Pennies for pounds, custom fitted to the wheels also. I'm making some, looks way to easy. Thanks brother!

Neat idea! The store bought weights are way too expensive and don't even give you that much weight! We mixed up two of these and they are curing now, fingers crossed they will turn out and help solve my traction problems plowing snow with my little garden tractor! I think I am also going to put 5-6 gallons of winter windshield washer fluid in each tire, going for HELLA BIG traction!

Love this video. I just bought a 1025r and trying to find a way to do my hills I'm not spending money on luggage rack and suitcase weights it'll be trashcan filled concrete plus your video weights to . Thanks

I made a set of these years ago and worked great. On a different tractor that was used to haul logs out of the woods i got an old set of ag tires and filled them with concrete. VERY rough ride but worked like a charm.

Doesn't matter how ugly! Works like a charm that's all that matters. Love the vid love the weights. Great job!

If they work and keep you from getting stuck, who cares what they look like. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks for the video I'm going to be making some wheel weights like this today

One thing I am curious about... There are 2 categories of weights used on lawn/garden tractors for moving snow and that being wheel weights that mount to the rims and rear weights that hang on the back of the tractor frame or chassis. I had a Snapper 1650 and I did not have wheel weights for it so I mounted a box and put concrete blocks in the box. After the first winter season of use with this weight I noticed the rear axle seals were leaking badly. I think the wheel weights might be a better application because they do not put all that weight directly on your axle hub seals. Not sure if this caused the leaking but I'm suspicious that it did.

You have to wipe oil on the inside of your 5 gallon bucket piece in order to have it slide out easily. Old concrete workers trick..

Great video! Long term, how are they holding up? It’s not like they would need to be removed a ton of times, but do you suppose it would help to weld a strap between the bolt heads so they can’t spin or does the concrete around the hex do a good enough job? I wonder if with enough prep, a set of dually adapters could be made out of concrete and all thread using the buckets as guides?

Neat idea for a first attempt. What you could do if you ever wanted some nicer ones is drop someone $20 to let you borrow one of their weights, suspend it in a larger bucket full of silicone mold gel, and be able to a bunch to recoup your costs, make some cheap pocket change.

Not sure where your located at, but you might get the same result by adding windshield fluid in each tire.... would add about the same weight! But the cement works too I guess.... good job!

Always round off edges and if you keep the cement damp and covered it will cure slower and make better harder concrete.

Did you put angle iron in the concrete?

Can you get to the inflation valves? Commercial weights have a relief for the valves,

looks good, next time trowel the top surface smooth, it would look better with paint.....good idea though!

I wonder by adding wire mesh and along with other metals for extra weight and for stability

Those buckets have a taper to them if you had turned the bucket over before the concrete was added it would have came right off.

Buckets are tapered, if you flip it the other way it would come off easier.
