love how they kept losing their front wing and wondering why they could no longer turn lol also Michael not pitting and letting his tires wear down so far that they poped and then proceeded to blame Gavin. You can pretty much apply the achievement hunter formula to anything nd it'll be funny
He probably could have made one last lap before pitting, even though he'd be cutting it real close, but Gavin took him out after it was too late to make that decision to pit. To be fair though, I think he thought he could go the whole race without pitting, so it probably doesn't matter

It's amazing how many other UA-camrs have been playing this mode, smash into things and lose all their aero structures and then are like "I have no grip?!?!?! WHAT?!" ....... I feel GTA needs a big ol' window going "If you lose your front or rear wing, you lose grip"

But Gavin Was the reason he lost. His tires were destroyed from gavin bashing him for 10 seconds. He would have finished in first or second even with the hare tires.
@@unit378 Gavin's bashing had practically no effect on Michael's vehicle health or tire grip (at most something like 5% tire grip was lost at that time). Michael should have pitted his tires at least when they turned red. It was 100% Michael's own fault for losing.

Agressive accelerating and braking moves weight over the front and rear wheels, and say, not having downforce, or losing too much downforce, will cause you to spin

I would like to put this preface: I loved this video and have no ill feelings towards the boys or this video. This is actually one of my favorite racing GTA videos.
Okay so I know I may get some flak for this, but for those who dont know the hardness of the tyres correlates to the amount of grip you have in the car and peak performance. Hard has the lowest grip and ultra-soft has the highest. Softer tyres have a better performance rating but can be used up quickly and the reverse is for the Harder tyres. Hope people liked this. I understand this is just a game and no one really cares about accuracy.
As an F-1 fan, tis video is painful. but RS should have added an explanation of the tires.

Cameron Webster does nobody notice the explanation of the tire difference IN THE MENU while they are selecting tire type. It’s just that nobody stops and looks to read

That's why you gain boost levels back off-throttle and under braking.

@@logancluer1141 I am American. Texan in fact. F1 is hard to keep up with here due to time zones. Mostly old Top Gear and Grand Tour kept me updated on all forms of motorsports that mattered.

So for those uncertain:
- Losing body pieces lessens downforce and the car is harder to drive.
- The Boost re-gains when you aren't on throttle / are on brakes, this is like the real life KERS system for F1.
- A softer tire has more grip but less durability / a Harder tire has less grip but more durability.
Aren't soft tires for rain as well? Hard only on a dry track?
#1 Soft tires have the most grip but wear faster, hard tires last the longest but have the least amount of initial grip
#2 the aero has a huge effect on the car, missing front spoiler will reduce turning and create understeer, losing the rear will create oversteer.
#3 you can shut off boost by clicking in the stick again,
I'm offended if none of them aside from Gavin knows who Lewis Hamilton is. Those accounts were never the same after he came in!

They should try the actual F1 game with damage on, theres a track in Austin and all, it'll be utter carnage!
To some extent, I'd love to watch them do that, but then again... It would be so painful to watch. If they did it though, they should do two races - first, one where all assists are off, and they have to set up their own racing strategy, regarding pitstops and tires. Second, with all the assists they want, the games recommended strategy, etc. I don't know about race-length though. Would they be able to stay focused for just 15-20 laps?

Well they did know that missing rear caused issues because they kept screaming about it whenever they lost a spoiler
For anyone that cares or doesn’t know, soft and hard tire compounds determine grip and wear rates. Softer the tire=more grip but wear out much faster. Opposite is true for harder tires
Programming notes:
Losing the front wing results in less downforce on the front wheel = understeer
Losing the rear wing results in less downforce on the rear wheels = oversteer & slower acceleration
FYI
So lose both and it cancels them out. Got it
In terms of oversteer + understeer, maybe.
You’ll still overall; have less grip and be slower acceleration-wise

I love how, in the first race, Michael didn't notice the Tire Health. He lost because he didn't fix his tires before they blew. Gavin did help though.

As a Motorsport fan I’d honestly love to see AH do more “serious” racing like this, while they do obviously still go for sprunks it’s nice to see them actually being competitive with their racing it would be interesting to see them do a racing tournament like they did with their baseball and hockey teams. And since they are all pretty much at the same skill level to me it would also be interesting to watch their progress like figuring out racing lines, correct braking zones, overtaking cleanly, etc.

You know, there was never a better time to do a Sunday Driving episode than now that no one can see each other personally.
Me knowing how these races work made it hard to watch in the beginning with all the unknown knowledge of these races.

Gavin definitely accelerated it, but given another minute, Michael would’ve screwed himself out of the race anyway.
Loved this race, looking forward to seeing if any future cunning stunts or transform races use these open wheel cars. Would like to see more of these type of lap races in the future, where the car damage and tires and pit stops matter.
The soft, medium, hard determines the tire pressure the higher the pressure (hard) the better the top speed but worse grip because it has a lower friction coefficient. Got to love dem physics.
