    I used a different brand LED which contains a cooling fan on the body for a year or so, and the output was noticeable over a halogen.

    Look for Alla Lightings 3000k series LED fog lights. No colored lenses needed. Super bright and very reliable performance in sub zero temps. Does great for fog rain and snow in Colorado!

      Listing says 2800Lum, dont know if thats each or combined total Lums but theyre very bright!! Have them installed as foggies in my 2011 Mazda 2 Sport :]

    Thank you, another upgrade to consider. I think the overall look was better with your original set-up , the fog lights being a similar colour to the headlights. Maybe a different LED colour/temp choice might have given a better matched result in terms of colour.

    I find what really holds aftermarket led bulbs back is that alot of them have leds that point to the side of the bulb. And given that LEDs are very directional, it makes them not work well. The reason they work well in higher end cars equipped with led lights from the factory is because they live in housings that were engineered for them to properly direct the light out. Kind of a "if the housing wasnt designed for it, it wont work well" kinda thing.

    • @HiroshimaSpirit
      @HiroshimaSpirit  3 роки тому

      And that was my end verdict. They’re not designed for it. That’s the main reason why I made the video, in hopes that people will stop asking me to do LED headlights. lol

    There is one other advantage to the LED. you will probably never have to replace it.
    I put LED globes in the main headlights this week and it made a HUGE difference! It I agree that there is not much difference in the fog lights, except for the colour to match the now LED headlights.

    For a good LED headlight upgrade (opinionated review) Get the Hikari's!! Brilliant bright light, even in reflector housings!!

    looks like it just narrows down the light beam and make it less warm. Think the best would just be to make and design your own full LED ring.

  • @Sideways02

    I'll have to replace my yellow tint on my foglamps. They've been burned and have a nice red/black spot on them now. Might just remove them.

    You should try a H11 to H9 retrofit. You can stay with halogen bulbs and increase the light output.

      @@sgomez3047 I don't have a 2 but I have a 6 that uses the same bulb. I've got pictures of the H11/H9s on and installed. I went with 3500k bulbs off of amazon to get a yellow color. You can go with LEDs or halogen lights for the retrofit but I'd highly recommend sticking with halogen bulbs in a reflective housing.

    Hey josh, i know youve sold your m2 but i wanted to ask anyway. In my country small projector led bulbs are a fad (vs the regular projector ones with housing and bulb separate). I was wondering if you think it woudl be a good idea to put that on the m2 fog light.

    Hi. When i bought my mazda2 sedan 2014, i didn't get the one with the fog lights because at that time i didn't need it... But now i need them... Is it true that i need to basically change all the wiring then change the whole mechanism in the steering just to add those fog lights? Thanks!

    Are there projector headlights available for these cars as imo, the halogens dont help the car age

    • @HiroshimaSpirit
      @HiroshimaSpirit  3 роки тому

      Help the car age? That’s an interesting thing to worry about with these. I don’t think it matters much for a car that was inexpensive from new and will never be collectible, but yes there were projector headlights available in markets outside North America. Retrofitting is also an option.

      It’s never going to be a “fast” car. You can spend thousands in parts and labor and you’ll maybe make 130whp reliably. Forced induction adds decent power, but significant complication, and the gearbox is only good to about 180whp/tq before they start grenading. A decent turbo or supercharger setup that works well will realistically cost $10k by the time you’re done. My advice? Enjoy it for what it is. Do a track day, learn to work with the 100hp you’ve got, and beat up on faster cars anyway.
      If that’s not enough, buy a Fiesta ST.

      @@HiroshimaSpirit oh damn bro that's hella expensive.. and yeah I agree with your advice aswell man. Do you have any recommendations for my sister her budget is £5,000? She doesn't want a mazda 2 since she has already driven one of them before.

    • @HiroshimaSpirit
      @HiroshimaSpirit  3 роки тому

      That’s what happens when there is zero aftermarket support for a car. Everything costs extra because it has to be custom made. I still recommend the Mazda2 as a car. They’re excellent machines that won’t let you down. They’re just not fast.
