As a high school coach, thank you. I’ve just sent this to my players. Most of this I’ve talked to them about, but it helps reinforce it with a video like this.
Man I love your videos because they are not sugarcoated, they are helpful, and really informative. I’m still a freshman so I hope to gain a lot of knowledge from these. Thank you man
I don't think I'm a high IQ player yet, I've been playing for 4 weeks and I've made it to my schools A team, our team is undefeated currently, thanks for the vids
hey man, just wanted to say thank you because watching your videos helped me in a lot of things, thanks to you now i know how to train properly and im now a starter in my team. keep up the work, your helping lots of kids out here
Awesome video I’ve actually started watching your videos they have helped me a lot they have helped me want to play basketball in high school so I’m in eighth grade and I’m on the basketball team but I don’t think I’m good enough to make the freshman team in high school you should make a video of how to make the high school basketball team because I wanted to see your perspective on what you think is the best way
Hey Tucker, like I've said before, your videos are so informative and helpful. You inspire me a lot and teach me a lot as a young basketball player. I have a problem reading the defense and the help in game. While studying basketball, I can almost predict what the offense player will do and see what read they made, but in game I just can't seem to remember to make the read and scan the floor. This is pretty frustrating because I make a lot of bad plays that end in bad shots or turnovers. What advice do you have for this?
The more you play, over time these reads will become easier and easier. I would recommend playing more 2 on 2 and 3 on 3 in the offseason to build up the game situational split second reads. It is a process, don't get discouraged!
I'm on a new team and I've been very loud on the court even though I'm not a star player and when you said "you can be a leader no matter what role your in" in one of your videos its been so true for me.
I think at that age is about finding the joy in the game, playing free (allowing for them to make mistakes), and pushing them to work on their own time on their skills.
Can I just say how much your vids have been helping me I’m not on a club because I missed registration and not on hs team because I was doing a different winter sport but I’ve recently been going to my la fitness and playing where I did a 1v1 vs a kid on his high school team which started out rough 0-5 but I came back and won 11-9 and I played another game of 3v3 I scored 11 of my teams 17 points including 3 assists against more kids all on their high school team we lost 17-21 but I think I played solid going abt 50% from the field this is long and your not gonna see it but hopefully other people do and can see how much you’re helping out
Hey Tucker thanks for this I love your videos and I’ve been wanting to play college ball so you always give me motivation to keep going. Keep up the good work 👍
Hi Tucker. In my high school's league, the basketball isn't as sophisticated. Our coach has never given us set plays and other teams are not that organised. This makes some games chaotic, with each team barely using up the 24 second time clock in offense. Any tips to take advantage of this so that I can put myself in a place where I can stand out on offense and defense?
I actually think that kind of style can be pretty helpful at the lower levels. It forces you to make more decisions on every possession and get creative. Sounds like your coach gives a lot of freedom, so be really aggressive within those limits. Most high school kids aren’t in such a free situation!
@@TuckerRichardson Also, I have another question. My handles are pretty decent but whenever I'm playing one on one against a defender, I find it quite hard to get past them and they sometimes strip the ball away. Any tips on how I could train better to handle those situations or how I could get by players easier?
I’d say for someone who only started competing in October, I have decent IQ but just need more coaching and self education. I think my court awareness came from watching games and playing scrimmages.
As a high school coach, thank you. I’ve just sent this to my players. Most of this I’ve talked to them about, but it helps reinforce it with a video like this.
Always helps seeing stuff in action especially at the higher levels! Good stuff!
This is crazy underrated...
Appreciate it haha

Thank you man
You have so much to learn, keep that growth mindset!
congrats on 40k!
Thank you!!
I seen your videos since a couple of weeks, and they make me improve, is not a drastic change, but i have made some big steps for me, thank you.
That’s all it’s about, little steps!
Thanks Tucker, this made me realize that I still have a lot to learn, especially IQ wise. Your videos really help me!
You’re on the right track! Keep learning, keep growing.
I don't think I'm a high IQ player yet, I've been playing for 4 weeks and I've made it to my schools A team, our team is undefeated currently, thanks for the vids
You can always get better!
@@TuckerRichardsonI’ll play like JR smith if I want to you know nothing compared to any NBA player
And i disliked your video
Okay you are definitely right! I love a lot about JR's game he was just the most obvious choice for a thumbnail 😂
hey man, just wanted to say thank you because watching your videos helped me in a lot of things, thanks to you now i know how to train properly and im now a starter in my team. keep up the work, your helping lots of kids out here

I already made a video on how to do well at tryouts, but you are so young. You have tons of time to grow!

I love to hear it!
These videos are super helpful even for me who just plays pickup with friends
Hey, always room to grow no matter what the goal is haha
I'm on a new team and I've been very loud on the court even though I'm not a star player and when you said "you can be a leader no matter what role your in" in one of your videos its been so true for me.
I’m telling you!! A lot of times the best player isn’t the leader, although that can happen. But anyone can step up and take that responsibility.
Love your videos! I am a middle school coach. How can I motivate my players?
I think at that age is about finding the joy in the game, playing free (allowing for them to make mistakes), and pushing them to work on their own time on their skills.

Let's go, you too!
Almost 40k subs 🎉 congrats
Might get there today!!
yo, can you make more vids about this, these vids really help me
More IQ vids?? For sure!

@ play more 1 on 1s!!! That’ll be the best way to actually work on your creation game.
Thanks IQ is something I am trying to improve on
Most players do!
Tucker I’m in 7th grade and just got cut from my team, do you have any tips or ideas on what I should do to get better (I play guard) love you videos
Just continue to work. Use it as motivation, try and figure out why you got cut and train your weaknesses as much as possible.
I have been watching your videos and doing better in my games. Coincidence? I dont think so
That’s what I like to hear!
I’d say for someone who only started competing in October, I have decent IQ but just need more coaching and self education. I think my court awareness came from watching games and playing scrimmages.
The only way to really get better with it is through playing.
can you explain the over helping part im not quite understanding it
Basically on a drive, if you completely help onto the ball and leave your man wide open for a 3, that is over helping.
@@TuckerRichardson ohh okay thanks coach (basically a coach)
Any channels you'll recommend?
Thinking basketball, bballbreakown, By Any Means Basketball all good ones for IQ
@@TuckerRichardson Thanks, btw Is it possible for you to play in the Euroleague?
maybe one day!
Yo, 2:55 is a flippin’ dot 😂
Haha yeah very precise
In the first example why did the Bucks have to foul? Didn't the shot clock hit 0 as the guy shot so they were getting it no matter what?
Because the Knicks were winning and the shot clock was off...so the Bucks only option was to foul or else the Knicks can just run the clock out.
@@TuckerRichardson Got it, thanks
step #1 actually watching videos that improve your iq
True! 😂
Watched this whole video and it helped me so much love ur channel
Pin? 📍
Haha thank you!!
I’d say my IQ is average. I know a lot about the game but sometimes I don’t apply what I know in an actual game.
This is honestly the hardest part. Transferring what you know into split second decisions.
My IQ is decent I’m still learning tho
Always room to learn!
Early
Very.
