  • The 156 metre stretch across the Drawa River in western Poland would normally be a perilous scenario for approaching armies.
But yesterday British engineers using specially designed floating vehicles opened a crossing for battle tanks in just 18 minutes leaving their American allies trailing behind.
As the US took an hour to assemble a regular ribbon bridge, British engineers raced ahead using the Army's M3 amphibious rig, a 24.5 tonne truck which folds out into a a floating platform.
The vehicles, which have their own nicknames ranging from M-3PO, after the Star Wars character, to M3 Hammer, after the rapper, first entered service in the 1990s and have not been used in combat since the beginning of the Iraq war.
However they have now become more strategically important than ever amid the backdrop of the war in Ukraine and the threat of Russia to Eastern Europe.

Might be nice from a logistics stand point or a surprise attack assuming by some miracle the enemy doesn't notice them but looks like big targets if the enemy is actively defending the river bank on the other side.

As an American, I have to say the absolute state of our military is a joke nowadays. Thanks to left-wing politicians, our military has become so castrated and neutered that our best weapon right now is just harsh language. Instead of recruiting individuals with applicable military skills (mechanical expertise, shooting experience, and a background flying planes), the government wants to enlist racial and gender quotas to “diversify the military”. I once saw a video of some government official talking about increasing budget spending for different type of socks for soldiers, especially ankle socks, because it’s what’s “popular in fashion”. This is what our country is investing for our national defense, instead of countermeasures for hypersonic missiles or resolving reported problems with the F-35s or designing and constructing next-gen tanks.

USA and lackey UK are rotting from inside. They should focus on their own problems. UK has an Indian Hindoooo (what caste?) PM, and a Pakistani muslim mayor of London. UK should focus on Baltis and Curry Houses and try to standardize them, improve them.
Meanwhile, Ukrainians took US guns to kill ethnic Russians. Ukrainians were naïve. They are being punished by Russia for their crimes. After Russia pulverizes Ukraine, they will be wiser.
