John Peel was a big fan of Dolly Mixture who he played often, Captain was married to one of them. They were quite under-rated, early stuff reminded me of the Go-Gos and Holly and the Italians
I saw Dolly Mixture play at the Mayflower, in Southampton. They were playing support for Bad Manners. The skins at the front kept gobbing at the stage. The girls stopped singing, and said unless the gobbing ceased, they'd walk. The gobbing ceased.
Love this song xxx
Every time I hear this tune it makes me feel bloody happy 😀... Brilliant tune 👍Nice 1 captain .
Apparently Captain Sensible said he regretted doing this track.....Well I just love it and I bet he made a lot of money so everyone is a winner!

Check out UA-cam for the Dolly Mixtures actual songs. They are pop gold. This is by far the worst thing they did. Peel session is great as well.

Women and Captain first!
Being British. WTF. I remember this.
This was Number 1 and Smash It Up never even charted.
It reached 35 in 1979 and didn't do better thanks to Radio 1's boycott of it's supposed anarchic lyrics.
He has an "ex-parrot" on his shoulder
