    This was the best description of installing the rack that I’ve seen all day. I’ve been reviewing things on UA-cam because I have not used my rack for over a year and I’m mechanically challenged not to mention I can barely lift. I feel much more confident now that I saw your video thank you so much you’ve made my day.

    Just bought this today. Was a little confused that there isn’t a dedicated lock holding the rack to the hitch. After watching video it looks like when you tighten the rack to hitch with Allen wrench that acts as a lock because you can’t remove the rack with it tightened in place.

    At least on my 2" hitch receiver, it's not possible to put the cotter pin through until after the rack is tightened with the special Allen wrench. The video shows the cotter pin being inserted prior to tightening.

    Too bad that the downward tilt to allow access to the hatch is not sufficient for a road bike with narrow handlebars. Wider mountain bike handle bar width would make the hatch access even worse.

      They sell one I think. Otherwise it’s just a normal pin. However the rack is really secure when the anti wobble thing is tightened down and it takes a special hex tool to loosen it.

    Kinda weird that it won't swing down further. If that was a flat bar bike it would have no chance.

    • @rackattack
      @rackattack  Рік тому

      Hello. The engineers must strike a balance with the lowered position to work with a wide range of vehicles. More of a downward angle and the rack could hit the ground with some vehicles, less angle and some hatches will not open without contacting a particular bike style. Thanks for commenting!

    • @rackattack
      @rackattack  2 роки тому +6

      Hello. The integrated cables were an upgrade to the V1 and sold separately. The V2 independent cable is also a effective theft deterrent and it's included with the rack. Additionally, the independent cable is versatile, it is long enough to accommodate the one bike add on for both the two bike or three bike version. Thanks!

    • @oberweiss7190
      @oberweiss7190 2 роки тому

      And it is too short. What good is it if you can’t pass it through all 4 wheels on the 2 bikes. Someone can come along and undo the quick release on your seat and wheels and leave you with nothing. Wtf is the point.
      All their products are like this. I had to buy a 15 ft cable to make sure I can pass it through all the quick release components.
      Also… no lock pin lock on this one… They clearly want to make you buy their more expensive racks.
