- Ultimately, Ishin is a great game to hold us over until Like A Dragon 8, which continues the mainline story, eventually releases. It retains pretty much everything that made the original game a fan favorite among those who did play it, while also smartly modernizing what was necessary with a light and deft touch.
It’s hard to think of any fan of the saga who will come away from this release unhappy. If you wanted more Yakuza, you have it. If you were starting to get fatigued, but weren’t completely off the train, then this game is just fresh enough to re-engage you, and just familiar enough to scratch the itch. - Ігри
Yakuza is one of those franchises where you get a lot of game for your money with all the side activities and sub stories. This one was Japan exclusive for a while so I jumped at the chance to finally check it out and actually understand what was happening. I love RGG studios and can’t wait for this along with whatever comes next. Big fan of these titles.
And the sega mini games within some of the games. Endless entertainment
No such thing as a yakuza fatigue for me, yakuza is everything I'm looking for a video game, relaxing settings, chaos, violent, slice of life elements, cheesy side quest etc. The combat is easy but hard to master. Kiryu and Majima are great characters, I wish Rgg continue to cast them as actors for more spin offs if they can no longer come up with a mainline story for them. I'm glad this game is finally here.
Idk man I couldn't stand like a dragon. The combat ruined the experience
@@vipset87 forgot to say except 7 😂 I played all kiryu mainline didnt even remember 7 as part of the series when I typed this 😁
If I can't watch cutscenes and don't care about minigames, should I even bother?
@@AleksandarBloom may not be the game for you, the series has a ton of cutscenes, mini games are optional
@@AleksandarBloom No lol, go find something else if thats the case
This game out of the whole series has probably the best story for me.
One thing I love about RGG Studios and Yakuza games in general is the packed content in each game. I picked up Lost Judgement and still haven't 100% yet. I might get this one
@Paulodigital777 Yeah which I thought was a let down. 0 was the best
I never played lost judgement. Is it worth it? Wtf am I saying it's Yakuza lol....
@@WrenchLord I have 0 are the two sequels worth it? I hear kiwami 2 not that good
I'm just wrapping up Judgement cause I keep going to the Sega store to play the mini games.
Cant wait to pick this one up
I can't wait to play this game. Nice the mini games are where it's at, gonna be great fun lol
Just finished Judgement & need a fresh Yakuza game for the PS5. Played all of them on the PS4, these games got a special place in my heart.
just played demo really over the top combat going be a fun ride
Dominick you sound startlingly like Derek Buck! I had to do a triple take there.
Finished the original time for the remake 🔥🎮🎧
OK we get it
Yea we get it buddy...you're so cool...
Just from the content I’ve seen(given I haven’t got my hands on yet) “Yakuza, Like a Dragon” is hands down the best game when it comes to side activities, miscellaneous task, & optional mini games, & task !!! Just from what I seen without having hands on, like I said. I can tell this game is gonna change & influence gaming from here on out in gaming all around.
I am.only on ch. 2 i absolutely love this game. I kinda like 0 better right now, but it's by far a must by if you like Yakuza. Yes there's. Kiyru and Majima lookig character in these. I love it
I'm glad they took turn based combat sway from this
I understand why this game didn't come out or get an English dub. Cause it released in 2014, still a few years before the JRPG boon of the 2010s where there was little interest in RPGs from East by publishers/developers. Here in the 2020s, the general public is accepting RPGs of any kind now more than ever. A perfect time to release a game of this kind. Thank God it's good too.
Love it at 6:36 when we hear the very strangley edited voice for him saying "brawler game yet" fucked me up at first ngl
Its just a cut lol
My only complaint so far (tho it's a Big one) it's the hyperarmor they gave the bosses that wasn't in the original plus the guard break is useless now
Is it worse than the bosses are in all the other games? They are all pretty ridiculous when it comes to taking damage, ive just come to accept it. Same with how annoying it can be to beat the same boss like 6 times
Yeah that was my problem as well-so far for each chapter boss it’s taken me 2-3 tries to get them down on Normal. Guess I need to git gud
Im only playing this because im still waiting for a new Way of the Samurai game 😂😂
I hated that the bottles they shot right at the start sounded like broken glass, not clay 😉
They were made and sounded different 2 centuries ago 😂
Now I am hoping they redo Yakuza Dead Souls.
Like A Dragon Ishin graphically it is Remastered, because only the English subtitles are used in the United States of America,
Do I have to play the others first or can I start here?
Nope totally different characters while same actors (🤔) this is a fun game
This is completely separate from the rest. The characters of the main franchises are stand ins for historical figures here. This is totally standalone story.
I would still suggest to play Yakuza 0 so you can have context about the main characters particularly Kiryu and Majima, I think if you think an idea of who they are, you'll look at them as actors playing on a different movie in this game 😎 it's an old game you'll get it cheap but dont worry this game is not connected to the main line story, its a standalone with the same characters with different names/roles.
no you don't have to play the others. this is just a spinoff which takes many characters from the main series and poses them as the characters of this game. this game has no connection with the mainline story whatsoever. and if you are interested in jumping into the series, I'd recommend starting with yakuza 0. it's the prequel game to yakuza kiwami that started the journey of kiryu and majima. yakuza 0 is pretty cheap as well in steam. good story, best combat in the series, breathtaking music and so many characters you can feel for
Is audio in english as an option? Puts me off when dont have english audio
The way you pronounce kiryu's name makes me think you never played this game before
Kiryo?
I'd love a Yakuza: Dead Souls remake with better controls.
Is this coming to gamepass?
no i don't think so.
prob in 8 months
Not anytime soon
I love the stories in these games but gameplay is just so awful and janky
They didn't change the game system this was exactly the same with 2011 ori version
First
Lame
@@spiked_palm3134 LOL
This will probably be the last decent Yakuza game since it's not a lousy turn based RPG.
You forget that we are getting another kiryu Game this year, they are not stopping the brawlers
But yakuza 7 turn based system isn’t really that bad? I prefer the brawler system but the turn based stuff ain’t that bad either
Incorrect. RGG has stated going forward mainline games will be that new turn based style (which I enjoy personally) but side titles like Judgment etc will stay true to the brawler formula.
@@Wernershnitzl Dude that’s so tough because goddamn is turn based combat so boring. I refunded y7 and just watched someone else play it was too boring .
@@miles6120 it’s definitely not for everyone but I had fun with it. There was just enough nuance and a little critical thinking to keep me engaged.
I’m also a fan of action games but lately had grown tired of the amount of them I had played through when I finally got around to playing 7.
every game in this series is the same. completely bored after playing a couple of them.
Completely agree with you, sakata. I don't understand how people can put thousands of hours into this series personally if you've played one you've kinda played them all tbh
@@makefoxhoundgreatagain842 Because the actual gameplay and combat is one of the best. They can make 100 Like a Dragon games with same gameplay and I will still buy them. No need to fix something that is not broken
@@anmoldembla4743 each to their own, I'd lose my mind having to play that much yakuza
Not your cup of tea buddy
