- These are my 2 favourite headphones this year ⬇️
For binaural mixing ➡️ Ollo Audio S5's
These are really good for surround work 👍🏼
And not to mention how comfortable they are 👌🏼
Then for stereo mixing and mastering ➡️ Audeze MM's
These are not only comfortable,
But they are open back too... My favourite! 😁

Listening to this on my audezes😎 definitely worth considering for anyone with a little spending money!
Are these the mm-500?
Couldn't tell you. I have the LCD-Xs
I know you were a big fan of the LCD-X. Has the MM500 taken that spot for you?
bump
I've been getting really good mix translation using the HiFiMan Sundara. I use Can Opener, but nothing else.
Love planar magnetics. Sound fantastic
Beyerdynamic DT 990, DT 900 pro X, DT 1990.
DT 1990 is good, but DT990…no way
The DT990 is not a good headphone due to it’s very harsh treble and it’s also v-shaped, the new DT900 pro X doesn’t have the typical peak in the treble which makes it better than the 990
@@totizedgerI have dt 990 premium 600 ohm and dt 900X and I love more 990 than X because X are dark and don’t have that sparkly highs.Too dark and boomy for my taste. Can’t wait to get 1990 in the future

OLLO audio !! My fav!
You’ll be saving my life by answering this question: how do you record your tutorial audio while playing the audio of your session at the same time? Do you have 2 systems recording simultaneously?
Thank u for the video Streaky!
Record vocal first, then blend in music over the top in editing software. By sounds of it.
It’s shape mm-500
I’ve seen atmos engineers say good things about the audeze mm500.. do you think they would be good for someone wanting to do some atmos mixing with headphones ?
Would you recommend the audeze Maxwell's??? For music
How compares the mm-500 with the lcd-x?
MM-500 smokes the LCD-X for mixing imo
Happy new year Streaky. I was wondering about a good headphone amp too, and it may seem obvious to some but how would you connect a headphone amp to a soundcard?
You can connect via digital output in most cases, I have my Prism Sound Callia routed this way. You can also connect via analogue outputs in the case of Neve RNHP.
Dope
Have you tried Slate VSX?
I’ll try to get them..
What about the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro?
It's new great headphones for mixing, I think Audeze more expensive.
I checked the DT 1990 against the Audeze LCD-X and LCD-X is more detailed and a lot better. The 1990 are great, but the LCD is brilliant.
Hey Streaky what about headphone amps what do you use?
Oof bit out of my price range for the mm's, maybe one day tho
bluetooth for mixing?
Which MM model is it?
yes! he didn't even say what model is...
The MM500 . The MM100 doesn’t have the adjustable mechanism on each side for the headband
I wandered why he didn’t mention the price of audeze 1700$.. oh boy.. are they really all that? Give me alternatives?
Audeze's bringing out a new budget version called the mm-100 and it will be priced at $399
@@ethangibbs5251 what about the audeze Maxwell's are those good for music?
@@irondisciple2984 probably will be but they definitely wouldn't be tuned for neutrality. Gaming headsets tend to be either very v-shaped (for fun while gaming) or very treble and soundstage focused (for a competitive advantage). I'd probably skip them for music and go with something like a pair of sundaras, the new fiio ft3, Sennheiser hd560s or hd600 ( make sure you've got an amp with a bit of juice if you're getting the 600s tho)
@irondisciple2984 they are good but along with what ethan said you also have to figure the mm100 cost 100 more and dont include wireless transmitter, mic or an amp . Admittedly i dont think the mic broke the bank but it still cost something. That money goes somewhere if not into sound then build quality. The maxwells are heavy as well.
This guy has no idea what he's taking about, don't be a fool and buy any of these headphones!
The audeze mm 500 and all other audeze headphones have completly ripped out treble and have flat lifeless bass! After just 3khz the mm's rolls of the treble, and at 9khz there is a HUGE hole with barely any treble information at all. Also these have a huge 3khz peak.
The Ollos have MEGA peaks in the treble, they go up and down and they have lifeless bass aswell. They scope out way to much at 3khz which is what creates a wide soundstage.
