  • In 1990 Donna began a journey of un-learning much of what she knew as she moved from Pennsylvania to Nazareth Israel. Not knowing the language or culture she raised her family amidst an entirely new language and culture. When she repatriated Donna brought back a philosophy of “kairos time” - living in the moment and taking advantage of every opportunity. This talk shares the secrets of discovering and applying the benefits of the kairos mindset.
Donna Duffy, a John Maxwell 2016 Leadership award recipient and author of Embracing Autumn, is a dynamic educator, entrepreneur and visionary, who is passionate about expanding the success of small business owners and entrepreneurs. For almost 18 years, she was a community leader and educator in the Middle East, starting Bridging the Gap, a school for Arab-American students. Back in the U.S., Donna recognized small business owners felt isolated and ill-equipped. She created a weekly roundtable to address business issues, marketing strategies and joint venture opportunities. In 2009, 3E Marketing Solutions, a boutique marketing agency was established. Weaving together her expertise, vision, and humor with transparency, she easily engages and aligns with her audience and clients.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

This is a remarkable teaching, Kairos living is what patience teaching our child or being a parent to our children should be most important. To the identification of the things that count not in time but in eternity. This is the good news. God bless you for this uplifting teaching that there is hope in the master of Kairos that is like the Chinese idea of "wu wei idea of doing things effortlessly, and in order, as they come, being prepared for the outcome and never anxiousness in sequences of things. To thus summarize this flat plane of Cronos which is in appearances, the so-called material gravity robs us of the joy of daily living. In, uncertainty and fear that produces our own stress is a byproduct of our excuse of living in sequences that is dead, and not the way of nature, to take things as they come. Trusting in a totality attitude that is a master to know thy self.

I do believe everyone would love to live in Kairos similar to a time most lived in our childhood. Unfortunately responsibility and needs of others (or not) come first before our own.
We can decide how we can live our lives, yes, but it's very hard to do so in a world ruled by society in meeting deadlines, appointments, scheduled buses trains etc.
It's true, first step is to unplug from society imo.

Depends, if you make your own business and take the time to patiently restructure your train of thought, to infuse Kairos into its culture without losing quality. If you do, the people who work for you and those that left could take those ideas elsewhere, maybe they take root and spread, then the process repeats itself. Slowly, slowly we can change Chronos into Kairos.
