Hi Megan, I'm starting training for easyJet in March and your vlogs have been really useful. One thing I wanted to ask - I've been told that the training can be in two shifts, either 5am (!!!) to 1pm or 2pm to 10pm. I live near Clapham Junction and there are no trains to Gatwick between 0015 and 0438 every day. How would we be expected to get there for such an early start? I can drive - does it cost a lot to park? Thanks so much.
Ahh congratulations 🥳 yes that is true. Your training is preparing you for the job, you will likely have to come to work during those hours when you fly. Some people stay in a hotel nearby but that can be quite pricey, parking is free for staff but you may need to pay on your first day as you won’t yet have a permit! 😌
Hi Megan. I'm going to be starting my EasyJet cabin crew training early next year and I was wondering if you could give me an idea of the rosters that I could get once I have completed my training. Thank you.
Hi Megan. I love watching your channel and used to fly with EasyJet a moderate amount before covid. In April I'm flying by myself for the first time to Spain from the UK (as a teenager) and I'm excited but nervous, so I have a question. Since I haven't flown since covid, are EasyJet still doing the food/drinks service onboard an early morning flight (6am) with covid still around? Thanks, I can't wait for you next cabin crew video, I'm been watching them all.
@@meganrose1259 Thank you! I hate to bother you with questions, but I have another question, regarding something you mentioned in a previous video. I'm unsure as to whether it'll still be the same, as that was 2020, but as a small teen, you mentioned cabin crew not being allowed to help passengers with suitcases/the lockers. It may have changed since, but I was just wondering whether they would bve allowed to help now in 2022, if I was unable to reach the height of the lockers on the plane? Thank you for your help and informative videos :)
@@Becky_D06 I don’t mind at all so ask away! The crew can help you if you ask it’s just that we don’t stand in the cabin anymore so just press a call bell or let them know on boarding 😊
Hey Megan! I’ve got my virtual assessment next week! I am super excited! I was wondering though, my family and I have had a holiday booked in august to go away for 11 days- we’ve moved it twice as we were meant to be going there in 2020- but because it was pre booked I wasn’t sure how it works. When filling out the admin form it had asked for pre booked holidays- does that mean I’d be able to get the time off with it being pre booked before I even start working? Hope that makes any sense! Xx
Amazing, good luck 😌 They can try to honour it but I wouldn’t say it’s certain, the best thing you can do is mention it to them, it’s likely that if you are successful, your training will be done and dusted by then and you may be able to just book the time off, I wouldn’t want to give you a definite answer though because I don’t fully know and august is a hard month to get time off because of the summer hols xx
Sorry to ask such a personal question, but what is the ‘basic’ / junior cabin crew pay like? I’m very tempted to apply, however I now have a mortgage and bills to pay and live on my own… so I’m just a bit worried that this job wouldn’t pay as well as my current job - which is kind of what I need to make sure I can pay those bills! 😅
I understand don’t worry! Are you asking about the EasyJet wage? If so - it has actually changed since I left! I believe it’s around £15k basic a year and then you get your sector pay and commission on top of that but unfortunately when I was there I was on the old wage so I couldn’t really give you an accurate monthly take away 🙃
Hey i am only a kid in secondary school and i really want to be cabin crew and want to know what i could do to try and get my dream job in the future also love ur account
That’s amazing that you already know what you want to do 😊 the best advice I can give is to get as many GCSE’s as you can and get a job in hospitality or retail - anything that you’re going to gain customer service as that is the main thing airlines look for 😊
Hi. My daughter has just got a job for easy jet. The trainer said she would be held in a pool. What does this mean and will she get paid for it? Thanks
Hello! That’s amazing, tell her I said congrats 😁 the hold pool is basically the part of the process where you have secured the job but are waiting for a start date, no you don’t get paid for it, she isn’t officially employed by EasyJet until she has started and passed her training!
There is one in Luton & one at Gatwick, they will only provide accommodation if your training centre is located at an airport that isn’t your base airport
Hi, very informative video. I’m starting my training in less than a month for EasyJet. I’m vegan, will they have anything I can have? Or should I just bring my own
Thank you! Best of luck with your training 😁 for training there will be somewhere in the terminal that will sell vegan food but onboard I’m not too sure, they have literally just switched catering companies when I left in March so I’m not sure what their crew food is now!
Hey! I’m 15 and I am really thinking about doing cabin crew when I’m older because it looks like fun and I really want to travel the world. The only thing is, during training or in the actual job is there many situations where you have to talk/present in front of people, or put on the spot? As I am quite socially anxious so I am wondering if this would be the best job for me or not. Having said that I think I would get used to the routines of the job but its just the training really I am wondering about as I have heard a lot of people saying how daunting it is. Loved the video by the way :)
That’s fab that you know what you want to do already 😁 there are aspects in training where you are required to respond to scenarios but everything you do in training is only in preparation for real scenarios that could happen onboard. However, I wouldn’t worry too much, confidence will come with age and you would need to get a little customer service experience in order to be cabin crew anyway and that will help you gain a bit more confidence socially! Thank you ☺️
That’s really helpful thank you for replying so quickly! Sorry could I ask one more question, do you still get to bid for long haul destinations when you are new to the job or does that come when you have been there a long time? Sorry to disturb you
Hi Meg! I have my easy jet virtual assessment this week! I’m super nervous but really excited at the same time! I was just wondering, I know you said in a previous video you live in Arundel, I live in Littlehampton and was just wondering what the drive up to Gatwick is like everyday? Is it quite tiring or really busy at times? is it better to get the train? Sorry its a load of question, hope you can help😇xx
Hi Lily, amazing! Best of luck 🤩 I did get the train most of the time because of the times that we started I thought it would be better for avoiding traffic and also the training academy is at the south terminal which is where the train station is but I did drive a couple of times and I drive to and from work now and it’s not too bad! About 50 mins to an hour 😊xx
Haven’t experienced it myself but from what I know, you get given a job to do on the ground as soon as you are pregnant because you can’t fly that often when pregnant, and then when you do go on maternity you get a pay of the last 3 months that you worked before you were grounded so a lot of crew try to get pregnant just after the summer because that’s when you earn the most money 🤣🤍
Hey Megan , could you tell me how much is the salary in a month ? I know is depende how many hours are you working but is for to have one idea. Please let me know Thanks 😊
I really hate talking about money publicly but I understand the curiosity behind it, the first year basic is 880 and you can earn anywhere between £200 to £800 in sector pay & commission on top of that. After one year your basic goes up to £1200
I’m based at London Gatwick, it’s not huge but it has two terminals and there are around 2000 crew which is why we always work with different people ☺️
hey, ive been offered an interview today! i sent my availability as that’s what they asked for. i’m hoping i can get one for next week!😀 it’s a 1-1 interview i’m feeling pretty relaxed to be honest i don’t know why though😂
What do they do for background checks? Is it detailed references or anything?
They just literally check that you definitely worked there when you say you did, it’s all to obtain an airside pass 😊
