I don’t know if others have the same experience, but I have bought bottles of sprinkles and the metallic and beautiful colored dragees are extremely hard and dangerous to eat without breaking your teeth! I actually got scared to use them for this reason. Would they soften as they sit on buttercream or on fondant? Just a thought. I also wanted to congratulate you on your new edition to your family ❤️
One of the things I love about the Happy Sprinkle sprinkle mixes is that all of their metallic and coloured balls have chocolate in them, so they aren't hard like traditional dragees. The shapes like the giant lips are a soft candy too. Its only the long strands that have dried spaghetti inside that are hard so I usually take these off before eating.
Thanks so much! I am going to hop over to Happy Sprinkles so I can get these little lovelies! Now I won’t be afraid when I use them to decorate a cake for a customer, unless I use the stick style. I am afraid that the customer will disregard the information and blame me if something happens. I always write up a contract and even go as far as to list ingredients that are allergy sensitive, if they want a gluten free item that I don’t exclusively use GF flour in my kitchen and now I will add the sprinkles if I use them in the design!
