And I appreciate your last sentence, to the parents. It's important parents invest in the healing and treatment so that life can become better for the child.. I wish my parents would put more effort on physiotherapy etc.. I can barely move my feet/toes but this gives me encouragement that maybe I can still improve my situation at this age too..

David S. Feldman, MD discusses #arthrogryposis a #medical condition caused by various reasons which results in joint contractures from birth.
Arthrogryposis can affect the #spine and/or a single or multiple #joints such as the hips, knees, ankles, hands, etc. The severity of the disease can range from mild to severe where one child may be able to walk fine and function almost normally while another child may be wheelchair bound with limited to no mobility. Treatment options vary according to the cause and severity of the condition and may include #casting , #surgery , or some combination of the two. In many cases, when treatment begins at an early age, children can gradually become stronger and experience improved joint mobility.
A transcript of the video is available on Dr. Feldman's website at ow.ly/rSLE1.

I was diagnosed with Arthrogryposis from birth and was shocked to notice when moved to finland how in this "educated" county no physician knew what it was, they changed my birth diagnosis from "permanent" to temporary.. in order to attempt lower my disablity benefits and force me into jobs I couldn't handle (such as cleaning, my feet joints are misplaced, my feet twisted and weak).. it's so good to know nowadays in the rest of the world people know more about it, and especially in my country of origin where they treated me since birth in attempting to improve my situation. They even refused to write medical papers around it in order to "not take responsibility"..
I hope more people will learn about this condition and all the other conditions it includes (such as muscle atrophy, arthritis etc)
