The only differences between gt2 pro and gt2 is the fact that gt2 pro has titanium frame and sapphire display, but other than that it's the same as gt2. The GT 2 is half of the price, so be careful on what are you choosing.
Great review as always. A couple questions does it has the calendar view feature as the samsung Galaxy watch 3. How you will compare it agains AMAZFIT gtr 2

i'm thinking the same, i'm looking for a new watch, i'm bit of a samsung consumer, gear s3, watch, active 2, the fit 2 for the sleep tracking, i like the new watch 3 design but i'm a bit tired of the same OS and the low battery, this huawei looks so beautifull, but the laggy OS (on videos looks like it or i am used to samsung smoothness)and that "no idea what app the messages come from" not a single icon.. i don't think i can jump to it.. i dunno xD
The part with the lags is not great. But I am used to it already. I still love the GT2 series and keeps on being my choice for a smartwatch. Although the Ticwatch Pro 3 lately gives me a lot of reasons to think twice.

Yes, that is too much to ask! The list of drawbacks is pretty much all I care about in a smartwatch. Right now GT2 (non-pro) can be found at dirt-cheap prices. Major differences are build quality and wireless charging. If 2x the price is worth it - then of course. I quite like the Pro because of the design.
Dear Michael, I really like your reviews and was eagerly expecting the one for this watch but I'm kind of disappointed again by Huawei and their implementation of the notification system on non-Huawei phones. No, I'm not complaining about the lack of functionality to respond to notifications but rather the fact that the notifications are out of sync with the ones on the phone and I have to dismiss them manually on both devices separately. This is extremely annoying and is in fact not the intended behavior but rather a bug that's present on most/all non-Huawei/Honor phones ... or at least this is the conclusion we've reached with Huawei/Honor support an year ago when I had bought the Honor MagicWatch 2. I've tested it on OnePlus, Samsung, Sony, Xiaomi and all these were not able to dismiss/clear the notifications in both directions while if you use a Huawei or Honor phone the notifications are in sync - if you dismiss something on the phone you don't have to do it again on the watch and vice versa if you dismiss it on the watch it's also cleared from the phone. Sadly my guess is that this has something to do with the non-official support of the HMS Core and the Health app and we'll probably never get a solution. Do you have access to a Huawei or Honor phone and are you willing to test and confirm my conclusion?
Hey Dimitar, thanks for sharing all your thoughts! I very well understand your frustration and if you want the notifications to act otherwise - it makes perfect sense. I can confirm that on Oneplus, Xiaomi and Samsung the behavior is as you describe. Sadly, I have no EMUI based device here to try it out... Maybe you can ask Huawei's support about that.
@@TechMishka I did ask them and they are blaming the other manufacturers' phones for not working correctly. Typical support position. I did show them how it works just fine with my phone (OnePlus 7T) and my Xiaomi band but they still didn't accept it as a problem of their app/device. So I guess I'm out of luck and I have to wait for another manufacturer to make a (semi)smart watch that looks good and can last at least a week between recharges. :(

@@_AlexTheMonke_ yes, thats true. I even have the titanium version for 1100. But spotify, reply with some short messages and payments cannot justify that big price difference only. Also the samsung watch 3 has spotify and reply on messages.
@@janslop You can pay by NFC with GT2 Pro, atleast after the last update. And yeah those non existent replies are kinda a bummer on GT2´s. But overall they are pretty good smartwatches
Even with just a week - it;s great. You may disable some of the battery intensive features - less notifications, less detection, HR tracking intervals, etc.
Just bought today gt2 pro as an advance xmas gift and yeah its an amazing watch! Sad thing, i cannot connect spotify music in my watch! any idea pls? thanks
Huawei GT 2 has google playstore, costs less gives more although neither will allow you to delete the options that you don't want. Samsung allows you to delete options not wanted or used.
Sorry for the brain freeze, I was thinking of my Huawei P20 cellphone when I included google playstore. I really wish I could eliminate everything and just keep the watch face, day, date and time. The rest shouldn't be so difficult to eliminate since you can turn them off.
It is a beautiful looking watch and has great battery life, but is missing many features. I prefer to have 3 or 4 days battery life with the capabilities I need rather than 14 days and missing what I need. But that's just me. I'm not criticising it, far from it. I'm sure many people will be very happy with what this offers and it's Lite OS not Wear OS which is great.
Great review, bit gushy at the start but to your credit you did balance it out with a clear list of drawbacks later. I am really on the fence on this one. Easily the best looking smartwatch but not sure I can live without Strava integration. Looks like GT2 Pro will get Harmony OS but it's not clear if that will finally give Huawei users Strava.
I have encountered some bug in the system, after i update the watch the installation process always stops at 26% unable to restart or turn on/off the phobe. Anyone who can help me ?
Bought it at the weekend, what a great watch but gave it back the next day as there is no way to turn off the Bluetooth or there is no airplane mode. Don't want radiation on my hand 24/7
So had a good play around with the GT2 Pro and I gotta say some of these reviews are on crack or something. Its not worth the money at all! as I mentioned earlier its really just a glorified fitness tracker. I'm assuming most of the reviewers are paid or sponsors in some way or form which is why its not mentioned much but you are better of getting a fitness band if you want the fitness functionality or if you really need some form or 'smarts' then try a fitbit versa 2,3 or Samsung watches. Once the GT2 series gets 'smarter' then by all means its worth the money or if you can get it in a sale only. Huawei Watch Fit is a good device if you want basic tracking (and does 95% of what the GT2 pro does)
Hey Brian - all of what you say if we exclude a few major areas: - design and materials - battery endurance - wireless charging - speaker and microphone Yes, the GT2 Pro is a fitness tracker on steroids, but covering 95% of what most people would use. I am easily giving away options to download useless and unpolished apps in favor of 2-week battery life and something I can chjarge with my phone. For the record - this is my own purchase, just as it was with the GT2 and GT.
Another review that tells about the watch, but does not check how it actually works. How accurate is the pulse measurement, stress measurement, blood saturation, GPS. How the watch performs during sports, after all, Huawei touts them as sports and fitness devices.
Each one of these topics are shown and explained in the video. If I show comparisons side-by side with Oxymeter and HR monitor, someone will else will question the qualities of the comparison devices and so on. There's a section in the video showing the details about sports activities - and as stated - they are very accurate.
Alot of paid reviews unfortunately - Check out these review that tests the heart rate sensor on the watch fit (same sensor as gt2 pro i believe) - ua-cam.com/video/3OQ3jzVSkeM/v-deo.html - The results are really good - maybe worth looking at the fit
Looks great, great materials but for such a price I'd want more from the software I guess. I hope something huge will happen in the smartwatch market, we either get amazing watches with not smart enough and capable software, or sometimes really bad looking ones with not that good materials though pretty nice software, and the prices well, I still have hard time justifying them. But maybe it's me and I'm expecting too much? Probably some old movie about Mars that they had a pretty much fully capable flexible big screen on their hands :-) Honestly I'd love Zack to check this screen but I think smartwatches aren't his thing usually and I doubt he will stumble on this one, US doesn't really sell Huawei products now.
Sadly, you seem to be right about all that (especially the part with the Sapphire testing). Maybe the Ticwatch Pro 3 is some light in the tunnel. Let's see about it.
I hope they bring Celia soon to GT2 pro and may be some useful apps also otherwise its just a fancy watch without much features. As of now it doesn't support emojis forget about the replying the text and viewing the photo etc

I really like your reviews and was eagerly expecting the one for this watch but I'm kind of disappointed again by Huawei and their implementation of the notification system on non-Huawei phones.
@@TechMishka
I did ask them and they are blaming the other manufacturers' phones for not working correctly.
:(
@@DimitarPankov That's a shame! Looks like they don't really care. :(
Oh, what a beautiful review. This is the best review that i have ever seen on this gadget. Thank you! :) :D
Wow, thanks! So kind of you to say this 🙃🙃
@@TechMishka 🙏🙏🙏😁😁👌👌
Will this look good on a small wrist?
I think so.
Most informative video about the GT2 pro !!!
Is there any suggestion on how to voice record on it??? i am a journalist and it can be proven very useful at times....Merry Christmas to all
Thanks mate! Last time I checked there's no way for voice recording. Hopefully Huawei will add such a feature.
Do an updated video on the watch thanks
Let me think about that.
wait how don't you have the whatsapp icon? GT2 has that including gmail messages instagram and such, somethings missing in your watch I think
Crazy, right?! Yeah, I also couldn't believe it doesn't have the Whatsapp icon, but... and still no Emojis.
Looks great, I'm waiting for my Ticwatch E2 to die to go with a GT. Great video as always!
Sounds like a cool plan! 😀
Nice review. If it had Spotify, payments and short reply on messages I would buy it. I stay with my Garmin Quatix 6 which has all these features
Yes same here. I find these ommissons too much for me.
Yeah, these are significant drawbacks for many...
But GT2 pro cost $390.00 and Garmin Quatix 6 cost $750. So there is a big difference in price
I Bought Gt2 Pro but unable to get battery life for 2 weeks as claimed. It's hardly one week with normal usage.
Even with just a week - it;s great.
You may disable some of the battery intensive features - less notifications, less detection, HR tracking intervals, etc.
look expensive and luxury i need it
Cool nickname, man!
Just bought today gt2 pro as an advance xmas gift and yeah its an amazing watch! Sad thing, i cannot connect spotify music in my watch! any idea pls? thanks
Unfortunatly, you can not.
@@Jaws8u4t hoping they will do something about it during the update
Nice to see early Christmas gifts.
You can control music over spotify if it is the running app on the phone.
Huawei GT 2 has google playstore, costs less gives more although neither will allow you to delete the options that you don't want. Samsung allows you to delete options not wanted or used.
The GT2 doesn't have play store.
Sorry for the brain freeze, I was thinking of my Huawei P20 cellphone when I included google playstore. I really wish I could eliminate everything and just keep the watch face, day, date and time. The rest shouldn't be so difficult to eliminate since you can turn them off.
I got the GT2 pro today, Abit slow because small Ram
Yeah - hardware is rather weak. But features are awesome.
Totally agree with your points. It's all about priorities. I think you may like the TIcwatch Pro 3 in that sense.
Yeah, I still cannot get why they don't add Strava to their app...
Just got this for 175€ (customer return), should arrive today! I guess not bad at all for that money
Price you got it at is fantastic! Enjoy.
I have encountered some bug in the system, after i update the watch the installation process always stops at 26% unable to restart or turn on/off the phobe. Anyone who can help me ?
Sounds bad! Try asking Huawei's support - they may know better.
Very very soon I will get a Huawei Watch GT2Pro.
Enjoy wearing it!
You got?
@@wajidali152 not yet
Bought it at the weekend, what a great watch but gave it back the next day as there is no way to turn off the Bluetooth or there is no airplane mode. Don't want radiation on my hand 24/7
You can always turn it off at night.
ticwatch 3 pro vs huawei gt 2 pro please....
I will think about that... 😎🥳 Both of them are featuring here and there's a nice comparison chart at the end. ua-cam.com/video/9oeNRG1mJjU/v-deo.html
Huawei Watch Fit is a good device if you want basic tracking (and does 95% of what the GT2 pro does)
Hey Brian - all of what you say if we exclude a few major areas:
- design and materials
- battery endurance
- wireless charging
- speaker and microphone
Yes, the GT2 Pro is a fitness tracker on steroids, but covering 95% of what most people would use.
Alot of paid reviews unfortunately - Check out these review that tests the heart rate sensor on the watch fit (same sensor as gt2 pro i believe) - ua-cam.com/video/3OQ3jzVSkeM/v-deo.html - The results are really good - maybe worth looking at the fit
let's be honest its a brilliant fitness tracker but it's a useless smart watch lol give it Spotify and NFC payments and it will be absolutely 💯perfect
Yeah... and LTE edition. Maybe some day.
Can it play spotify?
@@joshuatan3353 You can control spotify that runs on the phone
That's a good looking watch but couldn't justify paying double the GT2e for just good looks.
Pretty sure the price will soon go down.
My only negative is no contactless payment
Yeah, would have been nice!
Probably some old movie about Mars that they had a pretty much fully capable flexible big screen on their hands :-)
Honestly I'd love Zack to check this screen but I think smartwatches aren't his thing usually and I doubt he will stumble on this one, US doesn't really sell Huawei products now.
Sadly, you seem to be right about all that (especially the part with the Sapphire testing).
Maybe the Ticwatch Pro 3 is some light in the tunnel. Let's see about it.
@@TechMishka Hope the adaptation of the Qualcomm 4100 will get faster, it can give a good boost to all that area
Guys I bought this one, everything is good but the screen refresh rate is low, laggy. On your own risk.
Yeah, hardware inside is not blazing fast...
Yep i noticed the same... although Watch fit was actually pretty good
I own a honor watch . Come on man ,it's awesome.
Yup!
I hope they bring Celia soon to GT2 pro and may be some useful apps also otherwise its just a fancy watch without much features. As of now it doesn't support emojis forget about the replying the text and viewing the photo etc
Maybe Huawei have some good plans about Harmony OS.
If only it had a map-feature and could import gpx-files to navigate by in ultra-running, then this would be the one-and-only watch !
And Strava support too. Yeah... dreams! 😆
Looks amazing, great materials and great battery BUT no pay option, no ECG capability, no message reply sadly I can't justify buying it.
If these features are your priority - then better go for Android or Samsung device.
50 apps in appstore now and prices down to 150eu!!! best smartwatch below 200eu imo
Yup! Agreed.
