- New Jersey Party Boat Toggin, fished with Tan and Kenny on a party boat and made a friendly 20$ wager for whoever caught the first limit. In 2018, under heavy pressure, it is harder than ever to catch a limit of tautog from party boat, they have to be 15” and the limit is 5. We fished a bunch of different spots on this day, we caught shorts at every spot (i didn’t include many shorts in this video) but keepers were hard to come by. We grinded and we ended up with a decent catch.

This video is so much fun. The narration, the music, the reactions from Tan and Kenny, the camaraderie, the fishing action, they all make for a great entertainment. I watch this video from time to time, again and again.

caught tons of blackfish at montauk point LI. Great filleted batter dip and fried in butter. best tasting fish fresh. cant find in stores.

New Jersey is the best place for tog fishing, generous size limit, generous bag limit and longer season. I'm going to try to go down to AC and take a boat out of there.

Amazes me how hard is fishing on this boats I went on one 20 + people only about 40 fish kept to me is a waste of $$$$ I've caught many more tautog in 5ft of water on local rocks , save 100$ and a heartburn.

Need a high low rig in my opinion is so much nicer ya feel the sinker standing up on the structure youll feel the black fish bite it much better trust me and fish sandy hook reef its good fishing right now got a limit for two people in under 3 hours maybe next time we take the boat out i can get you out on it

Any advice or secrets when fishing for tog? Do you cut the legs off your crab? It’s my favorite fishing. I only get out once or twice a year. I go out of Avalon. But I’ve never got my limit.
it definitely takes some practice.. theres different kinds of crabs and different ways to cut them, in general yea cut them in half and cut the legs off. other than that, hope theyre chewin the day you go, and swing on the right bites.

haha that is the best catch of his life. he was using 15lb leader and a 7/8th oz epoxy on a light rod, I didnt believe him when he told me.

anybody have recommendations for party boats out of NJ? i'll be in NJ next summer for work and I cant bring my gear or car so boats with provided gear preferably

I couldnt watch the vid without music it was so quiet and boring. usually tog boats are pretty quiet, everyone is focused on feeling the chew, not very engaging to watch
