but if done after dinner it’s more likely to occur. Now we have 2 good reasons to do it after dinner!!

I have found what I really like is having it something warm in the evening not necessarily food. Tea works. Plain tea and I sleep better having something warm before bed. Tea and a book keeps me from eating.

Dr Becky you are the voice in my head when it comes to my eating lifestyle. I only used to have OMAD for many years but I find as I get closer to 68 I found that the one meal was as you say, burning the candle on both ends. I now have a breakfast and a medium size lunch, mostly salad at about 12 and I make it through comfortably till the next morning. My eating window is about 4-5hours. Your inspiration is a huge help. Thank you! Regards to Dr Keith❣️

My Partner years ago told Me She likes to brush Her teeth after Dinner, She has done this for years and I started it a while back. It works great. After you clean your teeth you will not want to eat again that evening

Wow. I've just figured this out. A high protein shake (30gram) in the afternoon even if not hungry, helps so much for the evening!

I’ve been chewing sugar free gum, but now I think I’m addicted to it 😮. I look so forward to it because it’s sweet and minty. I’m trying to brush my teeth instead.

After your explanation I guess mine is a cup of hot bone broth. It really hits the spot for me.

My husband almost exclusively drinks a cup of bone broth in place of dinner. I make it for him , I buy rotisserie chicken that are the day old ones I get usually at a reduced price like sometimes a low as$3.50 ..I use the meat for recipes or chicken salad then simmer the bones and skin for several hours in a pot of water , vinegar, onions ,celery ,spices etc .. then strain into containers .. Tastes way better than store bought and I use every bit of the chicken for something..

I think following your book and some videos with some modificatons, I tell people not eating after 6 or 7 helped me the most. Less gas, bloating, indigestion etc. I did chew sugarless gum (not too much though or I get tummy upset) I weaned off most of it but sometimes need a cup of tea or gum. Brushing teeth also helped. I also go to bed by 9, 10 the latest during the week, I am up early for work and that helps also. My sister up until 11 or 12am has it harder.

Fortunately, my husband and I are retired. We decided that it would be healthier to eat our main meal at noon. This has made it easy for me to do time restricted eating and eliminate all snacking. I eat at noon and 4:30. Thats it. In the morning I have coffee with cream in the first cup. In the afternoon I have decaf green tea and at night camomile tea. The warm beverages make a big difference. In the summer I drink water instead of tea.

Protein can spike insulin; so I would not recommend it as a bedtime snack. I have found that a half cup of kefir, or a small keto fat-bomb snack works well. Most of the time I no longer eat a bedtime snack.

As a sales rep for Pique Tea, Becky should no that skipping breakfast is not recommended for several reasons. Also, beware the apple cider vinegar is very caustic on digestive systems and often leads to heartburn. 😫

I have eaten at any and all hours throughout my entire life. I am 50, 5’10.5” and 170 pounds. I run. If I want to lose weight, I exercise more and cut back on calories. If I want to gain a few pounds, I increase my calories above my maintenance level. All of these rules are sick. I have always disregarded the nonsense people like you spew for profit.
