    What a brilliant video...and what a brilliant car ! The oel change scene just topped it off ! This video would have to be one of the best forms of psychotherapy for a depressed Porsche enthusiast suffering a temporary form of depression. Many many thanks.....gah from Eltham, Australia

    The early 911 shape has never been equalled in my opinion.. and the 912 as a daily driver is just perfect. I live in the Pyrenees and a 912 would be ideal for the mountain roads.. Unfortunately they are unobtainium here at a price I can afford. I enjoyed that drive to the beach! Thanks for the video..

    While vacationing in San Diego circa 2003 I passed on a running 60s 912 for around $3500. I remember the fuchs, and the engine sound from the rear. I have regretted not buying it ever since. Nice vid.

    Nice color, nice relaxing video. Who cares that these 912 only produced 90 hp…it’s the boxer sound and the looks that count. I’ve bought my Porsche some 23 years ago, a 944s2. And beautiful area to shoot this video also. Enjoy life…

    Thanks for the 912 memory, I bought a new Bahama yellow 912 in 66’ ($5,200) from Vasek Polak in Manhattan Beach, CA. Two years later It was sold and became the down payment on our first home.

    Such a beautiful looking car with gorgeous lines, lovely sounding engine too. My first car at 18 years old in 1985 was a 1972 VW beetle bought for £100 off my parents, and there are similarities with the chassis and engine, mine being the feeble whistling 1300 flat four! So wish I had that car today, though! Bright turqoise was the colour, too. MAH 507L Numberplate. I actually can't remember selling it! Thank you for sharing this video.

    Such an easy oil change. Modern cars are a pain with the under cladding and 10 - 20 screws to remove before one can see the oil pan. Then resetting the computer. The vintage cars are simplicity defined.

    Videos like this really help me get through winters in New England!! Your car is a beauty and well-loved. Thanks for the ocean views! Greetings from CT. I use 20W/50 Valvoline VR-1 with high zinc - I might be wrong but I thought synthetic oil was incorrect for flat-tappet engines - just an FYI.

    • @Jerod_Helt
      @Jerod_Helt  Рік тому

      Thanks for watching! I use the VR-1 now. It’s a good oil and easy to find. I used to use the Brad Penn oil which is also good but harder to get. I never use synthetic in any of my older cars.

      Yeah, this oil is actually green. It’s the only oil I’ve seen like this. It makes it easy to identify when you see a spot on the floor. If it’s green you know it’s motor oil👍

      20W-50? That's some crazy thick oil, I've never owned any Porsches let alone OLD 912s I'd love to own one in my lifetime.. Those older engines like thicker oils over synthetics?

    if you put 1/2 quart of oil in the filter the paper will soak it up and help on start up

    • @vintageexcellence
      @vintageexcellence 3 роки тому

      Actually that won’t do anything on this system, it’s a bypass oil system so the oil out the filter just falls into the case, oil after the filter does not go directly into bearings or oil galleys.
