    When you use the extension piece if you need to cut less than about 550mm the connecting bar blocks the cut out for the rail clamp. It would be better if a short connecting bar was provided to avoid this.
    It's also a pity you don't include a 2mm hex key to adjust the indexing screw when setting up.
    Setting up is quite tedious and involves several assembly and disassembled steps while you adjust the set se we and check the accuracy of the 500mm distance.
    If you supplied a ball ended 2mm hex key and slightly cut out the track to allow the screw to be adjusted without completely removing the extension it would make calibration a lot easier.
    Otherwise it's a good tool and well worth having instead of the widely available 90 degree only rail squares.

      There is a work around for this but the MFT has a considerable larger range for making repeated cuts.

    While Festool was the leader in innovation with the track saw when they first came out, there are companies that are making products that have gone to the next level, TSO and Benchdogs to name a few. Festool needs to step up their game or get left behind.

    • @sz3231
      @sz3231 2 роки тому +1

      Yeah festool doesn’t make anything else innovative besides a track saw and they don’t make any accessories to upgrade their tools. Pretty soon festool will be trying to make innovative products for benchdogs MBT table.

      @@kellybell9235the head company(Tso I believe) of festool just upgraded the ts55 updated the shaper origin and have been making numerous upgrades along their many tools and accessories including the domino. You then have a company like benchdogs who puts all their effort into accessories for one part of the FESTOOL system. And because they can make higher priced upgrades on a hinge or a mother piece of metal bench dog- then festool is no longer leading in innovation? That’s like saying BMW will be left behind by some aftermarket company that upgrades wheels or some part of their car. I personally am glad that Festool is putting effort into upgrades and newer items like the shaper origin and am glad that I can buy Armor bench dog clamps or aftermarket guide rails from TSO. But just like so many people on the internet, feel free to complain about festool.

      @@danthechippie4439 that’s a good question. There seems to be little that this can do compared to the mft when used together with it. I am thinking for what I do, the MFT gives me more options. For example, with the extension rail, your cut must be at least 17” and up to 45”… for me, that’s a little limiting and the MFT would let me cut at about 7-8” wide which is more useful. It has more features than their 90° angle stop for $140.

      That is a metric saw in the video and every track saw I see sold in the USA is metric. I shouldn’t have to special order an imperial measurement in the USA. I have never seen metric used in the USA construction field and I’ve been in it for 30+ years. You should have to special order metric.

      Mine is out of square too. I don't mind to calibrate it, and I did, with 5 cut method, but the biggest issue is that the detent is wobbling when I slightly push it, so it cannot be fixed to perfect 90. I am still trying, but it's kind of frustrating as festool claimed it is "perfect" in this video.
