    Enjoyed your review. I purchased a ‘12 997.2 GTS in Carrera White. Mine is a manual and a coupe not a Cab. I love the car. I bought with 12k miles and am about to turn 20k. The car has been problem free. You need a special and expensive ($400) torque wrench for center lock wheels, but with wrench not a big deal to remove wheels. The sports exhaust makes a wonderful sound in combination with the naturally aspirated engine. The seats are VERY comfortable. Car had a short shift kit and the manual is wonderful. The steering is hydraulic vs. electric (991) and in my opinion it is perfection. I had a 987 Cayman S and the 997 is just more in every way. The car has Bluetooth and the PCM is much better in function and aesthetics’s over the Gen 1 car. I added after-market radiator lower duct screens and euro side markers, but car is mostly stock. Looking forward to growing old together. Thanks for a nice review.

      Thanks Scott for watching and commenting, and I agree the 997 is one of the very best true 911s and the GTS is top of that group outside of GT3 or Turbo. Amazing drive and love driving a Porsche. Had them for many years myself and probably do it again.

      Hey Scott, I have a '11 GTS coupe myself. Would love to know more about your aftermarket rad duct screens. Aesthetics? Practical purposes? Where'd you order from? Thx

      Jamie Hamilton Hi Jamie. I got mine off Ebay. They were not cheap, but appear well made. NO drilling necessary. Have had them on a couple of years without issue. They are an aesthetic improvement. Has a more GT3 look with screens, but they are functional. The radiators are up front and the screens keep rocks/sticks/leaves from entering and clogging radiators or damaging them. I can look in my “purchases” for brand if you can not find them. There are five in all.

    random factoid:
    Doppel = double, as in doppelganger
    Kupplung = clutch
    Doppelkupplung
    PDK- Porsche Doppel Kupplung
    fascinating acronym 😂

    The Porsche 911 is probably the most recognizable sports car in the world even after 50 years: P.

    My first car was a porsche 914 with a beach boys racing motor, then went to the 911s and had the opportunity to take a 911 turbo down the autobahn. Fun cars!

      That’s true Jeff. Everyone e always remember their first Porsche experience. Mine was a friends car when he took delivery we literally went trolling any performance car that day. Fun cars

      I had a 1974 914! And it cost $6000, new. Got me addicted to the world of sports cars, before the need for the family van and company car. I've been "starved"for a while. Doesn't slow Mark down! And I couldn't be more pleased for anyone.

    Nice video mate. Thumbs up. I’ve had a 997.2 C2S PDK for only 2 weeks and I’m loving it. Sure it’s not the GTS mind which 1 day I may try and nab. I’m hoping they all will be classics if I stick with this one. I would like the sport’s exhaust but I have chrono plus. At 385 bhp I’m not sure I need much more. Mines an Arctic silver coupe Bon sunroof and it looks great when the sun comes out which is rare on the UK. The 2 wheel drive with the wider body looks damn cool on the GTS but on the narrow roads of the UK my narrow body fits well. I’ll check out more of your vids as I loved your passion coming across. I’m finding it a tad scary at speed as I’m not used to it but I can’t wait till I know how to drive it properly!🎉

    These are good reviews. I don’t know if Christophorus magazine publishes reviews but if I read a transcript of this review in an edition I’d be gripped.

    I've had a number of back surgeries and sold a 2013 M3, as the suspension was too stiff, for any extended comfort. I've not even test driven a Porsche, fearing the "after affects" of the drive. So, subjectively, how was the "comfort"? I've trended towards the E60 M5 because of the seating, etc and find it very agreeable. But a Porsche is under serious consideration. Great over view! Thanks!

      There is nothing like a Porsche from the stand point of drive. Modern Porsche models are very reliable and have numerous settings for different roads and desires.
      BMW makes more cars for a daily driver. That said I have never owned a BMW that compared with my Porsche.

    • @thomashelm6931
      @thomashelm6931 5 років тому

      Good to know, Steve. My BMW has adjustable settings, thus, the comfort. Presume Porsche has a similar feature? Thank you!

      Yes it does but there is a difference in build quality, ride and performance that BMW cannot match.
      An M car is not a substitute for a comparable Porsche. This from a guy on his 5th BMW.

      @@miketheman4341 is there a model that you would recommend? My search is just beginning. And Mark, always, seems to read my mind, coming up with appropriate topics, at the same time I'm performing my due diligence. Cayman, 2009+? 911? Thank you!

      I prefer the 991 911S or 4S. The 991.2 base is almost as fast as the 991S.
      With the 992 out it has pushed the 991 models into a more reasonable price. Keep in mind that the last naturally aspirated 911 were the 991.1. The 991.2 are turbo. All turbos no matter the car except for track focused GT3 and such cars that are 1 in 20 of all the 911 cars made.

    I don’t know if you mentioned this in the video,. In model year 2012, Porsche made the both the 997.2 and first gen 991 cars. Obviously you are reviewing a 997.2
