Did you actually set the Nvidia or AMD video drivers to use FreeSync / G-Sync? If not, you aren't using adaptive sync at all.

That contrast is horrid. The price is nice but when you can buy the budget 180hz Asus TUF on sale for 260 once a month it doesn't make much sense. 280 right now.
