I'm leaning towards accepting, and researching from the Bible this information presented by one of my favorite pastors here...but let's say what he shared is the gospel truth, black people were disobedient and turned away from God to worship idols...we are either under a curse, being punished, or are suffering the natural consequences,nor all three. When will it end? Has it been four-hundred years already? Our suffering, as a people, is more than we can bear! HAVE MERCY ON US DEAR GOD!
I am truly thankful that God, in His wisdom, created me a BLACK female, but am I cursed or living under the shadow of a curse? I honestly need to know. I don't understand what is still happening to God's children with the dark hue skin tone. Why are we so hated all over the earth? Why are we still so oppressed,;even the ones who are living as obediently to God as best as we know how. Why are good-paying careers being withheld from us, even when we have the degrees and qualifications? Housing sales, bank loans, fair opportunities, etc.? The harder we fight, the more the evil, hateful knee of oppression rams into our necks to discourage, instill fear and snuff out our lives. WHY?
People called Jews may be of some kin to ancient Judah, but they are mostly mixed with European and have adopted the religion of the Pharisees, which is not the same as the teachings of Abraham, Moses, the prophets, Jesus, the apostles, and the first Church of Judea in Jerusalem. All Africans, before being carved and conquered, had one thing in common--God was the center of their culture. They were also mostly Sabbatarians than any other people. There was more evidence of Israel in Africa than Palestine. According to history, the Canaanites lost their identity to the Greeks. All of Judah's descendants were Canaanites mixed. The tribes of Joseph (Manasseh and Ephraim) were Egyptian mixed and Beta Israel was Judah and Ethiopian mixed. Blood wise, there was no such thing as a pure blood Israelite. God was firmly against marrying people who served a different God. Thus, Moses married an Ethiopian believer and so did David marry BethSheba. All were originally black (swarthy) in hue.
Forgotten God? How about the Sabbath keepers that didn't share in the apostasy of Rome for nearly 1,000 years? The Kwaza Zulu were Sabbath keepers, the Akan people in West Africa also kept the Sabbath. There were Sabbath keepers but in the Kingdom of Dahomey. France, a country that was led by Satan and demons enslaved Haiti for 300 years. Haiti's colonial name was Holy Sunday just as the Dominican Republic's capital is called Santo Domingo or Holy Sunday. God freed the Africans from slavery and they were demonized for obtaining freedom by the grace of God. To say that Africans were enslaved because of idolatry is simply not true. The issue wasn't over idolatry, it was over their fidelity to the forth commandment.
Being a Sabbath keeper is not enough. Jews that percussed Christ were also Sabbath keepers, but we see in the Bible that many Jewish people also worshipped idols and so God punished them and scattered them about many times. You see this in the Books of Moses, Judges, lamentations, Isiah and Jeremiah. God has told us that we cannot serve two masters. Jehovah is the one true God. You can keep the Sabbath all you want, but if you’re also practicing witchcraft, voodoo, and worshiping false Gods and idols, it means nothing. God wants us to serve him wholly and completely. Paganism has influenced many people, cultures, and nations. Africa was and is not free of this influence and was subject to the same tricks of the Devil as the rest of the world.
And even while many African nations, even Sabbath keeping ones, practiced idolatry, so did Europeans, Asians, native Americans, Scandinavians, etc. Catholic nations still practice idolatry but in God's name, even today. Why would the "curse" have only fallen on Africans???
I agree with this man of God, his insight to what happens to a people when they leave God. I also agree with him on how wonderful our GoD comes and receives unto Himself those who repent and return to Him. I find that such a man so anointed could and does so miss a simple concept. The Sabbath of old is just that OLD. Paul the Apostle to the gentiles so said in Romans, and many other of his epistles. Our Lord Jesus when confronted by the religious leaders of His day about His followers picking and eating wheat as they walked on the Sabbath. Notice our Lord rebuked the religious leaders, not His diciples. Whichever day one chooses to worship God is fine by Him and me, not that I am anything other than the author of this text. Love the Father, Love your neighbor , and Believe on me is what Jesus said.

My ancestors were Akan. And I am a Sabbath keeper.
