With all due respect, air lines are not a wear item that need to be replaced a lot. All semis run air for their suspension and brakes and while yes, the uv from the sun will eventually cook the lines and turn them brittle that's about every 15-20yrs. If your lines are ran out of the sunlight and away from major heat they will last even longer. The only real solution would be hard lines but those will attract moisture more than dot plastic. With all that said, I do enjoy your channel and it's a great source of info.
Kudos to you for being able to trouble shoot and have the desire to maintain the bag system on your car. The issues you corrected are why I prefer Keep It Simple Stupid KISS approach. Don’t ever want to get “saggy butt syndrome” lol. Once you put in superior struts and shocks, Bilstein brand for me, and quality lowering swings, Eibach for me, or you go with a quality coil over set up you are done and done. In addition to price my rationale is if STI engineers put Bilstein with lowering springs on the exclusive S209 and Bilstein on the somewhat exclusive RA and all automotive reviews rave about the improvement in ride and handling that was all I needed to know.
I agree, only reason I really went on air was because of my driveway being so steep 🙃 i need to get the driveway fixed and I can swap over to coilovers if I wanted to 👀 but it's a decent amount of maintenance to keep it going
@smeedia protip for you, when you cut the air line take a bit of sand paper and chamfer the edge going into the air fitting, doing that has saved my ass countless hours working on semi truck air systems and i would imagine that automotive is quite similar
@@Smeedia yea the quick connect air fittings are a pain in the ass, any time i changed air lines on trucks i change the fitting because the o rings dry out really easy........ if you go to a semi truck dealership the fittings are super cheap!
Love the channel bro, new to the Subi scene myself and I've learned so much from your videos. Great work also just bagged my 19 STI recently... I found putting a higher rated fuse worked for me when running 2 compressors. Hope you get it worked out.
Glad the videos are helping! And appreciate the support. Putting a higher rated fuse in the harness can cause larger issues such as fire or shorting other wires. The amperage being pulled to the compressors is already too much for the fuse, the harness starts to get really hot. Going to try and re grounding them all again 😫
Hey tanner! I’m gonna be bagging my WRX in the next month or so, I’m trying to do a super simple trunk setup like you had at the Beginning of this video! Did you just cut holes in the carpet and mount everything right to the carpet? TIA!
I’m finally bagging the sti on the channel! You already know I’m going to be watching this video another 10+ times for me to get it all right ! 🤣🙏🏻🙏🏻 thanks brotha always clutch!
Been following your build recently love it..keep the content coming....btw ...do all 4 lines have to be the same length..so it airs up and down at the same time??
They dont have to, and it won't make a huge difference unless they're drastically different lengths. Also appreciate the support and happy you like the build!
yo tanner! i connected my ignition source below the fuse box inside the car 15A unit IG1 , but it still says voltage low. do you know how to fix this or where would you put it?

I was going to by my air suspension this month but after your video I’m not sure I want to anymore. Would you still recommend bags and what advice do you have when it comes to preventing leaks and stuff?
I would still reccomend them but you've got to stay ontop of the maintenance aspect. I changed my airlines because they started to leak. Naturally they will move a little and can wear through the lines over time. I suggest changing them every 12-18 months to prevent any potential issues
@@Smeedia A lot of us have been running the same lines for ten + years without any leaks. If you take the time to do it right, one set will last the lifetime of the vehicle. If you ask someone who maintains a city bus, a fleet of ambulances, a fleet of dump trucks, you'll find they run the same exact DOT lines that we tuners use, and again, they are lasting ten to fifteen years in these instances.
Guess I’ll get coilovers, that’s way too much for me! Btw the oem rubber trunk mat has a way better fit than that weather tech if you’re looking for something cleaner 👀
@@Smeedia I felling to a case of "While I am here". Cylinder 4 went low compression, Have to fix the motor so may as well beef it up a bit. Then the 4EAT would not hold the power so it needs a 6MT. Well I have this motor and trans may as well do a rotated turbo and front mount. Car peaks at about 530hp but its dialed back to 22psi and 460hp. Its a freaking Forester what was I thinking.
Looking forward to get this air suspensions in the near future but not today...shittttt 3k not a cheap kit but bet is worth it. Sometimes i hear squeaking noise on the rear side, im suspecting its the struts, or what else could be?

Change the supplied 30 amp fuses to 40’s. Helps a ton
Ended up doing that and lasted a while, my issue turned out to be a bad ground 😅
👍🏻looks great, I like that better than the hardwood floor look people are doing the the trunks. Yours looks like factory if that was an option lol.
Im.not a huge fan of the wood either, us its SO much heavier than a standard matt
How did you screw those rubber clams to your fender well.
Thanks for the vids. Is the passenger front the same as the driver side, grommet wise?
That is a lot of work man.
I question if it's worth it or not 😅
@@Smeedia we're car guys. A $25 JDM air freshener is worth it!!! Haha!
Did you re calibrate after installing the lines and new compressors? Did you check your minimum voltage and the duty cycles?
Yes, re calibrated, voltage was 12V duty cycle 33%

Planning to install one on my new STI. What can you say about installing the tank pump and brain right at the back of the back sit?

I would try moving it to the 12V cigarette lighter fuse 🙏
Is that a 4 gallon or 5 gallon tank?
🔥🔥🔥 making me want one
hey, are air suspension kits such as this one reliable, like, will you have to fix them often
Yessir, never really had any issues with this kit
how did you mount your controller in that position that its in??? I really like the look.
Ebay mount that I came across, was around $20 or so 🙏
