Captain, I’m flying to St. Pete, Fl next month and need a travel rod, do you have any solid recommendations? Maybe budget friendly option and a higher end option. Thank you sir @flatsclasscharters
All looks great ! However, what would be a few things needed if your trip did not include a professional guide ? As you know the biggest part of catching fish is seeking out the correct conditions . It can be almost impossible without intimate knowledge of the waters. I heard there is an app that helps with this , do you know the name of it ?
Well, A BIG Ol Welcome to TEXAS, my friend! I look forward to your reports and the video footage (OK, digital movies)! I travel from Austin, TX to Rockport and can completely relate to the overpacking of gear. I, too, bring it all & select my gear for the day in a MUCH smaller tackle box for my kayak! Looks like you are all set up (I do agree with the emergency fall back Poppin Cork (I have fallen in love with the Marker 54 Jerk shrimp - with the hook point up at horn and hook eye up at middle of back - it folds when jerked, like a fleeing shrimp.) Good Luck, Tight Lines, Great times, Great stories, Great Tails!
I bought that exact Mulletron last Saturday at Puglia's in Metairie. The guy mentioned that Man was on special so I went back and added some MinnowZ in Goldfish, curly tail in Pinfish , and Fullerton in Beer Run. I did notice the Trout Trick in Fried Chicken but I already had that. I hope that you don't mind the plug for Puglia's. Sportsman's Warehouse in Slidell also carries a big selection of ZMan this year, the only place that I've found Darterz. Just in case you are driving through that way on your Texas trip.
@@flatsclasscharters I looked up your spot after watching the video and if I’m correct you guys are headed to Mile Nine Hole halfway between Pt Mansfield and Baffin. Should be an epic trip!
You fell down that rabbit hole when you packed you're travel box. I subscribe to 30 miles out Ty Southerland. He's in Rockport and mainly does flats fishing out there and he's a big fly guy too. Good Lu ck
Oh man… long term viewer 1st time commenter. You made me laugh. The only thing you forgot was an extra month of time to fish for how you packed. Have a great time 😂😊

Maybe add a couple popping corks?
I thought about that… might stop somewhere along the way and pick them up.
I really like corks from Egret baits “vudu” and Four Horsemen tackle.

No worries… thanks for the tip!
You’ve got enough to fish Texas coast for a year😂. The lures you’re bringing will do well, and they’re the same ones you’ll find in Texas.
Research pays off!
SW -11 Top water and 1/8 oz jig with down south burner shad. Water nasty throw gulp with poppin cork. Leave that spinning reel in Florida lol
I love my Bates casting reels
Take lots of notes Capt, many of us here in Texas eagerly await!
Couldn't have said it any better than that
I’m going to be paying attention… you learn something from every outing

Like the idea of the rod holder. I lost my favorite rod.just disappeared from out back of my place.😢
It comes in handy!
Safe travel to Texas and tight lines.
Thanks!
Bring the beer rum my favorite
