Richard! Great to see you my friend! You were one of the head instructors at Tom's school and actually taught much of my Standard class back in 1995. Really enjoyed all of the great things you shared with us and am still practicing them 20+ years later. ...now sharing them with my kids! Awesome to see you on here! :D
Great video Richard. I am going to share on my FB. Everyone should know this survival skill.
Thank you Earthy S:)) Much appreciated! The most important skill and perhaps the least practiced..
Beautifully done!
I'd love to have this over the opening to an underground shelter.
There are ways to do that Kate! I have done such and teach these things:)) Thanks for your comment!
Sounds like good emergency information. I look forward to testing out this idea for fun!
I'm not sure but ,if anyone else wants to uncover how do you build a survival shelter out of sticks try Franaar Escape Death Formula (do a search on google )?
Ive heard some great things about it and my colleague got great success with it.
Why haven't you got more views? Very good vid, I'm going for day camp tomorrow with family and will try this for fun.
This is really great to know... Just from your video, I feel I could do this. Thank you! :)
You're welcome! Thanks for your comment:))

@CougarClan you're welcome.

Thanks! Remember this is a skill that requires practice, just like any other. Interestingly, it's probably the least practiced...

are you friends with Trackerschool? I've been following tom for 23 years
Yes, I'm a former lead instructor there k37x :) Taught there from 93 - 98. Been in the Smoky's ever since...
Nice! And thank you for the work you do!
ant you worried about something crawling in youre ear. Thats to raw, id rather sleep in a tree on a branch.
Good luck trying without falling out of the tree. And before you say something like "I'll just strap myself to the branch with my belt." or something along those lines, stuff you have seen in movies (such as Hunger Games) likely won't work.
Bring a face mask.
Thanks for the tip! That reminds me, have you checked out Trankors Survival Secret? You can become virtually indestructible with the recommendations, google it if you're intrigued.
I've tried it.
Don't recommend it.
Use smoke or strong bug spray
good that people do this

What about black bears?
Not worried about bears. Of course every bear is different, but over 95% of them will avoid humans (scent) in the wild. More worried about feral dogs...
