actually Lepenski Vir culture were not quite nomadic but according to findings it was the place of trading between different cultures from Europe and Asia. A peaceful society on the mighty Danube. Before the damn it was the deepest river point in whole Europe 82m deep (bottom of river is below the sea level). great video!
just a hint: better say Lower Milanovac than Donji Milanovac, or better say Lepenski Whirl than Lepenski Vir. Other than that this is a great representation of a region that has earliest settlements, first smelting, first calendar, first urban settlements with stone carved plans (Vincha culture) etc. Before the damn was built (Đerdap), there was actual whirl on the Danube where you could drop the leaf or the boat on shore and it would swirl around an come back. That is why people settled there. Have a nice stay next time in Serbia x)
I have never seen as many butterflies in my life as when we walked the path from the parking to the museum of Lepenski Vir. BTW the old house at the entrance is an example of traditional local architecture of the area. Ottoman inspired.
Great vlogs, apart from the absolutely abominable pronunciation. :D I'm glad you got to enjoy some of the sites in Đerdap. Did you know that the archaeological site of Lepenski Vir, much like Tabula Traiana, was moved upslope to be preserved from flooding? (Obviously it was cut up and not moved in one piece.) Also, the Tabula Traiana marks the site of the Roman road that was cut into the cliffs of the Iron Gates Gorge. Traian's bridge across the Danube was actually downriver, near Kladovo just past the hydroelectric dam.
Glad you saw a bit of Eastern Serbia. 🤩 Hope you will find something interesting in Niš. 😬🤔 Stara planina Mountain? At least do eat as much grilled meat as you can, South Serbia is known for it.

Fun fact... Letter C in Serbian language is pronounced like TZ not like K.. So it would be like Milanovatz.. Also letter J is pronounced like Y.. Example, Jugoslavija, Yugoslavia. 😀
😅 I don't know what it is about the letter "c" for us that is so difficult...we seem to butcher it every time😂. Like Subotica...had such a hard time with that one😂
@@mikeandjesstravel1408 Hahaha.. Yes. So it will be like Subotitza. Not like Subotika..also pljeskavica is like pleskavitza.. But it's OK, in time you'll get it. 😁😁😁
I think in Scandinavian languages the J is also pronounced like a Y. :) As for the letter C, think of the words Fancy, Nancy, Dance, Prance, Stance, France, Lance, Chance, Bouncy, Pounce. :) But if you see the C in Cyrillic writing then it's an S. 😂
Lepenski Vir culture is 11.500 years old. Most of the alphabet found in L Vir is still used in Serbian language. As of May we are celebrating year 7529. There’s more than 5000 Serbian words in English language. Because of Austro/ Hungarian , German, England and of course vatican propaganda, Serbian history, language, culture...has been stolen, twisted etc.
hahahaha Your so full of it it's not funny. Your nation has been know for changing historical facts to suit your own agenda. Throughout history you've done this many times.
Serbia is very beautiful and friendly country! With certainly very mild climate and stunning nature
That's active and dinamic vacation !
While on Dunav river, you should visit nearby Viminacium. There are quite things not to miss...
Golubac Fortress was built on older, Roman fortress. it was just upgraded.. so it is much more older than 14th century
You teach us something new every time 👌 thank you 🙏
