In this video we Will be replacing g the fan speed resistor.
Tools needed are a 5.5mm socket and a T20 Torx. This is a fairly simple job to do. - Авто та транспорт
Just did this , my resistor was hiding in a web of old ass wires and I had to manipulate them to fit the new resistor. That and the cabin filter and blower motor all at the same time. Thank you for this video man.
I received my replacement part, did the install and it worked like a charm. Big thanks man!!!
Thank you I’m glad that you were able to fix your car 🤘🏻
Hey mate just what I needed to see I've ordered my new blower resistor and will be DIY. Thanks so much great video
And have subscribed and 👍 up
Great intro and good content. Can’t wait to get my Touareg or a Cayenne when I get back from this deployment.
Don’t buy one
@@scappel already did, picked up a 08 Porsche Cayenne S. Loving it so far. No issues just knocking out the general maintenance items now.
@@Zionfarm I have an 06 turbo S. What maintenance are you doing
@@scappel awesome brother, well I knocked out the plugs about 2 weeks ago. Did the engine oil with liquimolli all from FCPEuro. Now I got to do the tranny service with the kit from FCPEuro as well.
@@Zionfarm nice. How was plugs? Did you do ignition caps also? I need to do both my cayenne is extremely sluggish and burning 1 qt per month of normal driving. I order a PCV valve diaphragm to start and UPS fucking lost it!
Do u have any idea where is the ac evaporator?
Just wondering if this will help me my fan stays on when my engine is turnt off in my 2003 porsche cayenne turbo will this be the part to get ?
Hey man!! I have a 955 Turbo. AC works and blows great on the far right and left vents in the front seat area. The two center vents nothing. Is this the fix for that? Help!!!!!
Man I have the same problem did you ever solve yours 🤷🏾♂️
How to remove the rear blower cover
I need to get a heater motor resistor for my Early 944 😒 only works in the 2nd speed. Great content!
That’s funny my 944 needs one too but it’s a late car. I wonder if they are the same part number
@@regularmechanic4196 nope of course lol, you can still get one for a late but the early cars they don't make anymore (not from what I could find)
@@RedRoofGarage if you have trouble finding one shoot mark plieman a email or check out his website plyhammersparts.com he parts out 944s for a living and is reasonable with pricing
@@regularmechanic4196 oh yeah I have Mark and Elliott(944barn) on speed dial lol
How did you know you needed that part; what were the symptoms? I’m having blower issues as well and want to make sure it’s the same remedy. Where did you get the part? Great work!!!
Hey Eric the part is in the video description.
They symptoms were the fan would blow very slow or fast on it’s own without changing the settings. Some times fan speed resistors will default the fan on the fastest settings only also.
If the blower motor itself is busted it can also easily be changed by removing 7 5.5mm bolts and without removing the glovebox.
Great
I had my ac working I stared punching the dash and then it stopped blowing why n how to fix thanks
Stuck fan reccomended to replace it
The part when you go on eBay to find replacement trim was funny, we’ve all been there friend. My climate control module is completely dead just stopped working one day, checked fuses all good, relays good, blower motor isn’t old. My question is was your module dead with a bad resistor or can you still operate the buttons and see numbers? They say it’s unlikely the module will just stop working but it does have 190k miles on it so might just be the module itself, trying to figure it out before throwing money all over. Thanks for posting!
My car has 180K, usually the symptom of the resistor is the fan will only work at full speed or not at all, if you can’t see the settings on the climate control then probably likely the module itself is bad. If you live in a well populated area look at LkQ and see if there’s a cayenne in a local junk yard, or you can go to carpart dot com and look at a global list of cars being parted out shouldn’t be crazy expensive.
@@regularmechanic4196 Thanks that’s what I was thinking too, common sense says it’s the module but just always looking for confirmation from other DIYers always helps save time and money. I wish I had an LkQ or junkyards close by, my source is eBay pretty much exclusively. Only $60 so not bad at all, thanks again man.
