- Oh Hey- it's been a while. There are countless careers one can have in accounting and today we will be discussing advisory. Careers in advisory are exciting, quite lucrative, and they offer variety. In today's video I will go over what an advisory accountant does, discussing the varying focus areas from compliance to process improvement. I am also sharing a bit about the skills and experience needed to get into advisory and what the role may look like from client to client.
I have not personally held a role in advisory, so my overview of the career field is somewhat general but should help to provide some insight. If you are interested in this career, it would be a great idea to look at beefing up your accounting certifications. Careers in advisory require refined skill sets, so you will want to be looking for ways to increase yours before heading into this careers. As always, if you enjoyed today's video -- be sure to give it a thumbs up. Let me know if there are any other topics that you would like me to cover.

First! 😍 I was with KPMG Advisory for half a decade. I enjoyed it 🥰
Thank you ☺️ My friends at KPMG have had nothing but good things to say
What are you doing now?

So much great info! Thank you :)
Thank you!
Great Overview. I worked in Forensic Advisory at Big 4 for a few years. Great opportunity/experience to have in your career.
That’s awesome! Forensic accounting is a high sought after position
This is helpful because I just started at one of the big4 and wondering what are the exit opportunities. I am straight from school, I was not too much interested in audit, but was wondering if I shot myself in the foot by not starting in audit first. I am doing more IA and Tech risk.
I think that IT and Tech risk are somewhat specific but still excellent areas to come from. That will set up to able to get into consulting roles going forward. The big 4 experience alone will be enough to take you places.
Look into transaction advisory services and financial due diligence people! Thank me later.
Thank you!
Yeah actually this looks like something I would love to do. So many people online say your job experience is much more important than getting a CFA but I see companies asking for cfa all the time. It's really confusing what to do.
You are so beautiful, would love to meet you.
