@@HuwJones Did you end up getting a pair of 12's? I've been running in 10's for the last five or six months and have loved them, but they're starting to wear out. I was wondering if anyone had put some extended use on the 12's to see if they held up as well.

@@toastrecon I did not. At the end of the month I will seek out and try a pair on. I'm dealing with foot issues so am leaning more to something with a natural toe box. 356.8 miles on the Peregrine 10's at this point...would like to get them to 400 before retirement.

I have recently started running in a bunch of Altras, but love Saucony trail shoes!!! I still use my peregrine and mad river tr's quite a bit, the 4mm drop is still low enough for me. People get caught up on the "outsole you can put screws into" and miss what amazing trail shoes Saucony make. I live in the Hudson valley in New York and you were right around the corner! Good stuff.

You are one of the first reviewer using slash testing the shoe on an appropriate terrain. It is not a central park trail sneaker. Of course that thick leaf coverage is never appropriate but the rocky sections and the little hands on knees climbing suggest some steepness and technicality. Thanks for the review and enjoy the shoe !

I have the 8s, 10s and 11s. The 10s I think are the best and just bought another pair of 10s on clearance. The 8s were solid but nothing really stood out but solid and reliable. 10s are amazing. The 11s were very good but not as soft- material wise so they didn’t break in easily and form to my foot like I was hoping. Ive tried on the 12s but didn’t buy them. They felt great right out of the box though. The thinner tongue could be a concern. If you accidentally tie them too tight you could end up top of foot pain. I’ll probably grab a pair at some point though.

Excited to try them out! Had v10 and thought (especially in the winter) that the midsole was just dead and my feet would get sore running in them. I skipped v11 for that reason, so was sort of hoping the new version was going to tweak the midsole to add just a bit of softness.

It is not that just they (assuming you meant just Saucony) call it a Rock plate, but it is called a rock plate in general...as you said, it is there to protect you from the rocks, but it is hard to get that perfect balance between midsole magic and the plate :) Peregrine is a very popular trail shoe from what Ive noticed, it is the one trail shoe you should look at if you want 1 for everything...plus it is very affordable...and this one looks awesome :)
