When I visited Liberty Island, I learned that the statue is sculpted as walking. Lady Liberty is "walking". She's not standing still "at attention".

There are two timelines that are converging into one- this is the reason some people remember the statue of liberty being on Ellis Island and some remember it being on Liberty Island.

It seems to me this Idea that we are a " Nation of Immigrants" leaves out the efforts of the real forefathers and creators of the USA. They were here, still under British rule and they said, enough is enough! 1:34-1:37 Lady says " Everybody came from somewhere in America" thats not true. Many have this idea we are " A nation of immigrants" While that is true to a point fact is, the USA was started and created by those that were all ready here! No body in the 1400's 1500's 1600's came to the USA they helped create it. It is true our founding generations came here from Europe trying to be free, but my point is nobody in those early days immigrated to the USA it was built by people seeking to be free and fought the British for that right! One could say the USA was built by reffugies. This country is a one of a kind, and yes a mixed pool of those from every where, but the U S A didn't Immigrate here it was created here, by those that were all ready here.
