I absolutely love the fact that the dash never changed the entire time during this generation. I had a '90 GMC Jimmy, & man do I miss the hell out of that truck.
That's one rad Chevy. Not really a fan of chamber mufflers, but it sounds excellent for that truck. Gotta give props to the owner for making a classic into a custom and unique ride.
@@Lee_obschevy Definitely straight through core with sound absorbing material. Numerous studies including an Australian collegiate article has proven that straight through mufflers perform better and provide better fuel economy/horsepower and torque.
1988 was the first year for the trip odometer in both those square bodies & OBSs which were also new for 1988. The only square body models that were dropped in 1988 were the half ton & three quarter ton plain cab pickups.
beautifull truck! love the color the stance the crewcab and sleeper. its old school its sexy and sounds great with super 10 and amazingly it mouves good for being a heavy truck! big bold and quality. i wouldnt trade it for a 2023.
Don't see a squarebody dually too often plus it's a crewcab rare not a sleeper window but 464 hads amazing tone in 1:40 yes agree with owner of dually when those small wheels are on there first to go .
1st they are double walled tips not rolled, 2nd the tips do squat to the sound. What your hearing is the absence of a crossover of exhaust pulses or “True Dual” exhaust. That’s what makes it clappy plus it has flowmaster baffled super 10’s which have a baffle and will add to the clappy sound
Thats how I wanted to do a dually if I got another 2wd truck! Was gonna do a single rear wheel but not as big! Maybe a 17" but that's it. I like a fat wide tire! Did they swap rear ends to make it a single wheel?
The wheels really ain't my thing, but I guess that's cause I always use trucks like that for work and I use half ton trucks for playing around. Sold the half ton, and the work truck got totaled, but they're replaceable.
Yeah that is a real nice truck there's nothing nicer than of an old truck not saying it's bad looking it looks great but I just don't like those big 1-ton Duallys that's lowered I think it runs the whole look but if you like it that's great it still looks nice I'm just not and I wouldn't put those kind of wheels on that kind of truck anyway I would leave it with six tires on it put some big like 35s with mud Grapplers and some black rims but really nice truck
I’m sorry but 1 thing that bugs me is the hanger job that y’all do …. In my opinion it should go around the whole pipe not just a piece of it … it’s more secure and lasts longer than the truck or car will

Glad to see some of these vintage trucks. Still on the road. Nothing better would trade a new one for one like this any day?

What kind of muffler do you prefer?

Sounds really great with flowmaster super 10 👌

True American muscle sound god I miss those days
Did the exhaust set off that alarm?
My civic does that to real sensitive alarms.
That's a big pickup truck. Look at those rims on it. They're beautiful.
I like that 100 point turn to get out of the lot. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I prefer Original 40 series Flows but that truck is beautiful, job well done on preserving that beast.
i think he made an alarm go off at the end lmao
sure did LOL

Can't go wrong with an old square
The rolled tips give a lot of clap.. sounds good 👍

Hell Yeah sounds like thunder baby!

Oh yeah
Beautiful
Nice truck
Show the left front exhaust manifold.
5 mpg (or less)? It appears to have a turning radius about as bad as my mother's Buick Lucerne!
I love your video. Got questions I got 6.1 with long tube headers and cat back exhaust striated pipe what you recommend to get rid of the drone????
J pipes would help with out losing tone
Some people just need to upgrade 😂😂😂
That sounds really nice. Love it yo
We gonna get any cherry bombs on these chevys? That would be a great throwback!!

Very cool truck. X pipe would clean that sound up a lot. Very nice work
An x pipe would ruin it.
Classic square body like my '85 2500 short bed. Hate the wheels though. You can barely turn around. Needs an h-pipe too.
@Usual Suspect Exterminator Still waiting for a video of your "car" kid. 😁
🔥🔥🔥🔥
One muffler looks like it’s about to hit the bed floor
3" true duals is pointless on a 250hp engine with stock manifolds. Sounds decent
Melting the spare tire.
Does not sound good....flappy sounding but such a awesome looking truck!
160 dB. No way I'd run that
Would be better without sleeper.
Looks terrible but sounds great.
That looks so silly with lowered and with big rims 😂
Looks like crap with that wheel/tire/suspension setup. Sounds good at least.
id make it a dually again not single wheel but hey
I have an 1988 GMC stepside how hard would it be to put a 454 in it what would I have to do I'm wanting one so bad in my truck
Did you weld stainless to normal steal?
