- The Audeze CRBN is a new frontier for Audeze, their first take on an electrostatic headphone. The CRBN combines a fantastic build and looks with a MUCH better tuning than any of Audeze's LCD lineup. This makes for probably my favorite electrostatic headphone to date.

I wish they could send you the LCD-5 while keeping CRBN around to compare directly to it since Resolve seemed a lot more impressed by the 5 already
Great review. Your comparison of the bass on the CRBN to the LCD-X was exactly how I heard it. I heard the CRBN and the Jr at CanJam SoCal 2021 in the same hour (fully aware of 'show condition' compromises) . I think if you heard them at the same time you would throw the Jr out like two week old bread. The CRBN sounded way more natural and had actual weight to the music. In comparing the dynamics and impact- going from the CRBN to the Jr would be equivalent to going from the Focal Clear OG to a Ether CX or AEON Flow Open. For me the Shangri-La Jr was the biggest disappointment of the show. I will say that the Jr did have a little bit of "did I leave my desktop speakers on?" sound quality to it though, certainly can make you forget you are wearing headphones on certain tracks.
Surprising that the resolution is being compared to LCD4/Utopia, and if it is worse than those that would be a bad conclusion for an estat. It should be able to best them easily in that category.
Yup! The Utopia and lcd4 aren't even in the top category in that field.
It's important to mention the rest of the equipment, especially the amplifier...other than that, and too many "kind of's", it was nice to finally have a review to watch.

It sounded to me you were really trying not to say anything negative even though there seems a lot about this headphone.
So, basically a better tuned and natural sounding electrostatic headphones, but perhaps not the best technical performer on the merit of being electrostatic.

That's the 007 MK1, isn't it? The MK2 should be better tuned.
the opposite. he has the mk2. the mk1 actually sound better.
I suppose a question I have having watched many of your videos is - what do you even use to listen to music?

If it's not more detailed than the lcd4 then it's a letdown. Because the lcd5 is more detailed than all of those. Good I didn't buy these. Not for $4500 that's for sure.
