The little kid with the regelia, I just imagine him leading a charge, and the enemy is quiet and everyone's listening, and the little kid does his "oohwhoo" all hell breaks loose
After the memorial for my son, an impromptu procession of his many and varied friends simply began, no planning. The police blocked off the two main streets that led to his home. On that day many people walked to his home and the porch where friends had always been welcome. Someone called out the war cry, several times and very powerful it was on such a day that was full of sorrow, but also anger. The war cry was expression of anger at the unjust death of a friend. It meant a lot to me as the mother of the man we were there to remember. It was quite amazing and i know the person was a true friend to my son. This took place in the southwest corner of New Mexico, the town that my son had hitchhiked to from Atlanta, when he was 18. He loved this place, the Gila Mountains, the Gila River. He had lived here for 17 yrs.
This is cool, and soo sad when I see all these Native American events in the most desolate of places.. They lived in the best places, where there was great flora and game and by the sea... all those premium locations have been flooded by land grabbers.
