Y'all know this is just my opinion, right?
this album is so wicked, really catchy tunes for the type of listener who can't stomach the simplicity of radio pop but still love hooks
hey thats me
that album cover tho
Ayyyyy
well spotted

old enough to run, old enough to fire a gun
Oh baby it’s alright, it’s alright to feel
you didn't really touch on much of the incredibly dark lyrics about the main character becoming a terrorist and murdering the Queen of England
Olga Svenselts I know I'm late but rewatching again. really wish he'd touched more on the lyrics which are like you said really dark
Now now. Not murdering, just trepanning. Also, living in Britain I can say that this album sounds like a soundtrack to 2017.
What a time to come across this comment
@@MCVessels no he killed the queen. Trepanning kills the victim.
I really love this album on my first listen though I didn't know what they were going for but when i heard the lyric "im going yo kill a stranger" with the piano notes after it making it sound that much more sinister I started to get it and really fall in love with this album as a whole
THEY DIDN'T EVEN GET NOMINATED FOR THE MERCURY PRIZE WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUCK!?!?!?!?!?!
JMlynek99 the 1975 did though... Ugh...
That right there is some strong bullshit
It's alright to feel like a bald melon in a pushchair
'the wheel' has the best vocal melodies on the album
Agreed. Basically my fave track on the album.
@@cznzmusic it's dragged down by the 2nd half of the song, but the first part I agree is good
@@agbrenv i dont think the second half is that bad it's just too long
@@Kay-vr4ft it's "bad" compared to the rest of the song and album overall
it's basically a 5.5-6/10 on an album with mostly 8-9-10/10 songs
but yeah, being shorter would have definitely made it better
@@agbrenv The wheel is probably one of my favourite EE songs and EE is probably my favourite band so funny how that works. I have grown to love the droning almost ambient outro for the wheel. I just love that song so much.
Blast Doors got me into the band, I added it to fluff up my playlist and initially ignored it but when I eventually sat through it i came to love and savour every song of their's I came across.
Fav song of all time
Same, and Fortune 500 makes me scrum in my jorts
The lyrics of No Reptiles are so good. The line you mention with "a fat child in a pushchair" is amazing in my opinion. I absolutely love Everything Everything. The song Duet from Arc is one of my favourite songs.
No Reptiles is definitely one of the best songs I've ever heard.

theneedledrop I'm gonna miss their show cause it's 18+ :( always happens
theneedledrop very excited for it! Flying to Amsterdam to see them and getting a First Edition vinyl at the gig :D
Literally my favourite album, when you listen to it a few times it gets better and better and you get used to the slightly shrill vocals and the unusual songs. They actually become some of the highlights of the album

JayLegacy100
No spam, just listen to the tune at the beginning of the song.
theneedledrop Their vocal delivery sounds very similar to TV on the Radio to me. I was waiting for that comparison to come out haha.
Loving you is complicated!
Can you do a Stone Roses review!! 🙏
Have you ever checked out their debut album, Man Alive? Easily their best IMO, and probably my favourite album of 2010. The yelping, zany falsetto was definitely already there but not as prominent on that record, and I think most of their best tunes are on there too. Schoolin (one of my favourite choruses ever), Final Form, Two For Nero, Come Alive Diana and Weights are all brilliant, several other tracks are almost as good.

Ben C those other two are great, and normally I'd include them in my own list of highlights, there's so many though! Even the very few least memorable tracks have a lot to like about them.
also did a brief review of the new statik selektah album: ua-cam.com/video/TccVPM12PoQ/v-deo.html
Hum. Don't give up on this album, Anthony. The sad lyrics you mention are not just sad. This is probably, for my ears, the most heart-wrenching pop album i heard since ages. That "fat kid in a push chair" verse alone made me cry more than once. It's an album about having access to all this information about how much the big wigs are screwing us over and the rage that comes with it, but knowing in your heart that there is an actual limit to what you can actually do about it. I'm portuguese so i understand this completely, the greeks must understand it pretty well too. Give it another listen, with focus on the lyrics, tell us about it. Thank you for everything! (everything)
Oh, I'm really glad you reviewed this album, it's easily in my top 10 of this year.
I've had Distant Past, Get to Heaven, Blast Doors and Warm Healer on repeat for weeks.
This album is lyrically way deeper than it seems, talking about stuff like techonogy, alientation, modern politics or religion.
Well said
Zero punctuation avatar. Nice
Ivan Malek No Reptiles?
Ivan Malek Omg im glad you said it, everything everything are so overlooked, they had some small ass audiences at the recent UK festivals, and more people went to see goddamn kanye west, it makes me pessimistic for the future of music when these guys can be rated lower than that fool
+yourenotinthecircle Just because you don't like Hip Hop music doesn't mean Kanye West is bad. Learn 2 music you fuckwit, Kanye has 3-4 classic albums..MBDTF is a top 50 album of all time on most credible top 500 albums OAT rankings list.

and a brief review of the new lana del rey single: ua-cam.com/video/AJQGfl2nsZ4/v-deo.html
Really enjoyed this review, The lyrics are one of the things I also personally find interesting about everything everything. Find it really fascinating how the lyricist takes simple ideas, and then elongates the concept into a full song by writing from different perspectives. Good use of metaphors and some unusual words thrown in occasionally as well.
As a giant Everything everything fan I would have loved to hear your thoughts on the tracks from the deluxe edition, there's some real bangers on it. If you ever do a revisit then a mention to those tracks would be much appreciated
I personally didn't like them. They were uninteresting and felt like scraps from the album, which they probably were. They would've dragged down the whole album if they were included in the middle of the album.
Depends on how you're looking at it. I agree that there probably were no places in the album where they could be slipped in but as singles, I feel like Happsberg lip in particular might even be one of the best from the album
+Dean Mc Creary president heartbeat is the best
Right? It's got a cool 80s vibe to it
+Dean Mc Creary I adore Brainchild. It needs more love.

+theneedledrop Reply to Jason, Anthony. He needs you.
Thanks I am

He's doing that weird bandana thing again.
Antny! You reviewed it! Had me worried there! So underappreciated, this band. Thanks for repping the indie scene and giving some love like you do so well. Strong contender for album of the year in my mind. Probably not a popular opinion. Solid review, Fantano!
LEAST FAV TRACKS: The Wheel (Is Turning Now)
*proceeds to give a 10 to The Turning Wheel 6 years later*
Dude so true lolmao
You can shoot a rocket at a rocket it's the FUTURE!
This is an incredible album with such a diverse range of styles. These guys also have an incredible sense of melody and rhythm which seems to propel the music, which at times can sound a bit cheesy, yet it all seems to work as a whole. This just may turn out to be one of my top five albums from 2015. I have only listened to this album a few times since first hearing it yesterday, but it seems like one of those albums that has a lot to offer, and rewards with repeat listens. I am very impressed to say the least, and I highly recommend this album to anyone with a penchant for music that is eclectic but very much melodic and thoroughly enjoyable at once. This music almost reminds me of a modern-day XTC, and has a similar quirky pop sensibility about it.
Matt Jarvie yep. If you like XTC, I think you may also like two other British band's new albums this year, Outfit and Dutch Uncles.
Is it just me or does it seem like half the time his least favorite tracks is one of my personal favs
Man I loved this album when I first heard and it's only grown on me more. I love The Wheel, even if the ending is a little overlong - the lyrics are so amazing and I just love the development of the song.
Also, Warm Healer is really one of my biggest disappointments at first, but now I bloody love it. The bass groove of the verses and the DRUMS in the chorus along with the AMAZING melody - I just love how chill and beautiful the track is.
Thanks, Fantano. This was the review that put me onto this band and I can't thank you enough for it. Been listening to EE ever since.
I remember seeing these guys a few years back in Dublin, Ireland and it was the only show I've ever been to where the crowd cheered really really loud for a solid 3 minutes after the 3rd or 4th song and the band just stared back in amazement with huge smiles on their faces. Great band.
Just got this on vinyl today! Thank you Anthony for opening up my eyes & ears to now one of my favorite records of all time!!!!!
I was feeling more of a 9-10 but an 8 is ok too! Thanks!
the wheel was killing it m8, hmmkay?
Thank-you so much for reviewing this album! One of my favorites this year!
I'm so glad that you liked this album Anthony! I've been digging it for about a month now, I seriously think it's one of the best pop albums of the year.
When i first heard this album I’m pretty sure I didn’t like it, after second listen it magically did a 180 and i found so much to like and even love. I’ve returned to this album again and again for the past 3 years and every time im blown away from the none stop bangers on it. Every song has something great going for it, the contrast in instrumentation, production and vocals are incredible. This is one of my all time favourite albums, its a low key masterpiece. Everyone should listen to this album.
Still listen to this record and always makes me feel warm... a masterpiece

Did you hear the a deluxe version of this album? The last track on that is a beast.
What got me into everything everything was distant past being on fifa 16
blast doors was the best song on the album.
totally agree
That song is a masterpiece
Agreed. That bassline!
it's definitely the most interesting and what go me into the band!
I can definitely agree
I random found this album like half a year ago and bought one of the last copies B&N had the next day. I love this album and after discovering you channel hoped you would have reviewed it. I was not disappointed. Nor was I disappointed with the review itself. Thanks for giving this great album some much deserved love and attention!!!
Everything Everything have, for me at least, made pop music formidable again
nice review and very happy to see you review this record. This is a rare case I think I feel pretty similarly about an album to you. Although i don't have issue with the falsetto vocals at all really. The 1st 6 tracks are really strong, and it seems to be a pretty good grower album...also I'm pretty jealous of your vinyl copy of Mirrored.
I can't stop listening to this album. it's the first album in a while that I seem to like every single song!! I think you should read into the lyrics more because there are some dark themes juxtaposing the instrumental but I think the effect would be better once you actually get to grips with what the meaning behind the song is because it's quite powerful, and a very intriguing commentary on current society as well as current issues happening mostly in the UK
I'm very happy you reviewed this. after finding thus band they've been a major influence for MY music so finding this was amazing. great to see others have noticed them!
Finally you reviewed it !!! i really dig this album i bought it on vinyl 2 weeks ago!
i like this guy's reviews.. always spot on, descriptive, and fair.
Hi Anthony. Another great review by the way, and you seem to appreciate the musical complexity on this record, but as a big fan of the band, I can't help but feel that you bypass the lyrical depth somewhat, and where the meanings of the songs were coming from. Higgs' written lyrics on all three EE albums tell a fascinating story of modern life, and I think that should be commended. None the less, thank you for your reviews, you've opened my eyes and ears to a bunch of new stuff 👍🏼
Anthony! You should check out their first album, it was one of my favorite records back in the day.
I just love your reviews Anthony.
Anthony - that is one sizeable nutshell - I am in love with your reviews, I think you should review 1. a trip to an art gallery, 2. a meal at a good restaurant and 3. rumpy pumpy with your favourite person - there would be some awesome uses of the words - 'flagrant', 'soprano' and 'colourful passages'... and phrases such as, 'this burger is not for everyone', or maybe 'ending with a full horn concerto!'
I really enjoyed The Wheel, and Warm Healer which you kinda sped over (and Brainchild which was on the deluxe edition for some reason) but I respect your opinions!
Saw these guys at their hometown show in Manchester on this tour, absolutely incredible. Great review!
I've loved this band since 2010. I'm glad their getting some love on the other side of the pond!
Thank you for reviewing this Fantano, Im going to assume that you took my advice and listened to this when I linked it a few weeks ago.
Love how you review stuff.

Been listening to this album and I'm loving it. Get a real feel of some tune-yards eclecticism and Battles' spastic guitar play, but the more immediate feel to the album reminds me of Bastille's most recent release. Also, I the vocals on the track Regret kind of reminds me of The Police.
They have been one of my fave bands since I saw them play at a small gig in Scotland. His voice is weird but it's listenable and unique. They are creating a really groovy progressive sound!
Ayy I been listening to these guys a lot recently! Nice to know you gave them some love as well.
Interestingly my favorite song from their album was We Sleep In Paris from the deluxe edition extra songs which they refereed to as the "few bad songs included just because we can. But needless to say, I loved every bit of this album. Very rarely do I find myself loving all of the songs on an album and this was one of the few rare exceptions. Looking forward to their new stuff.
they played "Get To Heaven" 10 times a day at my last job, this band is permanently ruined for me
Z ah no! but it fucking rules!
Z best job ever
Where did you work? They had good taste
For real?? Im not into rock-ish music, but i am in LOVE with this album! Very relaxing, but still really fun! It makes me sad that they arent more popular..
The beat that opens "The Wheel" is wicked.
Best album of 2015 in my opinion. Genius band. Too bad they are ignored in the States.
I'm a pop fan and Get to Heaven is one of my favorite albums of 2015. I'm glad you reviewed it! =)
Haven't listened to any Everything Everything since their album Man Alive in 2010, but I liked that one a lot, wacky, but super catchy and dancy in an almost math-popy kinda way.
i reaaalllly love this album and have been waiting for you to review it since it came out XD
Straight 10 for me tbf
First time I listened to 'To the blade' I had the shock of my LIFE. But I loved it. I've loved the songs ever since
The most relevant intro advert I've ever seen on UA-cam.
So glad you reviewed this, E.E. are one of the most creative acts out there right now
No digital release? I shall have to wait to dig into this ear candy.
Does anyone know where I can find the extended cut of this album? I want to order the cd. I can only find the normal version.
THANK YOU yes i'm glad you liked this. this is part of my summer soundtrack MAN. Also please review the Years & Years album Communion, kinda similar to this but my sister and I really like it. I'd really appreciate it if you review that!!!!!!
love this review, love this album! btw, what is the album in the background?
Thanks :)
I found this album from your best album video and when I listened to it I was blown away. Can you or anyone recommend another artist or album that follows this style, that I should listen to?
Couldn't find anywhere to listen to this online so I just bought it on CD. Listened to it for the first time today and I loved it, really fun record.
i loves this album. super energetic production. great vocals, catchy hooks, and great political lyrics (though can’t really do it justice as I don’t live in the UK.) plus, listening to the deluxe edition, with 6 extra songs , is definitely worth it.
Hey Anthony, please review EE's new album, RE-ANIMATOR 🙏
Hey, love your stuff. Just wanted to point out it seems the audio on your videos lately seems a little too quiet. Not sure if this was intentional, just thought I would point it out just in case nobody noticed.
For anybody wondering, the album will be available in the US on February 26th, 2016!!! The band posted a status on facebook not too long ago, and I'm pumped for it's US release.
Is this getting a US release? I can't seem to find any place online where I can listen to this thing in full besides the singles. Please help Anthony theneedledrop
Where can I listen to this album because it's not on Spotify (sadly)?
Anthony can you do a video on the listening gear you use? Or a video on the best or maybe also affordable but decent listening gear?
I might be wrong, but Anthony, do You (or anyone here for that matter) own this album on vinyl? Is it worth getting sonic-wise?
Been a fan of these for years great to hear your thoughts on the band.
Review Courtney Barnett's new album next?
Completely Agree with this review! First 5 songs are incredible, then I find my self skipping to No Reptiles, and starting the album again. Great Live band though, Definitely recommend checking them out if you get the chance!
This is one my favorite albums by them (or ever lol). But their Man Alive album is the absolute best and I never tire of it after years.
one of my favorite albums, always have been a fan of everything everything, and the never cease to amaze me!
I know, commenting on this video very late but I only recently got into the album. I'd have to say blast doors is my favorite since it's the first I listened to and the chorus is beautiful. But regret and brainchild are close seconds, very good.
Could you do a review on "Are you satisfied?" by Slaves?
Is there anywhere to stream this thing in the US?
I love Jonathan Brigg’s voice! They are fun to listen to.
