Sorry for the late response, i didnt see you in the reply. So thats one way, but kinda looks messy like a clown. If you pick it out with a pick once its dried with product it will get bigger. The bigger it gets depends on how much of your curl you pick out. Remember the pigger it gets is the less curl you get so i find the sweet spot half way.

Also bought some comb pickers for my perm how exactly do I go about that if I haven’t washed my hair with soup or anything yet
The usual waiting time to thoroughly wash your permed hair is about 48 hours on average (unless told otherwise by your stylist) but after the 48 hours you should be good to wash it with shampoo and conditioner but also make sure to get shampoo and conditioner that is sulfate free and i also only use shampoo 2-3 times a week but thats me you can use it however you want

I also use an anti dandruff conditioner which strips the scalp and dries your hair a bit but it’s the only thing that gets rid of the flakes. Will this affect my perm when I get it?
t probably won't. However, you will have better experiences if you use shampoo and conditioners made to moisturize your perm will be less dry and look better

This is my first perm and i don't wanna ruin it, hopefully that shower will help it. (Im also gonna use native curl shampoo and native curl conditioner, are these good products?)
@@NickRants oh yeah one more thing I didn't think about. My stylist said not to blow dry it for 2-3 days and I wanna go out and bike but wind is blowing through my hair. (I don't have my PC rn so I basically just bike and workout all day so it's hard to just sit down and do nothing for a day so I don't mess it up)
@@crippledmonkey7218 Your hair will always reset in water so anything with looks is temporary, i say to avoid blowdrying when you dry your hair because it will cause more friz and less definition. However it wont damage it if you use it or have wind constantly blowing in your face, your perm will just look a little loser
Yes I can, i can make that soon, if you want tight curls I’d say about your eyebrows and let them grow out. Even if you get it done short if it’s tight curls they will grow into spirals
when i try to do the afro comb technique when its dry like you said it makes my hair more frizzy and doesnt look like yours and I'm using a pick (used curling cream and after a shower)
@@NickRants I guess I just need to know the steps I should be taking everyday after the 48 hour mark, so like when I get up for work I, 1.shampoo 2.conditioner (cold water), get out dry hair with t shirt 3.apply curl cream 4.Apply leave in conditioner ? So would these be the steps ? And i know to not shampoo everyday but should I conditioner every single day? Sorry I know this is a lot lol.
@@lolyes832 you can, I usually don’t because I don’t like to risk it, but technically there is no proof that water by itself effects perms. So completely up to you just don’t use shampoo or conditioner for 48 hours
so im deciding in getting a perm soon. I want a modern perm like how other people have their curls all the way till their back like not a mullet but I think you get the point as well as having the curls long on the sides so that you can get a low taper. How long should my hair be for me to get these results??? Also, for the bonnet do we have to use it everyday when we go to bed or just the first 48 hours?
I’ve gotten 5/6 perms and I’m needing one now but I’ve noticed my hair getting kinda dry and idk what to do. I’m scared to get another one, do you think it’ll be fine ? I use Shea moisture products and do hair masks once a week
I had my hair permed for a week now and the frizz on my hair is getting worse. Is there any suggestion to avoid frizz? And also Is it okay if I rinse my hair with cold water everyday?
How often do you shampoo/ use your product in a week? I heard somewhere that it’s better and healthier to do once or twice a week. (Natural hair) and when you done showering do you just Air dry them after using a T Shirt to dry it a little? Or use a special kind of blower? Also, is it fine to wet your hair when you in a pool or sea? Does it ruin the curls?
It’s okay as long as you wait 24 hours to be in the pool or sea. If you don’t put product in after it may look frizzier then you’d like but it will all reset with water. Use a tee shirt is my best advice for drying your hair. I shampoo about 3 times a week, i condition everyday or everyday I shower. That will help keep it moisturized. Don’t shampoo more then 4 times a week and you’ll be good. Don’t use a hair dryer unless you need it dry very fast. I’d recommend just air dry after scrunching with a tee shirt
@@ThatJew305 yes, I even use it with my straight hair, Marc Anthony instantly thick shampoo and conditioner is the best product for its price! Obviously those 70$ products from Sephora are better but you can’t beat these for 13$ each

Yeah you’ll be fine, you should look into some shampoos. I just used whatever my ma or sister had. And definitely wanna pick up curling cream! I use Cantù shea butter coconut it’s $10

@@NickRants okay , so in the morning since I already shampooed tonight should I only just conditioner ? And then once I get out use leave in conditioner ?
You can do it without the bonnet as well. Bonnet is for if you want your perm to look decent for the first 48 hours since you can’t shower. It prevents your hair from getting caught between your head and pillow and becoming flattened. Usually it’s okay because you can just shower to reset it but you can’t shower the first 48 hours so it helps your perm start looking for
whats ur routine like mines like conditioner every 2 days and shampoo once a week and in between these days i dont condition or shampoo hair i damp my hair and use shea moisture leave in this a good routine been working so far. also ive been using olaplex its amazing
Yes sounds good. I shampoo usually 2-3 times a week. I will definitely check out olaplex and let you know what I think, I think what your doing is good. Keep it up
I wouldn’t recommend products, just water is fine but it can cause it to stretch since your hair being wet adds weight and can affect how it settles but it should be fine for water. Don’t wash it or put products until the 48 hours is complete

Should use a cotton shirt after every time i get out of the shower, or just for the first few times i wash my perm? your video has helped me alot thank you 🙏
Every time, the problem with towels is they absorb too much water so it drys out your hair a lot faster. It’s not the worst if you use a towel but a tee shirt is definitely better. And anytime, feel free to ask anymore questionsss
It’s been a month now. Every time I apply a curl mouse or cream to my hair. Or even condition. Large amounts of hair gets picked up Should I be worried
Shouldn’t be worried, you are having the same issue I had, it’s nothing internal. Perms naturally make your hair very thin, the issue with that is curly hair gets tangled a lot, when it’s thin and tangled it falls out with little pressure. What I did to fix it was I started using thickening shampoo and conditioner. I’d highly recommend Marc Anthony instantly thick shampoo and conditioner. I had really thin hair before my perm, I used it for 5 years of having a perm, now my hair without a perm is extremely thick so it helps a lot. That’s all you’ll have to do and it will stop!
Hey sorry for really late response! Just saw this, you want to apply it when your hair is damp or wet, you can do it dry but it’ll appear more crusty that way

I got my perm yesterday (didnt see this video) and i didnt sleep with a bonnet and i used a small amount of water with a pick a few times to style it and my hair is less curly and more frizzy. This is my first perm and i don't wanna ruin it, hopefully that shower will help it. (Im also gonna use native curl shampoo and native curl conditioner, are these good products?)
@@crippledmonkey7218 wait 48 hours to shower, no bonnet is fine, it will fix once you shower! Everything else you did should be fine
@@NickRants Alright thanks man. I thought i mentioned it in my comment but I was planning on showering tomorrow about 50 hours after getting it done.
@@crippledmonkey7218 that’s great! Your hair should have no problems
This man so fckin funny bruh💀😭
Yo bro thanks si much i was worried bc my hair doesnt look that curly and also is it okay to use a silk cover to sleep on with a perm??

@@soulbond9954 no, only for the time being, it will reset in water
Is it normal to get some frizzy hairs around the edges from just after getting the perm to 48 hours until I wash ?
Yes, just wait for product
Even on the days you don’t shampoo or condition do you still put the leave in conditioner and defrizz in?
yes, you can do what ever you like with the products. I would recommend showering before the products tho
i’m getting a perm soon but i’m not sure if my hair is long enough, can you make a video of how long you recommend hair to be for a perm
How often should I shampoo and condition my hair after perm?
If you shower you should always use conditioner, don’t shampoo back to back days. So don’t shampoo more then 4 times a week
Should we wait the 48 hours before using any curl enhancing creme?
Yes, I would recommend that, you could get away with it, shouldn’t do much damage but I would wait the 48
Do I need conditioner and leave in conditioner ? Or can I just use conditioner in the shower and then rinse it out ?
You can use both, conditioner is for when your in the shower, leave in conditioner is an after crème
@@NickRants I guess I just need to know the steps I should be taking everyday after the 48 hour mark, so like when I get up for work I,
1.shampoo
2.conditioner (cold water), get out dry hair with t shirt
3.apply curl cream
4.Apply leave in conditioner ?
So would these be the steps ? And i know to not shampoo everyday but should I conditioner every single day? Sorry I know this is a lot lol.
So i basically did everything he said not to do 😂
How long should I wait to get it redone? I’m 1 month out!!
3-6 months I’d say
And what shampoo should I use?

Nick so if i finished my perm friday at 3, is it fine if i wash my hair sunday at 3?
@@sonnynamburi-z1l yes that will be fine😊
@@NickRantshey nick can i shower after 24 hours with just water?
@@lolyes832 you can, I usually don’t because I don’t like to risk it, but technically there is no proof that water by itself effects perms. So completely up to you just don’t use shampoo or conditioner for 48 hours
@@NickRants okay thanks nick for the advice

so im deciding in getting a perm soon. I want a modern perm like how other people have their curls all the way till their back like not a mullet but I think you get the point as well as having the curls long on the sides so that you can get a low taper. How long should my hair be for me to get these results??? Also, for the bonnet do we have to use it everyday when we go to bed or just the first 48 hours?
hey nick just got another perm and was wondering if i could wear headphones/a headset over it or will it ruin my curls?
Yes, should be fine, may look a little flatter till you shower but no big deal

Hey Nick how often do I shower after getting a perm? I do a lot of exercise and stuff so I do it everyday but ive heard thats too much
You can shower everyday, just shampoo every other day
@@NickRantsis it ok to use conditioner everyday?
@@cianvincentmaduay2599 yes, no problem
Thank you bro 💯
I'm confused...why do you use two creams? I bought the Sheamoisture coconut smoothie cream, but do I need something else?
No, I recommend 2 creams, you pick one of the two. Not both

Bro i got a perm yesterday and im not a newbie to perms, ive done them like 4 times in the past. Should i shower my hair with jus water or shampoo after the 3 days of letting the perm settle?
I know it's three months later, but do shampoo and conditioner after the three days to help hydrate it
@@Badgxld yes, the shampoo will get rid of buildup on scalp and conditioner will hydrate the curls
Is there a way to make your hair presentable though within the first 2-3 days? I slept with my perm and now my hair is frizzy

how often should I comb my permed hair ?

Just got my perm couple hours ago. Is it normal that the hair is really really dry, should i do something about it or do i just wait the 48hours and then go to the shower and do the same things as in the video?
Yeah you’ll be fine, you should look into some shampoos. I just used whatever my ma or sister had. And definitely wanna pick up curling cream! I use Cantù shea butter coconut it’s $10
So I just washed my hair for the first time it’s been 48 hours. I think I went a little too overboard with the cream and leave in conditioner. Should I wash it out and try again or will I be okay ?
You should us only 1. The cream or leave in conditioner, they are both pretty much the same. You should be good, just let it dry and scrunch
@@NickRants okay , so in the morning since I already shampooed tonight should I only just conditioner ? And then once I get out use leave in conditioner ?
@@RezahVAL yes, that should be good
Can my hair get wet with a perm? (before first 48hrs)
Waters okay, nothing else
for the first 48 hours we can sleep as long as we have the bonnet?
You can do it without the bonnet as well. Bonnet is for if you want your perm to look decent for the first 48 hours since you can’t shower. It prevents your hair from getting caught between your head and pillow and becoming flattened. Usually it’s okay because you can just shower to reset it but you can’t shower the first 48 hours so it helps your perm start looking for
@@NickRants bet, preciate it💯

If i wash my hair with just water before the 48 hours can i put products in my hair or will it mess up badly like cantu?
I wouldn’t recommend products, just water is fine but it can cause it to stretch since your hair being wet adds weight and can affect how it settles but it should be fine for water. Don’t wash it or put products until the 48 hours is complete

Should use a cotton shirt after every time i get out of the shower, or just for the first few times i wash my perm? your video has helped me alot thank you 🙏
Every time, the problem with towels is they absorb too much water so it drys out your hair a lot faster. It’s not the worst if you use a towel but a tee shirt is definitely better. And anytime, feel free to ask anymore questionsss
on wash day when i shampoo and condition should i put product on damp or dry hair or does it really matter

Should I shower every night or every morning?
Every morning. If you shower at night it won’t look as nice because your hair will got caught between your head and pillow and won’t be as diffined
It’s been a month now. Every time I apply a curl mouse or cream to my hair. Or even condition. Large amounts of hair gets picked up
Should I be worried
