„Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.“ (S. Micali). I particularly enjoyed the central part on zero knowledge proofs which added value to previous Micali interviews. :-) Furthermore, I liked your well-informed, very appreciative and respectful interview style and how you let him freely develop his ideas, Ash. Micali is such an intelligent, honest, sympathetic and humorous person with such humbleness and at the same time big vision. Fingers crossed for Algorand, fellow long-term hodlers!
Algorand is here to stay. Most professional team in blockchain space, which in turn is translated in number of partnerships in just 2yrs of existence. To say that Silvio is an genius is an understatement.

Amazing interview - so insightful on a level that someone with at a little bit of Algo knowledge can understand the logic behind the system. Incredibly enthusiastic about the future of Algorand with such a passionate and intelligent founder behind it. I'll be buying Algorand whenever I realistically can and keep adding to my position :)
Silvio, genio assoluto nel mondo. Una delle poche bandiere Italiane! Grandissimo! [ENG] Silvio, an absolute genius around the world. One of the few Italian representatives! Magnificent!
This presentation was outstanding, educational, informative and timely. I would like to have seen more information on the tokenomics/ economic outlook for the value algo. Didn't get a clear picture of how the algo token would be valued in the future. Thank you for superior professional presentation!
That was a fantastic interview! Very high quality content, congrats! I'd love to see you talk with Emin Gun Sirer, one of the founders of Avalanche. He seems like a great guy, and with Avalanche being one of most technologically advanced blockchains right now, it would be very interesting to have a comparison point between them and Algorand. I think the future is bright for both those projects and I'm always on the lookout for more quality information about them. Have an awesome summer! #suggestion
So if I spend 1 hour flipping a coin 300 times the total number of different possible outcomes is more than the amount of anything to ever exist in the universe combined? And I created this much randomness with a single two sided coin and an hour of my time?....came here for the need to have my position in ALGO re-enforced not to have my mind blown. God damn Silvio

only one question as an algo fan. the number 10^-18 . How can that be true about big bang since one second didnt last the same as now . I think that this thing about the time from big bang is wrong
Hey Ash, love these interviews. Please bring Dr Gavin Wood, the Co-founder of Ethereum and Founder of Polkadot on your show. He also invented the Solidity programming languagewhich is used to write Ethereum smart contracts. Thanks!
Silvio describes just one type of delegated PoS algorithm in comparison to Algorand's PoS algorithm. There are delegated PoS algorithms with 1000 validators and more. In his interview with Lex Fridman he states that there are only 21 validators in a delegated PoS algorithm as well. Delegation is not intrinsically a bad thing, it can add a democratic component to PoS which can be pretty usefull.
I found it: Binance Smart Chain introduces a system of 21 validators with Proof of Staked Authority (PoSA). I think this is not the case for all proof of stake chains, especially not for the Cardano blockchain.
There's 476.19 ALGO per BTC, so if ALGO ever reached the market cap of btc, right know that ALGO is worth aroun 1$ it's the same as buying BTC for $476.... think about it.
Algo has impressive tech and team but weak marketing and just about the worst tokenomics in the space with 10 BB total tokens and heavy dilution and selling pressure.
Let's address the marketing. Would you rather own part of a knife company with top-tier marketing, but when people actually went to use the product it sucks ass. Or a company with an amazing product that you only hear about because a trusted buddy tells you about it. Which strategy is build for long term success? Which one is like an infomercial?
@@deepfriedbrains__437 it’s an interesting but flawed analogy. The value of these networks, almost all blockchains, lies in their network effect - their value and security grows exponentially with users. That’s part of the reason the top two block banks are still so disproportionately valuable. Conversely, without users all blockchains are worthless however elegant the code. So it’s important for people to find out about and use any crypto you want to be successful.
@@mfmf100 Sure, I hear you. Devs/users will have the final say with their adoption of networks. I have a nice piece of Aave from dec with that thinking 👍 Overall, I just think we're still in the very early days of adoption. 5-10 years will tell the tale of who got the layer 1 blockchain recipe tastiest for devs & users. Still more unknowns than knowns right now it seems to me, but research reveals tea leaves...
Ash is a phenomenal interviewer. I throughly enjoyed this conversation. And learned a lot.

This was great! So glad I fell upon this video. Wow
Looking forward to the 1st 1000 years, at the protocol AND network levels.🤯
Enjoying this interview! Long ALGORAND!
Algorand 🌱💎
Who else fully gets the randomness explanation?😁 it was truly eye opening 🤪🤪
I am so glad resources like this exist for us crypto noobs 😂 Id be watching this any day over the basic “crypto to the moon” videos.
Algorand🙌🙌🙌
ALGO is too undervalued…watch it moon guys 🌝
I'm genuinely confused how this doesn't have more views... Perhaps a few years from now
how many times to watch this... many times probably

How are my tokens that are nothing but a a record on a blockchain vote for the next block? I don't have any software installed??? What am I missing?
Silvio Micali, the ALGOD!
Wow ALGORAND is a great investment long term
How do you feel about Silvios response to the question about errors and how to prevent bugs in their code base?
This is the guy who read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and decided to find the question to the answer.
The person who disliked bought in too late.
Must have come from the future, it‘s not yet too late...
I'd watch far more of this with time stamps. And then I'd maybe even subscribe...

Ash looking like a prospective PhD student wondering how he got such a long answer to his question "What projects are you offering?". Love it.
