This series takes me back to 13yrs old checking my 10 trap line every night after school. Made $200 bucks that year and bought a new BMX bike. Oh the simpler days.
Thanks for these tutorial trapping videos I don’t know anyone who still traps so it is a real service for you to help pass on your knowledge on this skill.
It is nice to see a fellow professional who has a trapping background and continues to trap. Back in the early 80s while in law school I paid for many law books with fur money. I too have continued to trap.
My dad was a trapper all his life in northern Nebraska. It's great to see Randy trapping, reminds me of Dad, except I never saw him hoot and holler like that :)
Mr. Newberg, my girlfriend and I love the public land hunting videos! We are even looking to job transfer with our jobs to Montana to enjoy the land we all pay taxes to maintain. We both love to hunt, fish and hike. Keep up the great videos. Thank you!
Many many years ago while waterfowl hunting up in Manitoba we went to a D.U. Banquet. As hor d'oeuvres the locals prepared all types of wild game to sample. Without a dought the smoked beaver was the best! Thanks for doing this series!
I've been eating beaver for years Randy, tastes great with my homemade bbq sauce. Congratulations on eradicating that tasty rodent and saving those beautiful trees.
Thank you Randy for all you do. My name is Doug Cameron and I just wanted to let you know that you helped me decide on the hunting pack to buy. So like you I am a proud owner of the Pintler from Mystery Ranch. And also it would have been nice to have been there having some of that beaver y'all were eating. I really like beaver meat
Back in Canada the Forestry department at Lakehead U had a motto, "Eat A Beaver Save A Tree". On a badge on their jackets. Randy and Dale saved a tree today!
hi me and my dad go hunting I got my first duo and buck last year and he works a lot most week days and he loves going hunting with me and my family and my 3 siblings get to go camping with us at time. its cool watching you and your son in your videos with covid going around thank you for making content during this pandemic its been rough for a lot of people and I like to just come and check out your channel a lot to relaxed.
I basically love all hunting and trapping from mice in the shed to back country bear hunting and every critter in between but i have to say late winter beaver trapping with close friends and family when there isn't much else to do anyways is def one of my top 3 favorite things to do lol i enjoyed the video and i cant wait to watch the next one.
Great Job on the Beaver Randy I Think we have a bigger population of Beaver here in Northern Minnesota. They sure can do some damage but so can Elk and Deer. That is the greatest checking traps. God Bless you and your team
Seen beavers from time to time over the years, and they’ve always been pretty timid, but I saw a couple became pretty aggressive towards a family fishing party last week at our IWLA fishing lake. They swam towards the family and repeatedly slapped their tails. They quit when the father waved his arms and shouted. Very interesting video. Thanks.
I went to a seminar once on beaver ecology and the host kept pausing to mention how beaver was such a tasty treat. I got to see a town hall rec room full of old men acquire epilepsy in one night trying to suppress giggles.
Thinks Randy for all your hart work I'm a big fan of public land hunting since I started watching your videos. And I got lucky and got an 5×6 bull elk last hunting season. I wud not have bin able to do it if it wasn't for your teaching. (Late season elk, gutless method) and so on. Thinks a lot I'm always dreaming to meeting you sometime
Thanks for posting, I have heard of people eating the tails but it just seemed it would be like eating an old boot sole. This video confirmed that assessment. If after boiling for 6 hours, searing it on the grill and then peeling off the charred skin only to have the chef compare it to unprocessed pork rind..... I think I will stick to just eating the hindquarters!
Randy’s beaver hat is quite impressive. Would not have thought to try eating a beaver, but it actually looked pretty good....better than the Wolf for sure!
Hope you catch a bunch randy. As a dry land trapper my little girls would love a tanned hide. They are already asking for a racoon blanket. Hope you get 100k views.

Your beaver trapping series may be my favorite. I still remember when you tripped and got water in your hip boots and still stayed out all day. Champ!
That's great!
A tanned pelt from Randy's own stash!
Now that's special. Thank you Randy.

“ I have eaten beaver many times” Randy Newberg. ...put that on a T shirt.

Love your videos Randy, you keep me chugging along, 58 years old still 5 foot 9 above sea level, thank you.
Love the excitement when Randy caught the beaver. Great job Randy!!

I knew you could eat beaver! I knew it a long time ago! But Castor Canadensis!? I had no idea, Randy!

Masterful execution of the sleeper hold on that beaver.
Watching Randy get excited about beaver is awesome. I think I have seen them eat beaver, muskrat and wolf now. Pass the venison please!
Nice to see randy get excited!
