Flashlights can be a very deep rabbit hole. Also a very shiny rabbit hole though, so totally worth diving into. They're super bright now, but also can be very very dim, and everything between, with a bunch of fun and useful modes, great color rendition, and even open-source firmware which is easy for the user to modify.
+1 for carrying a flashlight. I have 2 on me right now and I'm in pajamas! My favorite lately is the Emisar D4K w/ boost driver, Nichia 519A 5700K dedomed LEDs (effectively ~4200K), steel bezel, clip, and a 5000 mAh cell like a Samsung 50E. It's a bit bigger than your Olight, but also like 20X more powerful and generally just one hell of a flashlight. I'm biased though, since I'm one of the world's biggest flashlight geeks and I wrote the open-source firmware it runs. You'd be amazed how much you can do with just one button and one really bright pixel.
I also have my tech bag. Got it from etsy, had it modified a bit so it can fit the steamdeck in its case in the front pockets. Has a second compartment large enough to fit 3 controller's, a dock hdmi and a spare charge. Alongside my rg55x and a small box i keeo all the misc things in (usb drives, sd card reader and a makeup brush for dusting.)
I usually just put my sd cards in a ziplock sandwich bag, but you definitely are way more organized with that rig with a list. Thanks for the gr8 suggestions Teckie D.
Love the Video! My two interests of EDC/ Daily Carry and Retro gaming has been combined! I love my Olight and def recommend my Kizer Original for an edc knife, very techy looking with a great matte aluminum body, and the steel has lasted quite a while without sharpening.
I recently upgraded to a larger purse... I mean bag. It's all black canvas and tacti-cool, with molle webbing and and velcro to hold cool patches. I put a Death Stranding "Bridges" embroidered patch on there and Sam Bridges' dreamcatcher in keychain form. I keep a 14" Lenovo laptop in there. Not for gaming, but for Internet and productivity. For gaming I have my Steam Deck and an RG350M. I also like to keep a graph paper pad and some pens in there, in case I find myself lost in a dungeon and need to map it out. I was looking for a good power bank, and I really like the looks of that Sharge 100 bank you have there. I just might pick one up.
Great video, I think messenger bags, back packs, sling bags and purses are great to carry my daily needs (especially when my pants don't have pockets). I usually use a sling bag to carry my phone, a battery bank, usb c cord, bluetooth earbuds, my keys and a pocket knife. I also sometimes take a pen and pad and a deck of playing cards if I'm meeting with anyone or need something to do when I'm idle. Whenever I'm staying the night at my girlfriend's place, I'll pack the same stuff, but I'll bring my steam deck or my laptop in a backpack. I should get a new purse though, something durable with a decent amount of space in it lol
I played Dungeons & Dragons back in the 1980's. My half-orc warrior carried a two-handed sword, a purse, and the dried ears of vanquished foes on a necklace. Everything else he took from people with too many ears. (Edit) I added this comment before Dweeb revealed his shame near the end of the video.
Great tech in a great bag! UK law regarding knives states "It is illegal carry any knife in public without good reason, unless it has a manual folding blade less than 3 inches long" FYI.
I’ve been using chrome bike messenger bags for my tech bags lately. They definitely don’t look like purses at all. The citizen bags are waterproof and you can fit a case of root beer in there along with your tech. Seriously, a metric shit-ton of stuff. The kadet bags are smaller and pretty awesome as well. The regular kadet sling is big enough for the steam deck in its case along with a few other things like a controller. And a power bank.
Its a satchel! Indian Jones wears one! You have become my fav tuberby far from gaming devices to your comentary is unmatched! Keep making great enjoyable content!
True. I had the case from before I got the OLED. The case that pops out of the OLED big case is pretty good, but it's not nearly as good as the Tomtoc one IMO. Thinner and it has the fuzzy velcro around the edges which just feels weird. If I didn't already have the Tomtoc case I'd have stuck with that though.
Bike Commuter here, found a great 11 inch bag from Heroic Knight, fits Inkpad 3, phone, wallet, RG405V and Budi (awesome accessory) in the main compartment then notepad, pen and Olight I1R2 PRO mini, Victorinox classic, Sandisk usb+type C on a ring that clips in the bag, mini MP3 player + Philips Audio A1105Wt/00 (because of my weird ears...) in the front one. Everything I need to survive a day at work.
The bag I use is also by tomtoc it's meant for a switch but I have mainly used it to carry a portable emulator. Charging cable as well as a charging brick. SD cards. SD card reader although I think I should get that one you featured in the video cause that looks like it could be more useful.
Awesometastic vid today! Man, I love your videos - you make such simple concepts so damn entertaining. My tech bag is just an oversized backpack in which I shove a ton of things I usually don't need, but ya know I might, right?...to the point that I can barely get the zipper closed, just so I can torture my 42 year old back on a daily basis.
Great video. Very helpful, insightful and entertaining. I am just packing my MM+ and some great wired headphones in my jacket. Thank you for showing us your Portable, very Universal, Rugged and Secure Enclosure for your tech items. ;-)
The biggest upgrade I would love to see to the miyoo mini plus is Bluetooth audio. I love having it in my EDC, but loath carrying around 2 sets of headphones. My EDC is all pocket cary, and corded headphones always get beat up in there.
BT audio is tricky because you need really good quality bluetooth to send, and really good headphones to receive. Pretty much any BT can do good quality audio but latency is a huge issue with cheap BT devices, which I think is why so few retro handhelds bother to include it.
Wonder if there are any of those Bluetooth adaptors (the ones that plug into a headphone socket) That good enough quality for the job? Not that I need one as always use wired headphones as I prefer them.@@TechDweeb
I found the vid entertaining, and affirming! I always carry a couple things too… people call me a Boy Scout because it always seems like I have just the thing we need 😂 I’m also 100% a supporter of having a dedicated flashlight. How else are you going to see inside your phone’s charging port? I also find it works better as a photo/video light than the one built into a phone. For me, DIM is more important than super bright (also, small enough to have all the time), because sometimes I just need to see inside a bag or read something without blinding myself. I have super tiny Olights that are even more compact than the AAA that TechDweeb shows, but by far my favorite is a RovyVon that has color accurate light (I said it was good in photos!), glows in the dark, and is small enough to live on my keychain without being annoying while driving.
Even though it's your bag, I felt like talking to my wife and she randomly pulling out something totally random and conventional that solves a problem out of her purse (I SAID """HER""" PURSE AND """YOUR BAG""" OK?), fun fact one day I need a bucket of water and she just bend down and pulled a bucket from under the desk where she was working in the notebook, I had no idea why there was bucket there and why she knew it. Also I love when you reference Sujano or other youtubers🤣🤣🤣
The one piece of "portable tech" that I think is a real gamechanger for basically everyone who needs to use a computer was the razer pro click mini mouse - it's truly a cut above EVERYTHING else I've ever touched as a portable mouse with a MASSIVE party trick. It's small but not tiny, ambidextrous, with an unlockable scroll wheel, doesn't complain about what surface I put it on, can use 1 or 2 AA batteries depending on if you want lighter weight or more battery, can be bluetooth or 2.4ghz wireless with a safely stored dongle inside, plenty of DPI settings, and its party piece genuinely blew me away: The click is nearly silent. SILENT. I can - and have - played a serious session of DIABLO 2 on my laptop in my university medical school library, which is church-quiet, and it felt like not a soul would have heard a thing. In my time spent commuting to and from university and basically living in a library, it was an absolute GOAT of a tool. Pricey at $100 but worth every single penny and then some.
In my tech case I usually carry a nintendo Switch or a new 3ds, some cables and chargers, an 8bitdo lite 2, phone stand, and a hefty fear of getting mugged 😢

That "Princess' bedroom" looks familiar. Hidden object game? (played enough of them that they all blur together sometimes :)
Got any thoughts on that LTT bag? I've got a bag like yours that I take with me when traveling, but I've been debating on grabbing a new backpack-style tech bag for ages.
Doesn't do it for me personally. I'm sure it's a good bag but that's dang expensive for a backpack that is so bland IMO. I like some of LTT's products but the backpack isn't one of em. Tomtoc makes some good backpacks that I'm interested in though.
@@TechDweeb You know what, that's fair. Yeah, the price is a bit much, for sure. I've just also gone through like.. 3 $50-80 tech-backpacks already and the promise of longevity is appealing. Though, I know Tomtoc makes some REALLY nice stuff for pretty cheap. I'll go take a closer look there! 💚
I have the original XBOX 360 'TechBag' they sold with the console at launch... not a purse. I swear though this is the same bag, same pockets and everything.

So what if it was a purse. That’s cool too. I don’t carry a “man’s” wallet, I have a carry loop hand on it. I love being able to carry my phone cash and cards all in one smaller pouch.
I completely agree, it is NOT a purse. its a Possibly Urgent Repository of Supplies and Equipment.
