I just got this rack and this is by far the best video I've seen. I love all the little details explained such as the trick to load the bike with the rear wheel strap that gets in the way of loading and aligning the rear wheel strap with the rear axle.

Is there a lock for the trail dock on the rack? Im afraid someobody might stole it in case it has none.
With how easy it is to remove and reinstall the trail doc, I think Kuat intended the trail doc to be stored somewhere in the vehicle when not in use. Requiring a key can introduce a whole new series of issues, like the locks rusting over time or not having they key when you need to use the trail doc in an emergency. With variable weather conditions I suggest leaving the trail doc inside the vehicle when not in use typically anyways. Keeps it clean and safe from the harsh weather. If theft is a concern, parking with the rack/bikes visible and well lit, and adding extra cable, chain or U-locks to your bikes when parked will hopefully send a lazy thief off to mess with someone else's gear.

I went ahead and bought the 2.0 in the black and silver version. I really like it. I would have liked to have gotten the QuikR Mach 2.0 but they are leadtimes are absolutely terrible.

the plug he pulls out of his pocket to put in the hole where the rack stand was at the end of the video? where did he get the plug? i have this rack and the plug was not in the box and i do not see it on the rack stand
The plug should've be included with the rack in the original bag for hardware which came with the rack.
Does the exhaust hit the wheels ?
In some vehicle configuration the exhaust is an issue. Kuat also makes an adapter which raised or lowers the rack to avoid this issue. The products is called Kuat Hi-Lo Pro
like the rack functionality, but I have fender on my front wheel (I carry my dog in basket on front) and so it doesn't secure tightly to the tire and I've almost lost the bike several times - doesn't work well with a fender on front.
Hello. Correct, this rack is not suitable for bikes with front fenders, the Thule EasyFold or Yakima OnRamp are good choices for many bikes with fenders. Thanks!

Can you use these on an E-Bike with fenders?
Most front fenders can be easily removed but this rack will need to make direct contact with the tire within 1" inch of the Forks. The back fender does most of the heavy protecting.

I have two ebikes and I just removed the front fenders permently and havent missed them at all nor does it look weird
I'm always worried about the exhaust temp melting the damn rack off and this thing makes no difference.
The exhaust configuration on some vehicle can certainly cause damage to some racks. We would recommend something like the Kuat Hi-Lo pro to change where rack sits in relation to the exhaust.
We have 2 rad power bikes was going to get this rack but bikes are about 65 pounds and have fenders so this one is out bummer.

I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...

DO NOT BUY! DO NOT BUY! DO NOT BUY!.....POOR DESIGN! THE EXHAUST BURNS THE RACK AND THE RACK CANNOT ROTATE/PIVOT OUT LIKE THE YAKIMA SWING ARM.
Hello. If the exhaust of the particular vehicle effected this NV 2.0 it would likely do the same to other platform racks since they all have very similar spacings and dimensions. The Yakima SwingDaddy and FullSwing are a different category of rack with a built-in swing feature and mast with arms where the bikes hang. If the platform style is preferred, the NV 2.0 could be upgraded with the Pivot 2.0 to provide the swing feature and this would likely solve the exhaust issue at the same time since it would move the rack away from the exhaust. as far as security question i asked - after the second look, looks like the cable is long enough to use one from adjacent bike position, loop around front wheel and back..there you go :)

how do you secure front wheel from getting stolen? With high end carbon road bikes, front carbon wheel may cost close to $1000
Alex, great question. Security elements found in hitch racks are not intended for long-term security and you'll want to supplement with additional security if your situation calls for it.
too petty. I often go for a lunch or drink after a ride which means leaving bike on a rack locked. today i need to fold seats in my suv to put it in and have piece of mind. With just longer cable to accommodate front wheel too, Kuat NV 2.0 would solve this important concern for many potential customers.
This kind of cable would not stop anyone from stealing your wheel even if it went through both. its more to stop someone at a rest stop from running off with your bike. if you are going to lock your bike up for a longer period of time in a high risk area i would not trust a cable lock
A double loop ended cable can be used in conjunction with the rack cable system to extend security to wheels if needed.
So what happens if your tire leaks? Are you going to lose your bike?

Handle bars are super narrow like 300mm . 760 wont clear.

Don't drive around with the rack in the up position with that car or other cars with high exhaust. It will melt the rack. We have the same car and it destroyed the rack the first time we drove it in the up position. Very poor design. Very surprised they did not address this with the 2.0, as it was a well known issue with the first gen.
