I was in HK in early May! My first visit in many, many years. The guide you made was very useful! I find that HK is environmentally and health-conscious eg. you have to pay HKD1 for every shopping bag (which is good I think) and you have a choice how savory you want your food to be. I was surprised when they give me the flavoring separately for my Nissin noodles 😂
haha haven't you heard of the SMRT CEO who became too enamored with copying MTR's media advertising business model that engineering and maintenance was neglected, leading to frequent breakdowns and incurring the public's wrath... The govt was so scarred by the issue that they took the entire organization back into "private" ownership (by Temasek) and restricted advertising. now even buses cannot be completely covered by advertising...

Hi Irene, I love all your videos, can I suggest you to do a video on introduction of how to wash chopsticks, spoons with free tea in dim sum shop in HK? And also, how to use plate or bowl... seems like customers don't drink the free cup of tea and use it to wash things. And, also I want to know, is plate for dirty things and bowl is for eating, I think it's good if HK native like you do intro video about this as some Singaporeans don't really know (especially younger audience)

Water cooler for water refill shouldn't be near F&B as it will affect businesses. So near to park is ideal😂
Yet you realised airport also have some outside toilets. Reasons? Either further away from eatery or choices for tourists to choose.
I missed hk roasted goose, dim sum, mok kok duck mew soup and brewed ice lemon tea.
There is roasted goose in Singapore. Kam's Roast Express (ION) 甘牌燒味 at 2 Orchard Turn.
The increasing of tourists has especially challenge the patience of the waiters of the 茶餐厅again lol😂
I thought you will show us restaurants or shopping areas frequented by the locals. You and your Singaporean BF seemed to be the typical tourists to HK in this vid. 😂
Since both of you are base in either SG or HK, frequently travel both locations. Can probably consider and start to use miles card, pair with your fiancé as buddy system to gain more miles. In this region there are options of SQ/CX/BR/JL/NH/QF/QR airlines tickets redemption.
I previously do, but anyway you gotta pay tax and departure fee, I quite sad. So I just cash back lor
@@IrenereneHK Certainly, whether it is cash fare or redemption ticket, airport tax must be paid. While not all airlines impose a fuel surcharge, ie. SQ/QF do not, but CX/BR/JL do.

For my taste, Singapore Cantonese food is so much better than HK. Only good HK food is at expensive high class restaurants. Love Singapore food better. (born and raise in HK)

hey irene, i am going to hk in sept (first time ever). will be staying at mongkok airbnb. would u recommend me changing HKD cash here in sg or in hk? in ur clip u mentioned restaurants still mainly take cash instead of card but i assume shopping malls should accept card bah. don't want to carry too much cash around but duno how much to exchange. ahhhhhh

Hi, can I check are there any physical counters at Hong Kong international airport selling those normal (on loan) Octopus card (not the tourist version)? I will be arriving around 8.30pm so I wonder if those counters will still be open?
The modern Hong Kong is pretty silent or stay silent. Japanese business left Hong Kong and China. There's like .3% Japanese living in Hong Kong. Year ago, British Hong Kong has like 20-30% Japanese living Hong Kong. Mitsubishi cars was popular in Hong Kong (1970-1990s). There's Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball z, Nintendo, Sega, Akira, Gundam, Doraemon, Hello Kitty, etc. All of these things were Made in Japan. Ghost in the Shell comic and cartoon shows Hong Kong vibe. Hong Kong was almost like second Japan with cantonese language. Japan town of Hong Kong. There's lots of Japanese goods sold in Hong Kong.
SOGO was popular store in British Hong Kong. After National Security Law passed. Japan decide to close down SOGO stores. Japan pulled out Embassy in China. Number of Japanese students leaving Hong Kong. They complain about new national security law in Hong Kong that Hong Kong isn't Hong Kong they remember. They remember Hong Kong was diversity and asian discrimination free society. They want the old Hong Kong back. Not new Hong Kong. They stop doing business with new Hong Kong ventures. Japan even pull sponsorship with US, China, Hong Kong. Explain why USA? USA is so weak protecting international IP. This is how Japanese sees.
Today, China restrict video games. Lots of censorship and removals. There's lots of fake Pokémon cards sold in Hong Kong. Cloning Pokémon cards ripping kids off. Fake Charizard Cards with stickers upfront cover. Carrie Lam, John Lee, sanction listed Hong Kong government were banned visiting APEC(Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Tried to talk to Japan. Not so easy.
